I am 57 years old. My husband and our two teenagers went away for the weekend, so in my free time I got bought a two-sided contour cream stick and tried out this video. I loved the results! But I didn't realize just how great it was until my family returned home later that day. My husband kept staring at my face, looking perplexed and puzzled. Finally, I asked what he was looking at. He said, "You! What have you done? You look ten years younger! How did you do it?"
Thank you so much! This is the big old blind spot in online makeup tutorials!!! I've been desperately struggling trying to properly contour my aging face. The irony is that 20 year olds barely need any makeup to look amazing and they use more than we should. This video highlights the transformative power of makeup and gives me hope. I am so happy I found this. Thank you again!
At 52 years old, there’s not a lot of life changing things left that I would be willing to put the time or effort into. This video made that minuscule cut! I watched the video a week or so ago and made a mental note that I’d have to give it a try. Today I did just that. I paused the video to copy each step of the technique and, when I was finished, my jaw about hit the floor. I looked incredible! The most amazing part of those results is that I didn’t have any type of contouring or highlighting makeup. I used white eyeshadow, dark brown eyeshadow and Dollar Store makeup brushes!! I wore my new look to the store to remedy that situation because this is definitely something I’m going to do every time I put makeup on from this day forward. I took selfies and told all my family and friends how awesome I looked . Thank you!!!
I’m 42 and started a channel last year just because of that factor alone. At some point I will get into makeup and skincare. Recently I started using Rentinol so I’m really learning a lot about what Angie has taught me too. I’m Hello Humble Home on RUclips...the best way to find a RUclips channel for older women just search keywords like “over40” or “over 40” which is the most popular keyword for the mature woman...and then follow it with other keywords such as “fashion“… “Make up“… “Skin care“… Essentially searching for more older women’s channel’s.
Wow, you made that look so easy. Im in my 60"s and just about was giving up on working with make up. Now I'm pumped. Going to go out and purchase some new make up.. Thank you .
I’m 32, but my skin has recently lost a bunch of elasticity for whatever reason, and what I was doing no longer sat right on my skin. This is the best tutorial I’ve ever come across. Thank you!
I know this is old but I just found it. I am 52 and had pretty much worn my makeup the same for years. You are a breath of fresh air and I love the basic step by step for the contouring. This wasn’t over the top like some I’ve seen where it was too dramatic. Thanks so much, I loved it
I'm 28, but with stress over the last 5 years I've noticed tremendous changes in my visual appearance. My skin texture has drastically changed, and with weight fluctuations many areas of my face look foreign to me now. This video gave me a lot of hope and confidence to try these tips. You are stunning. I hope to have as beautiful skin as you in my future years.❤
I THINK it must be harder for a pretty woman to age than for someone like me who was never pretty at any stage in life. That said, I take your advice to heart and put on make up myself, and guess what? I am still not "pretty", but surprisingly, I am quite a bit more comfortable when I go out in public. Instead of trying to become wallpaper, I actually feel confident enough to speak to others or just smile at them. You wouldn't think it would have an effect on someone nearing 70, but it has and I do so much appreciate it. Thank you for so kindly sharing your scientific research for the things you needed to use with your improved skills to create the beauty that has made you happiest. It made me happy too, not just for myself, but to see you get happier and happier with your results too. Be well. Thank you again for sharing such personal insights. bye now
Some of the most famous women weren't conventional beauties of the day. If beauty was defined at that moment as curly hair and blue eyes then she might have had red hair and freckled skin. But these women had a way about them, caring, made you feel as if you were important and you could see that they listened when you spoke. They laughed a lot, smiled mostly instead, joked, had caring souls that everyone could see. It wasn't just about the outward beauty.
I came from a very small town where you knew everything about everyone. Think Mayberry USA. We didn't judge by looks we judged by character. How kind someone was was #1. Pretty woman ..hmmm.. Outside beauty is easy to measure. But only superficial people will measure the totality of a person by outside appearance. My mom told me that the best make up women can put on is a smile. Do I think HotandFlashy is beautiful ? Yes I do. Why? Because she is teaching other women to enhance their beauty on the outside if they CHOOSE to do so. I am 70 and those who know and love me ... love me because I am who I am. Who I've showed that I am for all of my years. No make up is needed around them. You be who you are with or without make up Daisy..Your beautiful soul speaks loud and clear through your words. Love baby ( Childhood nickname)
I love your story. I agree with what people are saying about the word "pretty" and what it means. I think it's more important to be beautiful than pretty and it is in your spirit and how you carry yourself as well as being rare and kind. :-)
im so excited to try this! I've been trying to understand contouring, but it made no sense as a 44 yo watching younger people contouring just didn't seem applicable
As someone over 50 who has never ever used much make up at all because I prefer as natural as possible and I’m never willing to take the time to do it, this was an incredibly awesome video! While it takes more time than what I’ve ever been willing to try, it looks super natural when you’re done and I love that!! I will definitely start watching your videos as I need to learn how to do some make up because I’m in the process of starting a RUclips channel.
She’s great, you won’t regret it!! Very very honest and knowledgeable! I started watching in my 30s now 41 and feel I’m ahead of the game bc of this Chanel! I mean who knows if I am but what matters is how you feel and I feel fab after I follow these videos!
I agree 100%! She really is awesome. Honest and open with everything, and gives very thorough reviews. She knows her stuff, especially for those of us in her age range. I especially enjoy Foundation Fridays, which is what I really came looking for. (Of course I got sidetracked with this one. 🤭) I’ve been out of this favorite RUclips “rabbit hole” of makeup/skincare for a good while, but felt the need to check in for some fresh makeup/skincare tips. I always start with Angie! ♥️
Hey Angie - I play a game called Word Crush and there is an ad for moisturizer with a clip of you and it says you are 68 years old and loving this product. Many ads are fake and this of course is one. I hate that they use people to sell products that way. You’re beautiful!
You’re such a nice woman who shares all of the special ideas and how to use them all. Being an older woman too, I really want to thank you. As you know everything you used before probably isn’t right for your skin older.
I am amazed how this highlight and sculpt took 10 years easily off of you. BTW you look amazing even without makeup but showing the before and after you could see some of the trouble spots disappear in the after shot. I’m actually excited to see if it will work on me. For some reason I always put my highlight on top of my foundation but I think putting it under makes it look less conspicuous. I wanted to agree with other comments....I think out of the many tutorials I’ve seen this one actually shows what the difference with the before and after and I have to say it is one of the most useful I’ve ever seen! Thank You for keeping us mature skin women in the Know!
Thank you so much for all your videos! I'm 53 and it's so nice to see someone I can relate to. I love all your videos on makeup and especially love your skin care videos. Congratulations on the women to watch and look forward to what's to come. All the best to you and your family this holiday season!
Very nice Angie....I am going to try this today. Wayne Goss does this application, but since he is much younger, and when he uses a model she is usually very young. Glad to finally see someone our age doing this under foundation and looking so natural. I have tried it, but there was a couple things I was doing wrong for sure...thank you for sharing..xoxo
Thank you - I like your illustration of products & treating your viewers like they’re intelligent! You don’t talk, talk, talk - you say it & move on! I like that. I’m 66 and learning what I can from you to minimize my aging - I have a crush on the neighbor, so I’m trying to get his attention! I thank you.again.
Fantastic. Im 65 and had no idea about contouring. You looked so beautiful and the contours appeared naturally. Very subtle. Loved that. Will buy all of the products you recommended.
You are beautiful! You do great job with the makeup and look so beautiful with it on! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Women helping women! Just Beautiful! Thanks
I am 40 and have been following you for years. Ive bought all the products you mention in your day/night regimen. I also bought the nuface. You are awesome!!!
I am so grateful for your honest and professional guidance. You truly are amazing, and helping all us ladies 50 plus: and only getting started! THANK YOU.
I just found this video and learned so much and have never watched your videos but am going to start now. I’m 53 and try to do my makeup like the young ones. No wonder my contour and highlight didn’t look right and didn’t hide and brighten certain spots of my face. Thank you for the tutorial! 😊
I am in awe. Your video is greatly appreciated and was sooooo greatly needed. Finally, someone who explains what happens to a mature face as well as explains how to contour correctly for mature women. Take a bow, thank you, thank you, thank you.
I have a mature face. I’m in my 60s but I’m a slow learner when it comes to applying makeup suited to my age. My skin is good but dry. I tried this technique today (after giving my face a pamper last night). I kind of adjusted the technique a little to suit my face and I used the products I had to hand. I followed the principles though that you demonstrated so well and wow it really worked. I had to go out to the supermarket today and literally felt 10 years younger. It’s now going be my default routine. Thank you very much. 😊
I’m 30 and I really found this so helpful! I have dry skin and deep nasolabial folds and fine lines under my eyes so most of this was super helpful for me thank you so much 😊
I've never contoured in my life. I use some highlight here and there. I'm 42 and thought it's time to try something new. After watching this, I went to the mirror and got started right away. It's a very nice technique. Thanks for looking out for us older folk. You look fabulous.
Wow, I love your teaching style, you take your time, carefully explaining the how and the why. But PLEASE oh PLEASE do a powder contouring tutorial. I bought the Anastasia contour kit, it turned out to be the powder kind. I did not know there are 2 kinds, cream and powder. I bought it 6 months ago, and have never used it so, YES please do a powder contour teacher! My big nose needs a lot of help!
I"m not big on wearing make-up but suddenly started 2 years ago after I turned 50 :) Since I am not one to follow the masses, I loved the way you do your contouring and highlighting, especially since it is done before you add the foundation. I will definitely try this. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
This was a fantastic tutorial..I went away with new tips and actually realized I was doing a couple things incorrectly. Thank you Thank-you. Appreciate it.
THE BEST over a certain age video regarding blending highlighting and contouring! KUDOS to you! I’m so glad I tuned in tonight. I hope to make this my go-to video for these issues in facial makeup. Awesome job!
Thank you, that's a great tutorial. I've been contouring my face since I was 14 and I am 38 now. On my face I have a similar length to yours between the eyes and the lips and I absolutely hate this on my face, as I find my facial futures not as balanced as they could have been and that makes me not as pretty as my face would have been if that distance between the eyes and the mouth was a bit shorter (because it was shorter, when I was in my early 20s and my face looked so much prettier even without contouring). Over the years of trials and mistakes I've learned that to make that distance appear shorter, and to make a face appear wider, you contour everything like you do except: 1. you never never never highlight your chin as it prolongs the face, and instead you highlight just a thin line above your top lip 2. you contour dark shade under your cheekbone nearly up to your lips and then you put your blusher kind of up and to the ear, in a way you create a triangle - ear - lip - vertically up - back to the ear ( you can see same way it is done on many photos of Jennifer Lopez). I know, usually it is recommended to use it just under the cheekbone and I've been doing this for a long time and all the time everything on the face looked good except I hated that fact that the mouth is not fitting into all this... and then one day somehow I contoured dark shade much longer longer (like on many of Jennifer Lopes photos) and it made my face prettier instantly as somehow your mouth is not on it's own anymore but all areas of the face are together and flow one into another.
Wow! I have just discovered your channel a few days ago and have been watching all the videos. I must say: your skin in 2016 looked much worse than your skin looks in 2022 (8 years later). I was amazed by how incredibly beautiful your skin is in 2022....so all the skin care, makeup, procedures you did worked! I have a lot of sun damage on my face and this gives me hope that it could be somehow reversed, or at least improved. Thank you for sharing your journey, it is so helpful. It is so difficult for me to find the right foundation, concealer etc. and your recommendations are almost always perfect for me. Thank you
Thank you so much for your excellent video. I've tried others but they usually spend 20. minutes saying hello to their friend and telling us about their personal life. I love how you get down to business and give explicit explanations. I look forward to the next video.
I recently found your you tube channel and I love your videos. Thank you for keeping things simple! I love that you make simple steps I can easily follow without getting overwhelmed and frustrated! I’m just starting with contouring, so I appreciate this video so much! Thank you!
I made the mistake of trying to take tutorials from 20 something year old's for my make-up when I'm 45. It was a fail and I'm so glad to find your tips here. Thank you.
OMG, thank you, Angie! While I love watching the younger beauty You Tubers, it's so true that at 51, I can't paint a hi-light under my eyes or it creases and makes the wrinkles look worse. I don't even use any concealor because of that, though I could use some. :) Thanks for this awesome video! :)
Kay DeLaMater I liked your comment. I actually saved it to go back and try them. But this! I'm sorry and I apologize in advance if I'm overlooking something.. But are really wining because your comment was just that! Another comment! It was very helpful.. So for that I thank you.. But if you,, if you really expected to get all the attention when you're on Angie's channel and all you did was leave a comment on your 4 tips! Did I miss something?? Because that's what I'm taking from it.. 🤔
summer butterfly - thank you - I am in complete agreement! It’s a real buzz kill when you see a great video and want to see if other viewers tried the tips commented about them and then you read something nasty or snarky. We need to be positive and nice to each other at all costs! That being said, I tried Angie’s contouring tip for concealing nasolabial folds and it is a game changer for me. For those of you who haven’t tried it yet, grab your concealer and head straight for the mirror Lol.
Thank you for this video! I used to be so good at doing my makeup in my 20s and early 30s, then I became a SAHM and basically forgot how to do "night-out" makeup, plus my face has totally changed in my mid-40s. This video made so much more sense than when I watch the 19-yr-olds do their dramatic contouring. I can't wait to try it out.
thank you for this.I was always concerned about whether or not women my age shld wear this kind of make up and when too much is too much.. thank you for explaining highlighting so thoroughly..
Thank you SO MUCH! I've wasted hours on sketchy pretty useless contouring RUclips videos this weekend. This has all I need to get started, and it took about 15 minutes!
Angie, I'm 54 yrs old. Unfortunately I am the woman that gravity has played some nasty tricks on my face. I've loved make up since I was 14. (It was SO easy then). I ABSOLUTELY love your technique. You are right on with the trouble spots. I have been struggling & not enjoying make up since I hit 50. These techniques will definitely help & I hope make make-up fun again. Yes I would LOVE a powder contour! ABSOLUTELY STUNNING JOB!
I use 1. Australian natural Placenta Serum and Moisturizer cream 2. Placenta B.B cream, 3. Mineral Loose powder ( Laura M, very little amount) 4. Pressed foundation ( light touch). I am 55, but after using the placenta products, all my winkles were gone. I buy them from Amazon. People say I look like 25. I used them for 1 year, and I don’t need to go to the skincare place anymore. Placenta is amazing. It is the best for the skin treatment.
Angie, a big thank you for a fantastic lesson on cream contouring/highlighting for us mature women. The finished look was beautiful. Your step by step tutorial was very easy to understand and follow. Now I am off to see how you do the same with powder. TFS!!! Hope you are enjoying a wonderful Easter weekend! Lorna
This is probably then most helpful make-up video Ive seen so far. I have not worn make-up in 7 years. I am almost 40. I miss lipstick. But I want to look clean and not chalky with the foundation. This is a great video. I need to contour. If I actually wear make-up again. Thank you for what you do.
I am LOVING your methods! I am 56 & have had many natural changes in my body as the years have gone on...We can camouflage many areas. However the face...not so much. You have nailed it girlfriend😊!!!! Thank You🙏😍
GracesCorner same here.. Angie has been my number one mature channels for years and I always go back and rewatch videos, like this one, to pickup tips I may have missed.. totally agree

I have been a professional makeup artist for about 55 years. Everything you do was designed for the stage. The thing that makes this work in real life is the new light weight products. I used oil based products and at the finish I would powder them heavily then spray them soaking wet and sponge them finished. Lips and mascara was last. You have become a great makeup artist. We could have used you for our choruses. I get to make people look old or deformed or like somebody famous. Kudos.
I've tried so many different contours but none of them actually made my skin or face look younger until I saw your video thanks you for all your tips on contouring older skin worked really well big thumbs up from me xxx
I know this video is dated(much like us lol) but I want to thank you for doing a mature contor/ highlight vid! Most of all, I want to thank you for focusing on correcting nose imperfections! I was born with a weird nose bump "thing" right where you got hit, and since I started contouring, I've been struggling to mask that. Your tutorial helped sooooo much! It made me realize that I've been applying product all wrong, but now I've got the knowledge to do it right! Thank you, thank you, thank you for your channel- which has THE best name ever, lol! You're the best!
Lovely! I'm so glad you brought attention to the fact that contouring and highlighting are SO very different for women of mature ages because of the very fact of skin variations. Not to mention products have to change as well. Less is more for real life makeup. And I love your tricks on the placement of the contours and highlight. 👍😉 great vid. If you like the velvet, you should try the Les Beiges powder in #10 to set under eyes and shade #50 is a great mid tone to contour with. Reason being is it doesn't cake under eye and is virtually undetectable on the skin. You can set or touch up or even bronze and contour with this line. #loveChanelproducts!
Hello! I'm in my mid 30ties but I have the same face shape. I never knew how to make my lower cheeks look fuller. This is really an eye opener. I don't't use foundation but I just highlighted the same parts like you did and then finished it off with BB cream. Thank you so much❤
Does under eye concealer have to be set wiith powder? Powder is completely drying my under eyes out. Seems like my skin hates powder and makes my lines more visible
catmo59 if you have a beauty blender that you dab the concealer in with, before you dab spray it with your makeup setting spray, then blend the concealer out. It really helps. also, Ben nye or rcma setting powders don't seem as dry as some others!
I have the same problem,I have very dry skin,so before I apply my makeup I wash ,my face ,tone ,moisturize a lot I have 2 different moisturizers I put on both with Sunscreen ,I put my eye cream on,wait for it to absorb some into my skin, then apply my contour ,concealer ,foundation.and lately I have been having a lot of issues with the powder being too drying and settling into my fine lines,it's as if the poster soaks up all the moisture on my Face ,once I have makeup on it looks like I didn't even moisturize. The foundations I have been using seemed to stop working also ,and look awful on me,so I definitely need to get a different foundation.
Shelbi DeSomma Try oils, apricot kernel is my favorite, a lot of people like coconut oil but didn't work for my face, so try a couple, when you find the right one, you'll know within a fewo days. Put it on before your moisturizer and let it absorb then blot your face with a paper towel to take the excess, when my skin is ridiculous (flaky, in winter mostly) I put of drop of oil in my foundation. Don't forget to exfoliate at least twice a week, I use a daily face scrub, morning and night. As far as a powder goes maybe look into bella pierre, it's like bare minerals but actually works lol. All other powders make me look like a 3 tier wedding cake, also less is more use less foundation, cream, powder then you think you need, you can always add layers and it'll go on easier, think of painting a wall, a couple thin coats compare to one thick one, all these things made such a difference for me. And for foundation I swear by MAC most make up artist use it for a reason, it really is the best. PS: A LOT of moisturizers actually would dry my skin out, you have to be mindful of ingredients, there's a lot of them but here is a list of the 5 most common ones>> www.womenshealthmag.com/beauty/avoid-dry-skin Good Luck xo
I just want you to know ty very much for creating this step by step process for concealer and contouring. It was a super helpful experience . I tried it out today on my face and was really happy with my results. Ty again.
Wow! You're a Godsend! I'm heading to the drugstore now to pick up everything you just demonstrated! I've been watching a lot of RUclips videos on "over 50" make up, and you are superior! I had no idea I could use concealer and highlighter in this way! I'm super excited and feeling hopeful!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your diligence and wealth of knowledge! God bless you, girl and everyone you love!!!
I wholeheartedly agree! After my smashing success following this tutorial using eyeshadows, I went to the store in search of a contour and highlight kit. I found one in a duel ended cream and a 4 shade powder kit. I bought both so I’d love to learn the powder version.
Thank you so much for this. I am quickly approaching my 40s, and most videos are designed for a younger crowd. Its wonderful to know that as we age, we are not destined to dated makeup looks or routines.
I recently started doing more of the contouring in my makeup for work. I am 58 and this video was very helpful in my effort to achieve the right coverage for a natural and dewy look. Thanks!
Fan-Freakin-Tastic!!!!!!!! Such great information!! The before and after pics at the end are incredible! Thank you so much for this...YES...please do a powder version too!! - Michelle
As much as I like the results a lot I'm not sure I want that much thickness of makeup on my face. I love your tutorials Angie I could sit and watch them all afternoon.
OmGOSH. You are aware and completely in tune with pretty much everyone’s aging concerns with make up. You are honest and forthright about all the before and after issues with application and results of so many products. I appreciate that you have taken the time to help educate us all in a way that is for the average woman. Thank you. One question...do you use the same brush for blending the highlight and contour? Do you wash it daily or just use the next day with what remained from the prior days usage. Thanks🥰
I’m 51 with a long face like yrs. thank you so much for this video I’ve been doing the “ baking” under my eyes and omg noooooooo!!!! So you taught me today!! Can’t wait to try yr way !
Very helpful. I like the way you explaining. Im tired from RUclipsrs which only concentrating on Saling product. You are great! Make up look natural and explanation just amazing, you explaining not just what to put but actually the reason why. Bravo! I'm waiting for your next video!!
This is a great video. This the best way to contour; you are right about it looking more natural than doing it with powder contour. I've watched this three times so I can remember how to do it, and can't wait to try it. I'm going to try to pick up that NYX cream contour kit tomorrow, or an equivalent. Thank you for the great videos! Merry Christmas! from Texas ✨❤️✨
I can’t wait to try this because I have been doing it all wrong and I’m over 50. This makes sense. Thank you Angie. I really like your vlogs. You always give such sound advise and suggestions.
I know I'm a little late to the party but thank you so much for this. My under eye bags appeared almost overnight and are a nightmare to cover. Now I realise that watching the younger RUclipsrs covering theirs was detrimental to me covering mine as my skin is more mature now (boo!) I'm definitely giving this a try. Thank you for being so precise and explaining why you are doing certain things in certain areas, it really, really helps. Thank you so much
This is amazing. Need tips for my daughters wedding party. Thank you. My mother who died last year aged 89 she taught me highlighting many years ago. But Angie this is great. I must redo my make up
I love this!! I am soon 30 and am already seeing changes in my skin. So I felt like I needed some advice on how to do my makeup in the upcoming years. Maybe a little early but I felt this was still so helpful! It taught me to do my makeup based on MY face and not every face should be done the same way! Thank you!
Love this video! Fab. I was worried to see all the pale contour cream all over the face and drying up! Cannot believe how nice the finished look is. Thank you.
Angie, your skin looks EVEN prettier today than when you gave this contouring presentation almost 7 years ago *jaw dropping* I cannot wait to buy your brushes. You are my go-to 50+ Guru *big hugs*
Wonderful video, just what I was looking for. I’m going to try it soon as I get brushes and contour cream which is soon as I look up what you were using. Thanks Jean
wow i must say this is the first video for mature makeup that actually makes sense! if this makes sense lol! i have been searching for how to wear my foundation now that im 40. I find my routine, making me look older and seeing this video gives me insight of what i have been doing wrong! thank you so much for this video!
Very interesting to watch! I wouldn't highlight the actual nasiolabial folds (the lines), I'd put the light color where the shadows are right outside of the lines, but not on the lines themselves.
She is 45 years maximum....mature have 55 years/60....
@@ulysseitac4476 yeah
It’s amazing what makeup can do.
Yes!! Perfect results
@@ulysseitac4476 In my opinion, the woman in the video post, is older than her 40s. I can tell by looking at the neck and her hands.
I was 35 when you posted this. I’m now almost 42 and this is timeless gold finding this video. Love love love.
Hello, please watch Watchman on the Wall 88 on RUclips
I am 62 yrs old-This was the best tutorial I have ever watched!!!Thank you!
Same
I don't know about anyone else, but this is one of the best makeup tutorials i've seen for older women EVER! I can't thank you enough.
i agree
18:36. Finally. An intelligent, thorough explanation of how to contour the face. Thank you, merci! Diane
This is the first contour video that has ever made sense!
I really wish there were more channels like yours for woman that are 40+
Here, here, I agree! 🙂
I’m 42 and started a channel last year just because of that factor alone. At some point I will get into makeup and skincare. Recently I started using Rentinol so I’m really learning a lot about what Angie has taught me too.
I’m Hello Humble Home on RUclips...the best way to find a RUclips channel for older women just search keywords like “over40” or “over 40” which is the most popular keyword for the mature woman...and then follow it with other keywords such as “fashion“… “Make up“… “Skin care“…

She said labial folds and I giggled. Maybe at 42 I'm not that "mature" after all
Wow, you made that look so easy.
Be well. Thank you again for sharing such personal insights. bye now
To me you sound like a real beauty, beauty comes from within, also a beautiful name Daisy

Looks good but way too much time to go through all that.
Do you usually put the foundation over the contour? First time I've seen this done.
Woh! Finally a great understandable tutorial for contouring mature skin. Really liked it.
I like the extra tech info she adds on things like nasal folds, etc. The beauty is in the details.
Over the years of trials and mistakes I've learned that to make that distance appear shorter, and to make a face appear wider, you contour everything like you do except: 1. you never never never highlight your chin as it prolongs the face, and instead you highlight just a thin line above your top lip
2. you contour dark shade under your cheekbone nearly up to your lips and then you put your blusher kind of up and to the ear, in a way you create a triangle - ear - lip - vertically up - back to the ear ( you can see same way it is done on many photos of Jennifer Lopez).
Thank you
This is the best contour tutorial I’ve seen.
Woman of a Certain Age love it thanking you Lin Nottinghamshire england xxxxxxxx
Use a dark concealer vs light 😀
Kay DeLaMater I liked your comment. I actually saved it to go back and try them. But this! I'm sorry and I apologize in advance if I'm overlooking something.. But are really wining because your comment was just that! Another comment! It was very helpful.. So for that I thank you.. But if you,, if you really expected to get all the attention when you're on Angie's channel and all you did was leave a comment on your 4 tips! Did I miss something?? Because that's what I'm taking from it.. 🤔
Woman of a Certain Age
summer butterfly - thank you - I am in complete agreement!
You’re so pretty. You don’t need make up. I love your advice. I’m 42 and starting to see so much change in my face. Ty for the advice
Would never have thought of contouring first, great tip I've learnt so much from you Thanks Angie xx

This is probably then most helpful make-up video Ive seen so far. I have not worn make-up in 7 years. I am almost 40. I miss lipstick. But I want to look clean and not chalky with the foundation. This is a great video. I need to contour. If I actually wear make-up again. Thank you for what you do.
i'm 19, i don't know why i'm watching this. i guess you're just pleasant to listen to...
you might have a mom you can do a make tutorial for
maybe thats why you are watching
You better watch it my dear, you will have all these problems one day!!!
Now your able to drink. We get older fast that we don't realize how much time has passed.
I"m 62, and I watch makeup tutorials by younger women. It's interesting.
You are so sweet! Glad you are here! I have two daughters about your age. One is 20 and the other is 18.
I am LOVING your methods! I am 56 & have had many natural changes in my body as the years have gone on...We can camouflage many areas. However the face...not so much. You have nailed it girlfriend😊!!!! Thank You🙏😍
This is a MASTER CLASS Video.. Brava! I don't even wait to like your video's. I just "LIKE" and then watch!
Emerge laser
Haha so true. I do the same!!
Kudos.
Yes, we would love to see a powder contouring video. Thanks for all you do for us Angie.
Yes. Please make a powder contour video.
I've tried so many different contours but none of them actually made my skin or face look younger until I saw your video thanks you for all your tips on contouring older skin worked really well big thumbs up from me xxx
Last comment was from me not my partner JONATHAN wood it's Samantha Richards lol xx
Happy it was helpful Elizabeth!!
You made me laugh. Dated like all of us. LOL
@Mel Mill hahaha awesome! Glad I could make you laugh! 🤣
Excellent advice. Off to buy the NYX contour kit tomorrow! I've been wanting to learn how to do this. Thanks!
Seems like my skin hates powder and makes my lines more visible
catmo59 me too. I've been trying to find a solution for this
catmo59 if you have a beauty blender that you dab the concealer in with, before you dab spray it with your makeup setting spray, then blend the concealer out. It really helps. also, Ben nye or rcma setting powders don't seem as dry as some others!
thanks for the tip
I have the same problem,I have very dry skin,so before I apply my makeup I wash ,my face ,tone ,moisturize a lot I have 2 different moisturizers I put on both with
Sunscreen ,I put my eye cream on,wait for it to absorb some into my skin, then apply my contour ,concealer ,foundation.and lately I have been having a lot of issues with the powder being too drying and settling into my fine lines,it's as if the poster soaks up all the moisture on my
Face ,once I have makeup on it looks like I didn't even moisturize.
PS: A LOT of moisturizers actually would dry my skin out, you have to be mindful of ingredients, there's a lot of them but here is a list of the 5 most common ones>> www.womenshealthmag.com/beauty/avoid-dry-skin
Good Luck xo
I just want you to know ty very much for creating this step by step process for concealer and contouring. It was a super helpful experience . I tried it out today on my face and was really happy with my results. Ty again.
You are so glowing & beautiful, I'm watching this at age 30 & wishing I looked like you!
Yes, Angie, that would be so nice to see the powder version of this wonderful tutorial😊
Beautiful as always!! Would love the powder contour tutorial please!!
Can’t wait to try yr way !
do you have any how to put on lashes?
Thanks Liz~ Happy Holidays to you too!!
Liz Miller nyc
I can’t wait to try this because I have been doing it all wrong and I’m over 50. This makes sense. Thank you Angie. I really like your vlogs. You always give such sound advise and suggestions.
I've learned a lot! I'm going to switch it up in hopes of looking younger. Thank you so much for sharing. You look amazing!💖💖💖
41 yr old here - brilliant content! I find it so much more helpful watching your tips than those of women much younger than me!
Thank you for such a detailed contouring tutorial! 🙏
“40 is the old age of youth; Fifty the youth of old age”...Victor Hugo
Yes, I would love to see a powder contour/highlighter application as that's the make up I currently have...thank you
I know I'm a little late to the party but thank you so much for this. Thank you so much
Thank you! You speak so patiently and concise when you explain the why and how. I learned a lot. Can't wait to go watch more of your videos!
One of the best tutorials I have seen. Thank you!
I watched, followed your instructions and... LOVE the way my makeup came out today! Used SEINT! Thanks Angie!
Hello Doreen, how are you doing today.
Yes please do a powder contour video😀
I’m o Wessex with all of your videos. I’m so great full for all your knowledge in painting an older face.
Yes, please, do a video with powers over foundation.
Beautiful. I wonder what you do for easy everyday makeup.
Fabulous vídeo. A powder contouring vídeo would be great.
Here you go: ruclips.net/video/oCYSLEsgvXA/видео.html
Wonderful video, just what I was looking for. I’m going to try it soon as I get brushes and contour cream which is soon as I look up what you were using. Thanks Jean
the most interesting video on countouring that I saw, the others on you tube are all the same!
wow i must say this is the first video for mature makeup that actually makes sense! if this makes sense lol! i have been searching for how to wear my foundation now that im 40. I find my routine, making me look older and seeing this video gives me insight of what i have been doing wrong! thank you so much for this video!
I like that u used the highlight & contour under ur foundation ^.^
Very interesting to watch! I wouldn't highlight the actual nasiolabial folds (the lines), I'd put the light color where the shadows are right outside of the lines, but not on the lines themselves.
