FYI if you want to be able to select characters in The Simpsons look for a 2player ROM , the 4 player cabnets had a stick per character but the 2 stick cabs let you pick your character

Very late reply here, but it's a Nintendo product, so it has a 1-year warranty if you're still within that timeframe. Just call Nintendo (1-800-255-3700 for North America) and provide them with the serial number from the bottom of the system. Heck, they might not even have the warranty auto-registered in their database which sometimes happens, so they won't have your purchase date. If they ask you when you bought it after you've already given them the serial number, this means they don't have it recorded & you can bend the truth a little to get it set up for a warranty repair. These consoles generate very little heat and should easily be able to be left on for many hours so you didn't do anything wrong there.

I feel like as much as you pay for this thing I feel like all you should have to do is hook it up to your SNES classic and just put your cartridge in it and you should be good to go

For what it is, I think it takes too many "extras" to be a worthwhile product. You shouldn't have to hack a new product to get it to do what it was designed to.

The Classic Edition consoles are like buffed up Wii emulation machines.

    Just use a PC smh.
Or if you plan to use carts, then just by a real SNES for like 20 quid and a SCART cable for another 20 quid.

Yeah, buy a real SNES, and end up getting a 240p signal that your tv doesn't understand, or a very blurry picture if you don't happen to have bought a 1Chip SNES.
A real SNES would really be my number 1 choice, but being not interested in collecting for the system, and probably wanting to purchase just a handful of extra games, this device actually seems a pretty good option with a guaranteed crisp and clean video output in 720p.

The C2M uses Hakchi2 CE in order to function. So using one, is hacking the console.
