      For my wax, 75-80 for adding fragrance and around 65-70 for pouring works best.

    • @sosacandles
      @sosacandles  Месяц назад +1

      I added 1% of the total candle. So if the total candle (fragrance oil + wax is 100 gm), then 1% of it is 1 grams

      Stearic acid is optional :) Also, it’s been used widely in candle making and cosmetics too
      Stearic Acid has the ability to increase the harness of a candle, and has the quality of providing increased opacity and fragrance retention. Like I said, it’s an experiment, not a mandatory thing to add to your candles. 🙂

      There’s a gap in understanding here. You can add stearic acid in both jar candles and pillar/ designer candles. The purpose of testing this is to decipher if stearic acid really helps in prolonging the life of your candles.
      Besides, last month, you commented that you wanted a Timelapse comparison to see if stearic acid really works in candles. Not sure about where the gap really is. 🙂

      Making a good performing candle out of pure 100% soy wax is nearly impossible. Thats why we have wax blends containing additives, stearic acid being one of them. Different blends, different ratios of those additives, but stearic is one of the main ingrediences in wax blends. Pillar blends contain more acid than container ones does.. but container wax blends still HAVE stearic acid in them. Some may decide to add even more in the blend, resulting in stronger hot throw and better wick performance
