It's essentially a much better Talon Shrike now that it's missile load and stealth factor have been buffed. It was already faster with bigger backup guns and a smaller profile, but now it's essentially the best stealth fighter at doing stealth fighter stuff. Previous Sabre variants fail the stealth fighter role in that they're short range weapon dependent. Doesn't matter that it's "stealth" if it has to get within detection range to be a lethal threat.
That’s an excellent analysis! And I agree, especially after the recent buffs the Firebird outpaces the Shrike; and there’s just something so satisfying about that 6-shot salvo!
I really hope they give the shrike some kind of niche
I've said it before, I'll say it again: Firebird, enters combat. Flings missiles. Refuses to elaborate. Leaves.
I have laser canons on mine, I think I’ll hang around and see it through.

@stefanbauer423 'stealth' as in your actual detection range definitely exists. It's just incomplete and needs work. But I am glad they buffed the missile payload.
They should just call it the Raven Shadow and Raven Firebird. These ships look nothing like a Sabre except the cockpit and tiny fins on the firebird. The fuselage is completely different.

The Firebird is beautiful. I have more than enough ships, and I don't see it replacing any of my current fleet but I'll love to see it in the 'verse.
I completely agree! For budget and fleet purposes, I won’t be buying one with cash. But I look forward to seeing them flying in the verse and maybe picking one up with credits!
If I have a normal sabre with lti that I got back in 2015 and use the upgrade in the pledge store to get the firebird, do I keep the lti from my sabre pledge for the firebird?
CCUpgrades keeps all the perks of your pledge, the game license and the insurance, including your LTI.

Im still waiting for the rework myself. And I dont work for CIG nor am I involved in the game’s development; I promise nothing. The game has delays, and the rework is lower priority as the ship is in game already!
