As a singer/songwriter who does this same thing with some contemporary country/pop and classic rock music, this is absolutely brilliant.
Often there are things you know, but have never completely understand until you hear it explained by a master. Wonderful!

How amazing that the orchestra is able to play all the variations required for the detailed explanations. It must be extremely difficult. That means the orchestra can play this music in their sleep and dreams. Bravo!

It is in keeping with Beethoven's love of musical jokes that the 5th was originally envisaged as his 4th Symphony (hence all the game of fours that runs throughout) but he got stuck in the middle and set it aside for what became the 4th Symphony (opus 60) and only picked it up again afterward, thus spoiling the joke somewhat but leaving us nevertheless with a phenomenally enjoyable piece of music.

This is great. In Australia we had the late great Richard Gill who did the same with the same humour and clarity. I wonder if they knew each other.

Thank you! A new Leonard Bernstein perhaps? It would be really fun if there was a way to print out the listening guide.

Not super-important, but I _think_ I’m seeing violas on the right, opposite the violins, and ‘celli behind the violas? Or are those the seconds? Unfortunately, most of camera shots are short enough that it’s hard to be sure what I’m seeing…

Sorry…. drop all the hyperbole and theatrics.. the music stands alone as a pinnacle of human endeavour and has touched the hearts of billions without the need for “exploration or analysis”. Our ears are our education.
