@@richterman3962 the trick is to call them 3 times over the course of a week or two. That way you have records that you made a best effort to pay them despite them attempting to give you the runaround.
Alternatively, call your bank and have them issue a charge back to the merchant. They don't like doing it often, since it's fairly serious, but if there is a charge back on the account, the vendor who the chargeback is against CANNOT hurt your credit.

I had to do something similar for SiriusXM because the person on the phone was a broken record of "Can we interest you in" every time I said "No, I just want to cancel". I finally hung up in frustration and changed the card on file to one that wouldn't work. Got emails for a while asking me to save my service by updating my CC on file before the finally stopped messaging me.
That’s truly the only way anyways!😂

This is painfully accurate and I honestly just gave up, went off script, decided to just go on and do what the customer asked and I got in trouble for not pushing a stupid service NOBODY wanted

I used to have an elderly neighbor who passed away and her children were trying to cancel her internet for months and refused to pay the bill for like 8 or so months before the internet provider removed the service. They even brought her ashes to the place because the wifi place needed the original account owner to cancel its ridiculous

@@i_never_had_a_burger I think it's more of the internet place was in utter shock and disbelief. From what my neighbor told me they didn't have to deal with the 6 months worth of late fees and such after that.
What they said to them was something on the lines of "do you want me to contact my grandmother?, alright give me a second I got her right here" (pulls out jar of ashes) apparently the worker took it as a bad joke then my neighbor pulled out an Ouija board. Placed her hands on the board and asked the employee to do the same "(grandmother's name) are you with us?, do you give consent to your wifi being cancled?"

Funny thing, I actually worked as Sales Rep for these providers (ob not gonna name them) and this is EXACTLY how it went. We recieved so many calls about this and that, not related to sales, even though most people knew, just because Customer Service was s***, and all we could do was give customers CS number which had hold times till infinity.

Growing up my mom would change the tv/internet every time she saw a good deal on a commercial. I respect her so much now.

As someone who very briefly worked as a customer rep for a big wireless network, this skit is almost accurate, especially the rep trying to retain customer with extra apple music lol. I hated being forced to tell customers to please don't leave by offering stuff that won't lower the bill much.
So glad I left 😁
and what they don't tell you is that said customer can actually EASILY Get a discount on the actual monthly bill by asking for it instead of stupid Apple music or whatever. Sometimes Tier 1 CS can do it, most of the time the customer has to demand tier 2 or even tier 3.
I've gotten amazing stuff before doing this. Always be polite though, even if you're pissed of. Saying your pissed off is fine, but be polite and calm.. but firm.
I've talked to the ACTUAL on duty department manager for Verizon before because of acting like this. ..NOT a team manager or anything like that. She was like, "Oh yah, thats fine, here done. Anything else you need?" We ended up having a 20 min conversation about other stuff, I made suggestions that she had implemented in the next software build for a phone etc etc etc.
I'm currently at work and I can't stop laughing this is too painful 🤣🤣🤣🤣 🤣🤣🤣 🤣

I used to work at Internet company. I worked at the collection department. Alot of calls were how much they hate the company.
Fastest way of getting it done when they're giving you a hard time is to let them know you'll contact the better business bureau if they don't cancel your service.
haha, maybe. Most people know that the BBB is actually a joke and has no power though.
But that reminds me that I once had the cops show up at my house... and no idea why. They said that our # had been repeatedly calling 911. We didn't even HAVE an actual phone in the house, just DSL. I convinced the cops of this and they left. Called Verizon the next day and told them what happened and asked them to fix it ASAP. They were like, "Ooh, it's going to be a week, we're really busy right now."
I went, "Uh fine, then let me contact the city and make sure they send you the bill for EVERY single 911 call they get from my # for the next week. OR you can have someone come fix it TODAY!" I got put on hold for like 5 mins and told a team would be out that day to fix it.
Turned out some damn squirl had chewed through the phone lines like 5 houses away and the wind was making the line brush against a tree branch and THAT Was calling 911 over an over again... so weird.
