@PhilOfGlimmer Thanks for this magical trip down memory lane! Your playlist has been my constant companion during work lately, and it's pure nostalgia. The tunes take me back to the enchanting world of Harry Potter, making my software development hours a breeze. You're a wizard of musical nostalgia! 🎶⚡ #HarryPotterMagic #NostalgiaJourney
my heart almost stopped when the first seconds of music came in, immediately was taken aback to my childhood, I used to spend hours and hours playing the first three games on my computer
@@ShadeeDraws As someone who hasn't gone back to it as an adult, I remember that I'd walk around the castle and grounds trying to find every possible bean and card (I couldn't collect all the cards despite the effort), I'd see stuff I couldn't use yet cause I didn't have the spell and try anyways, I'd explore the castle and see where everything is every time I had to go to a class or something cause I just couldn't remember where to go, I'd go to memorable places from the movies to feel the magic, I'd fight with the npcs at that fighting spot and I bet I lost a lot, and I'd always talk to npcs that were selling stuff to see if I got a good price. Tbh idk how u can play that whole thing in 2 hours 😂😂 it felt like an eternity for me as a kid
Something about the soundtrack for these first few games feel so whimsical and faithful to the books, like it’s the perfect theme for the Harry Potter world I have in my head when I read the books
The Diagon Alley/pause menu theme always reminded me what a busy day at school/college felt like Personally I always liked the game's soundtrack more than the films' which I felt tried too hard to be whimsical Jeremy Soule's work is just naturally whimsical, especially the Philosopher's Stone theme
@PhilOfGlimmer's playlist serves as an absolute game-changer for their work vibe! The magical tunes effortlessly transport them to the enchanting world of Harry Potter, turning coding sessions into a delightful breeze. The musical wizardry at play is truly unmatched. A big thanks to PhilOfGlimmer for this epic nostalgia trip! 🚀🎶 #HarryPotterMagic #NostalgiaMastermind
I've never played a HP game. But Jeremy Soule is one of the best video game soundtrack makers to have ever lived. Hes been making great soundtracks for 20+ years.
@@ALIPSN Hahahaha yes, I should have added it's a hot take, but regardless I still stand by it. I do love John Williams´ HP soundtracks and I listen to them constantly, don't take me wrong, but Jeremy Soule's renditions of the HP universe are the soundtrack of my childhood, they placed a lifelong charm on me and they just hit differently, I just can't get enough of them!
I couldn't notice this as a kid, but now I recognise that the Happy Hogwarts/Neutral Hogwarts themes do have this Renaissance Fair / medieval feel to them which works great. I've always believed that at the end of the day, it's not a book or a movie (although I do like the first 5 books), but HP2 for PC that is my greatest experience with the franchise. It's insane - how many other licensed games out there that are or will be remembered as fondly 20 years after?
I have the very same experience, beyond HP4 the books start being way to political (no magical feeling at all). The true essence of what I loved about Harry Potter was the warm magical feeling, fulfilled with mysteries and wonder everywhere in this huge castle and nothing recreated this emotion more than the first 3 games, especially the 2nd and its half thanks to this soundtrack
AH it's so lovely to encounter someone who only liked the first 5 books! I mean 6 and 7 had so many wtf moments, out of character flip arcs just so the author did not have to think, it was just bad. For me 1-5 are it. Nothing after happened. To quote my wise sister, Rowling stopped giving AF after book 5. Lovely music indeed, returning to the topic a bit. LOL Bella L
I just LOVE the Hogwarts Legacy Greenhouse is literally a loose retelling of the normal Jeremy Soule Harry Potter 1-3 soundtrack. I spend most of my time in there. So awesome!!!
I cant believe 22 years ago I got the philosopher's stone game at 6 years old for pc so I've known Harry's magical world pretty much all my life. Jeremy soule was a great composer I usually put his music in tes 3 since it fits in so well with morrowind vanilla music
Back then I kept getting both OSTs mixed up in my head despite TES and HP games being very different. I only realized later on that they were both the same composer, but you can really feel it.
For the past 2 months I've been listening to this masterpiece during my work as a software developer. It's so calming! So much nostalgia. Thanks Phil! You are a Godsend for the Harry Potter games nostalgia community (:
This is simply magnificent! I played almost all of these games when I was a kid and this takes me back in a fantastic way! Thank you so much for making this! Also, I love how casually Harry is just playing video games during class 😂😂👌👌👌
Ho ho ho! Well, my dear friend, spreading kindness and cheer is always the best way to respond to negativity. You could simply thank the person for taking the time to comment and wish them the happiest of holidays. Remember, love and joy can overcome even the grumpiest of personalities!
I never comment on videos. For the last three months I've listened to this on loop as I study for the bar exam. Just wanted to express my deepest thanks for helping me get through that. Glad I found your channel.
Oh man. The old HP games soundtrack is great. Believe it or not, the music is one of the reasons I have played through Chamber Of Secrets so many times. The track starting at 30:16 is my favorite.
I remember getting a PS2 with Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets for my birthday one year, two things I didn't ask for but accepted the gift happily regardless, never did I think I'd have so much nostalgia for this music, fantastic playlist!
Thank you sooo much for makinf this! I'm a huge HP ⚡ fan, and those games were my childhood. Today I have problems to concetrate and I find this mucic perfect to help me 😊
Something clicked in my brain when I found out that this music was made by Jeremy Soule, the same guy who made the music for Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim.
There's something hilarious about Harry Potter playing the Harry Potter video game. I clicked away for a second and then clicked back and burst out laughing.
oh man those transitions of Soaring Over Hogwarts to Fireseeds from 19:45 to 20:10 and Slytherin Common Room to Grounds at Night from 36:50 to 37:14 were like butter
Just stumbled upon this gem 💎 & WOW, talk about a nostalgia trip! 🚂✨ This mix is the perfect background for studying or just chillin' after a long day. Thanks for putting this together, this is great. Happy Hogwarts (HP2) and the HP2 menu music are the songs that come to mind when I think "Harry Potter music"
hahahahaha i cant believe this, the golden trio watching themselves on the screen also this music is sooo relaxing, I always knew this, even as a kid, that's why I couldn't stop playing hahaha
This is the soundtrack of my childhood I can still remember the locations and events in the game and the emotions I was feeling while playing it.... HP and tCoS is my favourite game for ever and ever
I love the last track, its a shame its only used in a tiny cutscene in HP2 for PS1. Fun fact: it has another version made specifically for HP2, with added strings! Its a beautiful piece.
This playlist makes me thinks about my childhood when i used to play the games on pc as a little kid. The songs you choose are really good. Some are relaxing and some tracks are really peaceful and others feel more like exciting and joyful. I love the Harry Potter games and i'm glad that you made this playlist.
We've really had a particular childhood. Late 90s to early 2000s games were something to grow up with. I don't think it can ever compare to what came before or after. It was a product of its time.
There was something special about these Hogwarts games up until Prisoner of Azkaban. Not sure if that was because we were younger and our imagination filled the spaces that graphics couldn't do back then or that the games were just much better in overall atmosphere in general. I loved exploring Hogwarts
Hey chief do us all if not the entire world a favor ........................... please don't take down this video its very relaxing and it helps me study thank you and have a nice day.
