I see a lot of People complaining that the Firebird can t kill Carracks/Reclaimers/M2 Herc/C2 Herc but people seem to forget she was never supposed take engagements with those big hunks.... her purpose is to hunt down similar sized crafts, she is meant to blast a Gladius out of the sky which she does just fine, or a Scorpius, which she does just fine, or a Ares which she does just fine, or maybe a C1 Spirit or similar which again she does just fine :3 i don t get all the negativity sorry :3 but if you think your light and medium fighters should kill big ships you are just dreaming thats not how it´s supposed to be and not how it will work in the future.
While I get your point and absolutely agree, I also see the others' point: A dedicated missile ship that cannot take down a fighter (a heavy one, but still) with a missile barrage (of which you only have two) is just sad. In the current state of the game player missiles are just a joke. If 5-6 seconds on target with laser cannons equal to the barrage of a dedicated missile ship, I see no point in using a weapon so limited on ammo and which needs dedicated lock-on. The Ion is in a bd place, but it could pop a Firebird before latter even got a missile lock. I hate to say this, I really do, but it looks like missile need a damage buff of at least 5x. And that is IF they hit. Counter measures are a thing after all. With only two barrages, I'd spend one noise and 3 flares, then give the Firebird a laser cannon love tap and be done with it once it ran out of damage potential.

Can't wait for S3 cluster missiles. It's only lacking two things in my opinion: the 40% emission reduction of the other Sabre variants, and more missile variety.
I think missiles need a rework overall. More variety in types of missiles, and more meaningful differences in those missile types other than just tracking type. Like S2 we have rattlers, and S1 we have pioneers and taskforce, those are three pretty different missiles, but we should have at least that level of variety in all 4 non torpedo size classes.
Name tags clutter up the screen so bad already. I'm not sure why they all have to be flashing red when not targeted. We have an alarm that lets the pilot know how close the missile is getting.

I bought the ship. Sold after 24 hours lol.. once you’re missiles are done you should leave. The guns are about as useful as the eclipse’s Same play style almost tbf
If I had targeted the actual Gladius which was the target, the MRT would have been much shorter. Did you see how quickly it was destroyed? How about the Scorpius in the HRT?

@@undeadpeak i mean we are able to scan and sub target specific components with guns, maybe at some point missiles will allow the same/something similar :3 and with 4.0 Engeneering coming thats gonna have one hell of an impact on Stealth gameplay :3 sneaky scanning and launching some crippling blows before engaging close range will be terrifying :3
@@xichronix8090 I mean we can already do that, it's just really difficult to pull off as you need the target to keep a good trajectory, now most SC players aren't that good at defensive flying so you can pull it off a good amount of the time
for HRTs in the firebird I prefer to use the missile munitions to thin out smaller ships that may run escort, and run with M5a cannons to take on the bigger ships. Also with just 2 guns, it has a pretty generous capacitor for energy weapons.
I think missiles will be more viable in the future when server fps goes up and tech matures. The ship definitely has potential even though the current iteration of missiles are a bit wonky and unpredictable. The ship is beautiful.
just as a tipp, try to set VJoy changable to your mouse, from Vjoy to relative... e.g. right alt. Fighting is much easier this way. and you can still strafe left or right easily and survive much longer. And also you will look highly professional this way ;)
I bought one. It's in my fleet, but it will probably be a hangar queen. My Hornet MKII has 2 more size 3's and 2 size 5's, so it is definitely better for pew pew. Maybe when stealth AND missiles both get buffed it will be a monster, but for now it was just another impulse buy for Launch Week. No ragrets!
The Firebird is gorgeous, I'm not sure it's got a place in my fleet just because I already have plenty of fighters and combat ships, and I'm not sure I like it _more_ than the ones that I have... and I'm trying to be strong and not expand the number of ships in my fleet. 🤣 It looks really good with a lot of the paints too. It's really cool that the Auspicious Red now works on all three Sabres as do the new paints released with the Firebird. The classic Sabre is stunning with the new Ashcould paint.

Okay so, semi-unrelated but, that many bullets on ANY craft whether past or future (fantasy or not) would have died a long time ago. CIG need to increase ballistic damage to be REALISTIC. Even 100 rounds into the wing or body of a craft without shields would be obliterated. Just my 2 cents
You can like a ship without it being good or "meta" I love the firebird handles well and fits the role of a mini eclipse if you use the stealth and missiles correctly. And it can also decently dogfight with the agility it has. Dunno why people are shitting on you in the comments. But sc has some very toxic parts of the community

A F7A with dual S4 Revenants 2x badgers and 2x panthers are underwhelming with the applied damage right now... This sheit is not even worthy of the term underwhelming... it is way worse than that... A definite no buy for me.
The rockets seem to be really weak. 10 rockets + gatling vs vanguard... the ship should be more like a fast in and fast out while downing targets using rockets. for 180$ I'd expect more... for comparsion.. I bought the sabre raven in the past via ebay for 60$ and now it trippled in price. :D IMO its way 2 overpriced for what it can.
I have been dueling firebirds all day in a STOCK gladius. They have broken my shields once, and that was a daaamn good pilot i was against. The firebird is shit.
Amazing how bad this ship is. In a couple of patches that speed and maneuverability will be tweaked to standard and this ship will be a useless jpeg in the hangar.

Not sure about that. It's fast so can control the fight. Avenger One recently gve it an A rating and classed it above the F7A mk II and the F8C Lightning.
@Hemebean Check it for yourself, rent it, and take it for a spin. Hrt or ert and try to controll anything with 5 ship attacking you. Thought it would be fire and run strategy, but 12 is not enough, and you need to engage it in close combat. I know game has been changed with MM but CiG forgot to adjust the quantity of the enemies.

For a small missile boat, I think the most important factor is how well it runs away bravely from similar sized ships to launch another salvo
A little combat advice, try not to use your yaw so much. Roll your ship and keep your enemy verticle. It will help you keep on target longer

The good thing about this, is they're no longer having to only do updates of that chassis, for only the handful of Intel promo owners.

my missles dont lock propperly. it says locked and then i fire. the missles just go straight to the ground
