I am building my first PC ever and so far I was a little bit frustrated with so many options but these videos are helping a lot! Love the details you go into! Thanks!
I think that Gigabyte did some great job with X570 motherboards. They can stay cool even at hard work, have hybrid connection for fans, water pumps etc. and all of that for such low price... How could someone say this sucks? RUclips recommendations did it right. This channel is the motherboard gold. Keep it up!
3 years later and this is still one of the best reviews of this motherboard. Thanks! The only thing to add is that the longer GPUs extend over the board's cooler, partially blocking its intake. The same would be true for the X570s boards with their use of passive cooling. As a work around I have another fan directing air down towards that cooling fan. The latest F36d bios update by gigabyte shows they are still invested in this motherboard.
You pretty much just sold this for me. Just put a bid on one. I was looking even at the Msi Meg x570 ACE, but all around, I think this is more cost effective. Great Review. New Subscriber!
Excellent reviewer. Excellent channel. No BS, just FACTS. Would you still recommend this board today or has anything else in this price range caught your eye and would recommend. Thanks.
It's been killing me trying to figure what mobo I want to go with. Then I found you. First I watched you shoot down the msi x570 carbon. Then I watched this and was instantly sold. And a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Gracias senior!
That was the best single review of a system component that I have seen in the 2-3 months that I've been considering my next machine. And given COVID-19, I've watched a *lot*, as the case and everything in it will be new. And there were some odd bits, such as choosing graphics cards for CUDA as well as gaming. So thanks for this, Laurent. You rock.
Completely sold me on the board! Was between this and the ASUS TUF, went with the Pro. Managed to snag one on sale for 200$ and throwing a 3700x in it later this week. Love your reviews and presentation style!
This board is awesome. I managed to reach CL14 3800mhz ram overclock on it without any issues. So glad to have went for Aorus Pro instead of opting for more expensive boards.

Best mainboard review I've seen. Looking to build an R7 3700X build and was wondering how this board stacked up. Your review made me think about some components running in PCIe 4.0 and I wouldn't have caught it. I was thinking B450 but I think I'll future proof and upgrade to X570 now, and faster NVMe later when 2TB gets a bit cheaper. Thank you!
Planning to get a 3800x (it's only 15 euros more expensive than a 3700x atm), but can't decide to get an Elite or a Pro, they currently go for 230 and 300 respectivly (in France) I wont be needing any of the added fan headers, but I do prefer the look of the Pro over the elite and the added heat sink for the m.2 slot and I do think the Pro has better thermals and slightly better future proofing. The added temperature sensors also allow for better fine tuning of the system noise (6 compared to 9). 70 euros is a big difference though... Too many choices.... I'll just go for the PRO and not look back especially since the B550 boards are so close on the horizon. Your delivery is great and instead of just throwing specs at us your videos are very entertaining to watch!
Thank you you review it help me narrow down which mother board to get and also end up save me good bit of money Now all told I now been using this board for around 12 weeks and it been excellent no issue, no faults and it runs like a charm. There was one small issue with my build as I used the stock Wraith Stealth Cooler (cost cutting on my part) that is included with the AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Processor The price of use this stock cooler is that the Cooler hang over and in fact block the first of the ram slots so watch out for this it not effect me as I only using 16 GB ram now the sad thing is that with a little thought this could have been avoided if the fastening to attach the CPU heat sink had been place better
An update back in feb 2020 I purchased this mother board it now seen some heavy use more then normal use due to lock down and I have not had a single issue (as of 7 aug 2020) it's done it job as backbone of my PC it is a very stable motheboard and I would give it an "outstanding rating" so it was well worth looking at Laurent's Choice and his review on this board is spot on aka 100% correct he said a very good mother board and it is so thank you Laurent

I had this mother board the AORUS X570 ULTRA and I found out a problem where it doesn't boot, when you check the sequence you can see that it get stuck on the RAM, I change the ram a lot of times, and it result that it is a problem with the mother board, so I would said that this motherboard isn't a good idea yet.

I have an Nvidia rtx 3080 founders edition, I am looking to upgrade to this board and I am worried if the card is going to coverup the chipset fan ? Also if that's the case, can I use the card in the 2nd pcie slot instead of the first ?

@@Laurentschoice thank you for replying I get that the aorus is the best but I trust Asus a bit more. Thank you again for replying. If I have any other question I will ask you.
Hey, did anyone who bought this Mb, have had any issues with bios, time to post, RGB software or just straight broken, bc a lot of reviews i read on Amazon or Newegg said so, but I don't completely believe them, can you help me with this, bc I'm not from the U.S. but I buy things from there and can't access to RMA or ship for replacement.
I had an issue with it, where the board wouldn't stay stable even at stock speeds sometimes it's hist a bug, but had to straight up be replaced. So contact Aorus or your seller for this kind of support l. Great mobo, bad conception
is anyone else dealing with extreme noises coming from the RAM small fan cooler? I tried sucking the dust but it never stops, maybe opening it up? idk..
Thanks you Romeo for your kind words. They mean a lot to me :) Yes absolutely. An Excellent CPU choice too. Board can durably handle that many core and will handle editting bandwidth just fine. Make sure to get the right kind of GPU. Dont go below a 2070 or a 5700XT :)
Thanks for your highly informative and hilarious reviews! A common critique I see is that the graphics card is right over the cooler. Is this an issue? Would a massive msi rtx 2080 ti trio make sense with this board?
Oh my god. So sad. Now that I thought that I found the right motherboard I found this review on amazon: "So I noticed a hissing sound when I started up my computer. I realized that it was the chipset fan spinning and touching the GPU. Due to the design of this board, it's very much possible that your GPU could actually touch the chipset fan. I have a rather small GPU. Sure I could place my GPU to the second PCIe slot but why should you have to do that on a $270 motherboard? It sounds funny but check your GPU dimensions I suppose to see if it's compatible with this chipset fan. I don't think a BIOS update can fix that problem."
I just got this MB, the WiFi version though. That's probably the biggest con of this MB. My 1070 FTW literally covers up half the chipset fan and when it spins up and is fairly loud. There are 3 prreset settings for this fan, silent, normal and performance. Like I said I just got this board and haven't got to play with it much. Don't these companies consider this when designing a MB?
I'd love to know the differences between the the standard, Elite and Pro, Extreme and Ultra versions? Is it just a few features or is one significantly slower? What extra are you getting for your money?
Basically.. the PRO and ULTRA share the same VRM. Actually they are identical in all save a third M.2 SSD on the ULTRA. Depending on the CPU, I would probably go for the Pro which is the best value of the all line-up.
@@Laurentschoice - thanks, Laurent, I just want to make sure I don't short change myself. I've got a budget, but I won't be playing any even mildly demanding games or editing 4k video. Pretty much just lightroom and photoshop. I purchased the Elite Wifi two weeks ago on Amazon for $209USD, and they have yet to ship it, it keeps being delayed. Interesting to note that the price on that board has more than double since I ordered it, so I believe they are trying to get me just to cancel it or pay a lot more for another one.
Laurent's Choice - was set on the x570 Aorus Elite, now I'm not sure. 3900x build with 3200MhzCl16 Ripjaws (4x16GB), budget already strapped. Should I add +25% and get the Pro or will Elite be fine? Would the Elite have worse memory clocks or temps (louder fan) than the Pro?
What motherboard do you recommend for pure gaming first build n going all out just bought the intel i9 9900ks n buying EVGA GeForce 2080ti ftw3 , love you’re review on this boards
Great review.Just got this after the review but I need your advice on bundled cooler on the ryzen 7 3700x or should I get a good budget third party cooler with recommendation please.Trying to build my first pc building.Pls I don't game and no intention to overclock.Pure photo and video editing.
What would happen if I put two different gpus to this motherboard? I am thinking of putting an rtx 3070 for the x16 and rx580 on the second slot. Primarily for mining/gaming will this work ?
Laurent I like very much x570 aorus pro but I want to use with Logitech z906. Is this good idea; In asus tuf x570 and asus prime pro x570 says this 2 mobo is compatible with Logitech z906.. I hate the colours of tuf and prime pro. So can I use aorus x570 pro with Logitech z906. Have this mobo optical audio; Or need to buy and audio card? Cpu ryzen 7 2700x (later change to 7 3700x for Pcle 4) GPU sapphire RX 5700 XT nitro+
Ok so which one is better in all honesty, the gigabyte X570 elite or this one... since the vrm are a bit different and just confused a lil since the pro cost more but they did a different vrm scheme.. which is dumb I believe
Laurent's Choice Idk.. It’s either the Ryzen 7 3700x or 3800x leaning more towards the 3800 with the EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 super FTW3 Ultra since the gigabyte 2070 super OC isn’t in stock... what do you think 🤔
Laurent's Choice true.. ima try to get my hands on the elite WiFi one then.. thanks a lot and Im glad to have Discovered your channel. I’ve enjoyed your in depth reviews and intrigued for your upcoming videos. Keep up the good Work!!! I’ll most likely give you an update for when I finish the build and maybe have more questions, just Incase I can’t find any info on it haha.
Laurent, between this board or the ROG STRIX X570-E do you still prefer this one? Is the audio on this one superior, and is the sound of the fan on the x570 boards a problem(too loud or not)?
I run this mobo with a ryzen 5 3600 with a wraith spire and a Evga Rtx 2070 super I’ve got 2966hz ram but thinking I should of gone faster maybe 3200/3400 but I’m unsure if I should bother it’s the first pc I fully built myself and my first experience of nvme only had one of the nvme heat sinks with it though yours seems to have 2
So I'll be using the r5 3600 and I'm between msi x470 pro carbon , Aorus x470 gaming 5 WiFi, Aorus x470 ultra gaming and x570 Aorus pro, which one do you suggest ? Also I'm waiting for bf and cm so hopefully their prices will drop. Oh btw I'll be using the rx 5700 or 5700xt which uses pcie4 but thankfully it's also compatible with pcie3

Do this motherboard comes with SMT feature ? The manual does not mention it that seems strange to me...
So should I get the MSI MPG X570 Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi, the TUF Gaming X570-Plus or this one?
I'd definitely go for this one! Just reviewed the Ultra... and I am still thinking the Pro is better!
@@Laurentschoice thank you for replying I get that the aorus is the best but I trust Asus a bit more. Thank you again for replying. If I have any other question I will ask you.
Also I would like to ask if the chipset gets hot to a concerning degree. Anything over 60°C is kinda concerning for me.
@@cxncr. I'd go with the gigabyte. My old 78lmt basic mobo is still running strong even after 8 years
Hey, did anyone who bought this Mb, have had any issues with bios, time to post, RGB software or just straight broken, bc a lot of reviews i read on Amazon or Newegg said so, but I don't completely believe them, can you help me with this, bc I'm not from the U.S. but I buy things from there and can't access to RMA or ship for replacement.
I tried sucking the dust but it never stops, maybe opening it up? idk..
You have the Rev1.0 board
Does this have better sound than regular onboard sound in laptops or other motherboards ?
Great review ! Will this work with Rz 3900x as a video editing computer ??? Merci beaucoup !
Thanks you Romeo for your kind words. They mean a lot to me :)
Yes absolutely. An Excellent CPU choice too.
Board can durably handle that many core and will handle editting bandwidth just fine.
Make sure to get the right kind of GPU. Dont go below a 2070 or a 5700XT :)
Whats the difference between rev 1.0 and 1.1/1.2?
I'm confused. The rear I/O says the red USB ports are 3.1, but you said they're 3.2 Gen 2 USB ports. How does that work?
How will this (aorus pro wifi) compare to msi tomahawk in your opinion?
hello can i ask, i connect my monitor into the motherboard's hdmi but not appear. What is the hdmi function for?
Thanks for your highly informative and hilarious reviews! A common critique I see is that the graphics card is right over the cooler. Is this an issue? Would a massive msi rtx 2080 ti trio make sense with this board?
Oh my god. So sad. Now that I thought that I found the right motherboard I found this review on amazon:
"So I noticed a hissing sound when I started up my computer.
Keep in mind that a 2080 will have no performance difference if placed on the middle PCIe 16.
Ultimately, went with the Elite.
I went with the pro the elite doesn't justify the extra price
Im rly close to get x570 Aorus PRO, but still wondering is there any better option to consider for 3900x video editing build in similar budget..
On similar budget. No. This is the best u can get . And a perfect choice for video editing.
@@Laurentschoice thanks for reply. It's time for shopping 😉
What motherboard do you recommend for pure gaming first build n going all out just bought the intel i9 9900ks n buying EVGA GeForce 2080ti ftw3 , love you’re review on this boards
2 Months after i bought this Mainboard. Now my Computer is not starting anymore... tried almost everything hmm. I'll send it back for sure.
Great review.Just got this after the review but I need your advice on bundled cooler on the ryzen 7 3700x or should I get a good budget third party cooler with recommendation please.Trying to build my first pc building.Pls I don't game and no intention to overclock.Pure photo and video editing.
On a 3700x I would prefer to see a AIO water cooler
Thank you, nice review!
Welcome Wat Dis ;)
What would happen if I put two different gpus to this motherboard? I am thinking of putting an rtx 3070 for the x16 and rx580 on the second slot. Primarily for mining/gaming will this work ?
Great review. I have one of this with wifi. Great mobo
Do you know the height of the VRM heatsink?
Laurent I like very much x570 aorus pro but I want to use with Logitech z906. Is this good idea; In asus tuf x570 and asus prime pro x570 says this 2 mobo is compatible with Logitech z906.. I hate the colours of tuf and prime pro.
So can I use aorus x570 pro with Logitech z906. Have this mobo optical audio; Or need to buy and audio card?
Cpu ryzen 7 2700x (later change to 7 3700x for Pcle 4)
GPU sapphire RX 5700 XT nitro+
I'm thinking of buying this motherboard.
I have 2×8 gb ram sticks that is 16 gb ram which is at 3200 mhz each.
So can this motherboard support this?
Yes
How's the startup time on this board? I read a fair number of critical reviews on Amazon claiming this board took upwards of 20+ seconds to post.
hi Laurent, is the x570 pro and x570 pro wifi just the same specs (except the wifi of course)?
Ok so which one is better in all honesty, the gigabyte X570 elite or this one... since the vrm are a bit different and just confused a lil since the pro cost more but they did a different vrm scheme.. which is dumb I believe
What CPU are u going for?
Laurent's Choice Idk.. It’s either the Ryzen 7 3700x or 3800x leaning more towards the 3800 with the EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 super FTW3 Ultra since the gigabyte 2070 super OC isn’t in stock... what do you think 🤔
Then, go with the Elite. Itll give u much more than ull need to operate/oc ur CPU
I'd go for this one despite the absence of Q LED screen.
Cheaper and ... well better.
hello laurent what do think is the best Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO or Gigabyte X570 AORUS Ultra ? please I am confused
Sir, do I still need to buy separate PCI wireless adapter & bluetooth module if I use this mobo?
Yes.
But if u buy the AC version of this hoard it comes built in
I run this mobo with a ryzen 5 3600 with a wraith spire and a Evga Rtx 2070 super I’ve got 2966hz ram but thinking I should of gone faster maybe 3200/3400 but I’m unsure if I should bother it’s the first pc I fully built myself and my first experience of nvme only had one of the nvme heat sinks with it though yours seems to have 2
Laurent: "ez derberger"
Steve Martin: "I would like to buy d'amberger"
Finally here you are!
@Laurent´s Choise, Would u preffer the Aouros Pro or the Msi Unify ??
Tough one... i think i d go UNIFY :)
@@Laurentschoice Thanks :)
i' want to say the must is the for a 3600x is the aorus pro or the aorus elite ? thanks for the answer !
you can even go 3800X :)
Another great review! Looking for a good board to replace my Gigabyte 990FXa-ud5, this just might do the trick.
I have just ordered this
Did your x570 pro WiFi come with a i/o shield?
Jimmy O yes, it’s built in
Nice just what I was looking for. Needed to know if this board was compatible with 2 m.2 gen 4s at the same time
RGB on the back of the board?
So Laurent, if we are tight on budget, would you recommend Aorus Elite instead of Pro? Thank you.
Élite :)
@@Laurentschoice Thank you. Love your videos. Please keep going. :)
Pro bcuz it has better vrm heatsink
