Their record company geniuses were “uncomfortable” with their affection for each other, so Linda went out of her way to make them squirm by kissing Aaron. I love her courage and willingness to bust out of the restraints they tried to put on her. These are two of the most beautiful voices on the planet. 🌺✌️
All Linda was doing is trying to sell us the emotion which is why she is so brilliant and yes that kiss would disappoint many, but it was one of decent friendship where the love for each others ability was mutual .
I played this video for a young (30) friend of mine. I'm 70. When he heard Aaron Neville sing, he said that it must be "auto-tune". I informed him that auto-tune had not been invented yet. 😝
Linda was a huge influence in the music industry. The Neville Brothers were talented. He was extremely nervous and didn't like to be on stage. She stayed near him, supported him.
My goodness....You know Linda from Blue Bayou in a movie?....Over 100 million records sold, 11 Grammys, 3 American Music Awards, 2 American Country Music Awards, an Emmy, an Academy of Latin Music Award, National Medal of Arts Lifetime Achievement Award, etc., etc. etc. Time to go down an amazing rabbit hole.
Such a sweet, deeply romantic, and honest kind of love song. Nothing like the music today. Listen to Aaron Neville do his first hit "Tell It Like It Is". They of course became lifelong friends after making this. Aaron was however married at the time to his first wife, which lasted nearly 50 years
Nice reaction my friend. Two absolute powerhouses. Watch Aaron sometime perform with his brothers. As for Miss Linda... I loved her from the first time I saw her perform live with the Stone Poneys. There have been many love duets but none can top this one. ❤☮🙏
Oh my... Where to start with Linda Ronstadt? I guess by saying, without any reservation, that she is an American national treasure... And by saying so, is still an understatement. She sings in Spanish as well. (Perfect Spanish) Her father was Mexican and the one who encouraged her in music from the start. In the sixties , she was one of the first women singing Rock music (which then it was a male dominated genre). She was highly successful at it. ("You are no Good" is one of my favorites) She has also broken into other genres swimmingly making her extremely versatile. She has had any achievement award you could think of (repeatedly). My favorite songs by her are: "Long Long Time", "Heat Wave", "Will you still Love me Tomorrow", "Tracks of my Tears", "Just One Look" "Somewhere Out There" and a very famous duet with Aaron Neville, "I Don't Know Much" among many ..many others (These are the ones that immediately come to mind). Being bilingual, I can also appreciate and value her Spanish songs and achievements. My favorites in that 'Mariachi' department are: "La Charreada", "Tú, Solo Tú" , "Volver, Volver", "Por un Amor " and "La Cigarra" Thank you for bringing Linda back !!! Remain excellent... :) Jaime
Wonderful reaction! You need to check out the video of Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb’s duets, Guilty and What Kind of Fool that they sang for a fundraiser in Barbra’s backyard. They won a Grammy for it. Both duets are spectacular!
One of the most amazing and beautiful duets ever. It is as enduring as Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross performing Endless Love. Check them out also if you haven't already.
You need to watch Neal Diamond and Barbara Streisand singing their duet of “You don’t bring me flowers anymore” , sung at the Academy Awards show many years ago! Amazing!
Beautifull duet R.I.P Linda she had such a great voice, they were a nice couple of and off stage, too bad she did never married and i heard later she had an accident that cost her life.
You are correct,i read somwhere recently that she had a car accident and passed but that was false information, like many around the internet thanks for putting it straight its such a pitty though she is struggling all these years with that Disease. 😥@@dmmrad54
One of my favorite duets! Thank you! Aaron has such a unique voice! Some other good duets are Barry Gibb and Barbara Streisand or Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.
Loved Linda since her first hit song in 1967. This popped up in recommended & I had to watch. Blue Bayou was co-written & first recorded in 1963 by the great Roy Orbison, who also has a distinctive voice.
Please check out Linda Ronstandt on Canciones de Mi Padre. A wonderful WONDERFUL album. The video on RUclips is a superb live performance of the album. She could sing ANYTHING. It's still one of the highest selling Spanish language albums in the world.
Linda's cover of Blue Bayou is fabulous. But probably my favorite of her recordings is a 3 CD set of songs from the Great American Songbook with Nelson Riddle. Absolutely amazing.
Aaron was deathly afraid of performing LIVE...Linda talked him into it! You can tell by watching him...He is totally focised on her and NOT the audience!!😂 I LOVE IT!!
You might listen to Linda Ronstadt and Paul Simon on Simon's "Under African Skies" from his Graceland album. Also "All My Life" duet with Ronstadt and Neville...and "Faithless Love" with Ronstadt and JD Souther.
@@Texas_Love ...While the music of Ronstadt, the Bee Gees, Paul Simon, the Beatles, the Beach Boys, and so forth is stunning, you might try Randy Newman, whose music is a bit different. Very few reaction videos have bothered with his music, apart from "Short People" and "I Love L.A.". Those are indeed excellent tunes, but Randy Newman has a very deep catalog of brilliant, ironic, sarcastic, satirical, and heartbreaking music. He is a genius orchestral arranger and movie music artist having written the scores to "The Natural", "Ragtime", and all of the Toy Stories....just to name a few. So you might start with his early work like "Marie", "Political Science", "I Think It's Going to Rain Today", "Sail Away", "Louisiana 1927", "Wandering Boy", "Losing You", "Our Town (sung by James Taylor), and "I Will Go Sailing No More". There are just too many to list!
You should do a Linda Ronstadt night featuring live performances from around 1976 “ Offenbach “ Germany She was at the peak of her powers with great songs and the finest musicians backing her onstage I’m not a betting man but if I was I’d go a million to one you’d not be disappointed…… Cheers from Australia btw
Linda Ronstadt is one of the best ever. Aaron Neville actually recorded a Country Album a few years after this. Would like to see you react to some of the songs on the 2 Old Standards album's she did with Nelson Riddle Orchestra in the very early 80's. She revived allot of great stuff from the 20's to the 40's. Both albums were extremely successful. She even did a tour with Nelson Riddle and had a couple of TV specials. Speaking of Duet's, how about reacting to Michael Martin Murphy and Holly Dunn from 1987 "A Face In The Crowd" It was nominated for a Grammy and was a consensus Top 5 Country Hit. Then there is Lari White and Travis Tritt "Helping Me Get Over You" from 1997, that they wrote together. The video has over 30 million views on RUclips. Lari was my girl in the 90's. You will be hard pressed to find a better voice. She is Linda Ronstadt level. Lari has a couple other Duet's one with a guy named Esra Tuaolo from 1996 "Another Broken Heart" that will bowl you over, and another with Toby Keith "Only God Could Stop Me Loving You" from her 1998 Album "Stepping Stone". Holly Dunn also has a duet with Kenny Rogers called "Maybe" from I think 1989. Another very underrated Duet is Kelly Willis and Kevin Welch with a song they wrote together called "That'll Be Me" from 1993. There is a video of them performing it live here on RUclips, taken from the old American Music Shop series on TNN. (Nashville Network). Then there is Marty Brown and Joy Lynn White "I Love Only You" from 1994. A few reaction channels have featured "Helping Me Get Over You" before, but not very many. I found one reaction to Anita Cohcran and Steve Wariner "What If I Said" which was a Number 1 Country hit in 1998. Should be allot more for both these awesome songs. All the others I mentioned I have yet to find anyone that reacted to them so far. I've been searching.
5:12 You're confusing someone named Rhonda from a movie and Linda Ronstadt, the singer. Linda's album "Cry Like A Rainstorm, Howl Like The Wind" features some duets with Neville.. Linda is responsible for The Eagles. They were her backup band prior to Linda going solo. Linda was the first female rock star to fill stadium concerts and is known as the Queen of Rock. She was hugely successful in Rock, Pop, Mariachi, Opera & Country. She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. Every singer looks up to her.
you should watch the kennedy center honor for Linda. Aaron did this duet with Trisha Yearwood for her. OMG cried like a baby. So beautiful, with Linda watching.
Here are two good duets of sorts Suzi Quatro & Chris Norman --- Stumbling in Not traditional duet but two bands Lee kernaghan & the Wolfe Brothers Damn good mates
If you think they had chemistry, check out Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill with "How Great Thou Art". This is a duet, that even if you are not religious, will have to get you admiring the voices.
Yes they sure very good friends!! Unfortunately Linda R is very sick, where she can no longer sing. You should check out both of their catalogs, Aaron comes from a big musical family. My first being introduced to his music was in the late 60’s when a I was a preteen, the track he became famous with “Tell it like it is”. He has also been referred to the guy with the voice of an Angel.
@@Texas_Love a few of the top of my head “Don’t take away my heaven” , Everybody plays the fool” and for the Holidays he has this great album “Aaron Neville’s soulful Christmas”, you can hear Aaron’s angel voice. The guy got better with age, saw him a year before the pandemic, unfortunately he decided to retire.
If you are looking for a high quality next level harmonized presentation, you need to also dig into acapella. Pentatonix will never dissapoint! "Hallelujah" should be a good song to hear from them. (They will also increase your subs. like crazy. (caution though, their copyright is quite strick. You may have to mask a good part of the video and at least 3 pauses. but is all worth it.) Get some fun facts before hand (names ect) so you can fill your pauses. Anyway, thought to suggest this to your channel. There are other acapella groups, but like Pentatonix, none!
I can't stop listening to this, it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen or heard!
You need to listen to more Linda.
Such a beautiful song and performance by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt!!❤❤😢
Piel de gallina ,no me canso de escucharlos desde los 90s

That's when the term "getting it done" truly applies! Amazing performance by both. Wow
He has the voice of an angel. Can't stop my heart from loving you is one of my faves from Aaron.
what a smash hit this was, i loved it and still love it, beautiful

I heard where Linda called Aaron her singing soulmate. The two mesh together perfectly
They really do, truly stunning!
Do check out "La Charreada" by Linda, her versatility is unmatched.
Aww, Linda was lovely. This duet was sooo pretty.
His last name is pronounced the same as level.
That song is super untouchably and arguably romantically powerful
I just love this song.
Beautiful love song
This song was our wedding waltz 30 years ago and we still feel the same only a deeper love now ❤❤❤😊
Definitely in top ten duets

Barry and Robin Gibb wrote and produced the whole album "Guilty", just for Barbara.
Hear hear. Gave the same suggestion in another reaction. Goosebumps all around. Barry Gibb would have been perfect for this one as well.
If your looking for duets a great one is Barry Gibb and Barbara Streisand, "What Kind of Fool" just one of several they did together.
