  • Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler attended the launch of the Home of Metal presents Black Sabbath - 50 Years exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery on June 25th 2019. This video shows them answering some questions put to them by Alexander Milas.
    The Black Sabbath exhibition takes place in Birmingham, the home town of the band, from 26 June - 29 September 2019. Tickets must be pre-booked. homeofmetal.com
    The exhibition celebrates from the perspective of their fans, to show the impact and cultural legacy of the band as pioneers of Heavy Metal, and to celebrate this unique, significant part of British music heritage.
    From the humble beginnings of 1960s Aston, Birmingham, Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward created Black Sabbath, in turn forging a new sound, a new aesthetic, and a new musical culture - Heavy Metal.

    If there was no Black Sabbath, there would be no heavy metal. Tony Iommi's doom laden playing invented a genre no one else could have replicated.

    Love Sabbath but in all honesty a really crappy exhibition. Where are the guitars and basses that should be in this exhibition? They didnt even call hardrock cafe to borrow these items. A rip off.
