Thanks for the video. Did this mod this last weekend and it went easy thanks to you. I might be crazy but it feels like my truck has more power now that the plate moved.
Excellent video! Exactly what I was looking for. I also live in Texas and believe as you do, that it is ridiculous to have a front license plate that totally messes up the looks of vehicles.
Thanks for the tip on opening up those clips. I wouldn't have gotten that done unscathed. I used a flat bracket from O'Reilly for $2.98 and security bolts. Took a bit of force to get the bumper cover back on all the way. I sat in front of the truck and pushed with my feet and it snapped in tight. I figure the powered louvers are there for a reason and I don't want to inhibit airflow to the turbo/intercooler. My state requires a front plate.
You can remove the louvers but need to leave the actuator connected near the top of the radiator or it'll throw a CEL. No issues in snowy winter and a month of summer without the louvers on my 2.7
After watching your video my question is could you have done the same thing without removing the big piece and having to remount it or was that a necessary step?
I really like this idea. I did it with a cheesy L shaped plate relocator but my auto car wash air dryer bent the bracket once already and I don't think it'll hold in the long run.
So I am also from TEXAS and totally agree about the stupid front license plates. So apparently the EcoBoost come with the bracket on the other side for some kind of special cooler that is on it. I have a 2011. Not sure if the newer gens have them that way as well or not. Nice vid though
I have a 2017 Ecoboost 2.7, and yes they stopped offsetting the license plate from the factory. I assume because there is a sensor behind the plastic on the driver's side. I have a base model XL, will be pulling it apart today, and if there's no sensor, I'll put the license plate on drivers side, not passenger side like this video.
Thanks for the video. I was looking for a bracket and would prefer not to drill into this section but I sure don’t want to put the plate in front of the air port for the lower inter cooler. That just seems not smart to do.
Informative video but what was the reason for doing this? Overheating issues? I’m thinking of adding flush mount led cubes to those black plastic bumper tities you took off or cubes in the openings next to the front plate. Any opinions? Anyone?

Thank you . This is exactly what I was looking for

Thanks Glenn!
I think you did a great job. I have been considering doing something like this myself. Thank you for the idea.
Exactly what I was looking for I was going to do the exact same thing just wanted to see how it looked!
Great video! Totally what I’m looking for. Happy to see the back.
Thanks for watching Steve!

I know what you mean. Thanks for watching!

When the video ends the license plate showed
Great job bro, thanks for the video! It was an easy process to do!
After watching your video my question is could you have done the same thing without removing the big piece and having to remount it or was that a necessary step?
No, but I wanted to make sure nothing was behind the pad.
@@ricardosworkshop That was brilliant, cuz I would have covered up or drilled into the sensor... ;-)

Thanks for watching Jordany!

Nice man! thanks for the video!
Thanks for watching Rudy! 👍

Thanks for watching Bryan. I was thinkkng the same but the plastic section probably cost the same as any bracket out there.
This is what I ended up having to do for a 2018 lariat because the first 3 didn’t work
Could you just screw the plate on the rubber directly?
Yes... you could screw is directly to the plastic but it wouldn't look as "clean"
Great,ya I wanted the more air flow. Can't wait to move my plate, it looks better to..👍🏁👻
Nice job👍👍
Good video. Question is that a camera under your front Ford Emblem. If so is it OEM or aftermarket and where did you get it. Thanks
Thanks for watching! Its oem. Has one on each mirror too.
It's a platinum best of the best
Is this just a cosmetic thing, or is there any sort of performance benefit? Thanks!
Well... it should allow more airflow to the intercooler. So some performances benefits.
@@ricardosworkshop Sounds good. Nice mod and thanks for the video.
A buddy did this with his license plate and stuck a light bar in the old spot. That's what I was looking at doing as well.

did you later remove those 2 ugly ass bars left behind?
Yes... gone
I have to wonder how someone can do a how to Without saying what year the truck is?
Lol... 2015+
Looks goofy without the grille thats there when there is no front plate.
Hey Ricardo, where did you get the Mexican flag emblem?
From Ebay. I've tried looking for it again but can't find it.
@@ricardosworkshop thanks man, I’ll try to search for it on eBay too.
Md is the same way do not need lic. plate in the front
LBY0011 it's at the end of the video
Looks sweet
Y
Airflow! Y not?

Thanks for watching Darth! It's not symmetrical but it's very functional!
Very good job.
