I always Ioved the concept of olaf and warwick where you get more just run to an enemy, auto, get more sustain the lower your health is,and see whether the enemy has enough damage to get past your low hp. I'm excited to see another addition to this playstyle

And both Zoe and Briar wear "shoes" that don't actually cover their feet. Maybe someone at Riot needs a visit from the FBI idk. As an attack speed drain tank enthusiast I'm still interested in the kit but it could be hard to enjoy it knowing she will probably be a scuffed Aatrox. At the moment I kinda like Bel'veth when you get the ball rolling with her. But her model being a floating rag is also pretty underwhelming.

When it is CertainlyT, you know the champion is functionally impossible to balance. When its August the champion is easy to balance, but Riot won't do it.
Eh, august is fine. He makes stuff that's maybe a bit strong but overall not toxic. CertainlyT ONLY made toxic champions. He literally just sat down and went "How can I make this as misserable to play against as possible" - cause his champs are all the ones with by far the least regard for the actual experience of play AGAINST them, which (despite what yasuo players say) is actually important for the games health as a whole. Exception being WW, who is really fun... But that's only cause he was told (and complained about) that he had to keep WW simple and beginner friendly. Last I heard he doesn't make champs anymore though.

They literally just copied vex ult and built her fearing in. The only thing that vex ult does better is reset on takedowns. The whole point of riot new champions is to copy old abilities but make it stronger.

It's like 5 seconds in just cast times, let alone the actual travel distance of both her and her ult. It also has a visual indicator of the fear area around whoever she hits.
I will probably get the shit scared out of me the first time I invade Brair’s jg. But at the same time love the new mechanics they are introducing. Definitely a “unique” kit.
If it works out, could lead to others getting some variation of self taunt in the future. Briars is for going into a frenzy, while another champion could have some measure of area lock down. Like imagine a ult where you put down your zone of denial(think a kind of nullification area that protects allies from certain attacks outside the zone) and self taught against any enemies in the zone. Not what kind of character would fit that ability, but it probably should be interesting.
Briar R seems to be inspired by the Witch from the Left For Dead franchise, her unyielding chase plus bloodlust shriek left quite the similar impression on Briar.
Wouldn't Tenacity be kind of a nonbo though, since it may (if Riot treats it like a debuff CC) lower her own time spent Berserk? That may sound good, but the Berserk is what gives you like your whole combat ability

Yeah, this has always been a stupid argument, and then when something actually new gets added people will complain about "200 years" or "imposible to balance" (Also self taunt and fight until one of us is dead sounds pretty unique to me
how about for an ultimate You freeze an enemy champion up to 6 seconds, covering it in ice that can be attacken by enemies. the Ice has (insert number/scalings) hp. While encased in ice, the enemy champion is supressed and this ability is unable to be cleanes/qssed. The stun lasts until either the ice is broken, the ability is recast or until the duration is over
I mean the problem is less can you create an ability that’s new and more can you create an entire cohesive kit that’s new I can think of a lot of new “abilities” that could be added but it would either be a technical nightmare or not cohesive or balanced

She's probably going to be miserable both to play as and against in ARAM if I had to guess, between not having any health regen on her side and the enemies having to deal with that fear which is basically the width of the lane

I generally like the kit as it has a strong core mechanic with the rest of the kit designed to accomodate that but it seems a bit overloaded. I predict Q is going to lose either the armor pen or stun, E lose either the heal or damage reduction and ult CD will get increased.
We've seen a trend of riot designers, rather than removing things from champions, simply nerf them until it's at a balanced state. Look at akshan's kit. He has so much stuff in his passive alone, but aside from the double shot which is a big part of his identity/playstyle, other parts of it (the shield and 3 hit passive damage) are noehere near as strong as other champions who have similar abilities in isolation, think vayne passive/ekko passive, and for the shield think Camille, vi, etc.

@@lubue5795 that's true, but the design philosophy, I've found ,has shifted greatly since then. Aphelios for example has had nothing removed from his kit, just nerfs to the numbers. Less severum healing here, less infernum damage there, fewer chakrams from ult, etc. I already listed akshan as an example, but he fits this description too, as well as champions like Viego and K'sante. Well, I guess Zeri has had stuff removed, but she's a bit of an extreme example. She was literally getting adjusted every patch at some point until some stuff in her kit got rearranged and living battery removed.
@@lubue5795 Most of those are years old now. The last 6 champions have had nothing removed from them, only number changes. Even then, most of the recent 6 champs have received few changes besides early hotfixes and nerfs/buffs which is customary of anything new because they haven't been tested yet.

For Interactions based on enemy states, my guess is that it stops once you get the kill, as in your score increases, you get 300 gold and on the side of the screen it will be announced that you got a kill. So when you proc Anivia egg, GA or Zilean ult (on an enemy), she won't stop, but stuff like Sion passive (or also Kog'Maw or Karthus passive) will most likely be ignored since right at the start of these passives the one that killed them is already awarded a kill. As for what happens when Briar dies while she has GA during her ult? Might be the same but I think the effect might just stop from those (just depends on what happens to active effects when you are being revived I guess) OR I could just be completely wrong about all of this since it's riot we are talking about
every champ that coes out now will ave at least 2 - 3 spells that are already on another champ, i mean her q is a leap like many champs have one just normal movement , her ult is vex ult just another outcome if youre on your target

She'll be nice for newer players who tend to cancel autos, this pretty much stops is. But also... she will probably be completely troll in iron or bronze, as everyone will feed on her. Also i think any execute interactions, such as coup de grace, the collector, lethal tempo or PTA, dark harvest, etc, will be strong and make it easier to break out of her W earlier. Collector probably should be used sparingly, but i could see it work on squishy comps or when youre ahead.
Honestly the self taunt sounds really fun I was scared wont like this jungle because not really fan of warwick but just that mechanic has gotten me really interested

It'd be really cool if they added an element of skill expression to her R in the form of being able to use the stop command to get her to stand in place. It wouldn't cancel the R or self-taunt, but if for example a veigar cage goes up, she can stand still and not get CC'd while it's up before letting go and continuing her frenzy
She seems so strong but has obvious drawbacks and counterplays We've seen so many champions of her strength but without big drawbacks, so this is a nice change.
I love the champs that have skills that cost health, imo champs like that are very unique. Imagine having a blood warrior tank that has an ability to summon a pantheon or braum like shield at the cost of his health.
We need more champions by August, his take on champions are so out of left field; they breath new life into the game in that way. Albeit broken at times, champions by August are really notable League's Champion Roster.

I wish they committed to the theme of this champion. I know you say repeatedly her berserk can’t be cancelled, but her E directly cancels it and that’s clearly the purpose of the ability, including her ult.
I think it wouldve been too hard to balance. Its a simple statcheck champion, which means she will dominate low elo. Without a way to self cleanse, her berserk mechanic could be easily abusable by players that know what they re doing.

tbf, a self taunt is 100% unique mechanic to this champ, and will be a huge skill expression point for this champ it seems like
If it works out, could lead to others getting some variation of self taunt in the future. Briars is for going into a frenzy, while another champion could have some measure of area lock down. Like imagine a ult where you put down your zone of denial(think a kind of nullification area that protects allies from certain attacks outside the zone) and self taught against any enemies in the zone. Not what kind of character would fit that ability, but it probably should be interesting.
Briar R seems to be inspired by the Witch from the Left For Dead franchise, her unyielding chase plus bloodlust shriek left quite the similar impression on Briar.

You freeze an enemy champion up to 6 seconds, covering it in ice that can be attacken by enemies. the Ice has (insert number/scalings) hp.
While encased in ice, the enemy champion is supressed and this ability is unable to be cleanes/qssed.
The stun lasts until either the ice is broken, the ability is recast or until the duration is over
How about a champion ultimate that can destroy terain or a wall for 5 seconds then comes back?
I mean the problem is less can you create an ability that’s new and more can you create an entire cohesive kit that’s new
I can think of a lot of new “abilities” that could be added but it would either be a technical nightmare or not cohesive or balanced

Briar is the personification of why I quit playing ranked a while ago and why I enjoy playing ARAM more than ever before.
She's probably going to be miserable both to play as and against in ARAM if I had to guess, between not having any health regen on her side and the enemies having to deal with that fear which is basically the width of the lane

I generally like the kit as it has a strong core mechanic with the rest of the kit designed to accomodate that but it seems a bit overloaded.
I predict Q is going to lose either the armor pen or stun, E lose either the heal or damage reduction and ult CD will get increased.
I don't think anything is gonna be outright removed based on the last few champs.
We've seen a trend of riot designers, rather than removing things from champions, simply nerf them until it's at a balanced state. Look at akshan's kit. He has so much stuff in his passive alone, but aside from the double shot which is a big part of his identity/playstyle, other parts of it (the shield and 3 hit passive damage) are noehere near as strong as other champions who have similar abilities in isolation, think vayne passive/ekko passive, and for the shield think Camille, vi, etc.

@@lubue5795 that's true, but the design philosophy, I've found ,has shifted greatly since then. Aphelios for example has had nothing removed from his kit, just nerfs to the numbers. Less severum healing here, less infernum damage there, fewer chakrams from ult, etc. I already listed akshan as an example, but he fits this description too, as well as champions like Viego and K'sante. Well, I guess Zeri has had stuff removed, but she's a bit of an extreme example. She was literally getting adjusted every patch at some point until some stuff in her kit got rearranged and living battery removed.
@@lubue5795 Most of those are years old now. The last 6 champions have had nothing removed from them, only number changes. Even then, most of the recent 6 champs have received few changes besides early hotfixes and nerfs/buffs which is customary of anything new because they haven't been tested yet.

For Interactions based on enemy states, my guess is that it stops once you get the kill, as in your score increases, you get 300 gold and on the side of the screen it will be announced that you got a kill.
So when you proc Anivia egg, GA or Zilean ult (on an enemy), she won't stop, but stuff like Sion passive (or also Kog'Maw or Karthus passive) will most likely be ignored since right at the start of these passives the one that killed them is already awarded a kill.
As for what happens when Briar dies while she has GA during her ult? Might be the same but I think the effect might just stop from those (just depends on what happens to active effects when you are being revived I guess)
OR I could just be completely wrong about all of this since it's riot we are talking about

She'll be nice for newer players who tend to cancel autos, this pretty much stops is. But also... she will probably be completely troll in iron or bronze, as everyone will feed on her. Also i think any execute interactions, such as coup de grace, the collector, lethal tempo or PTA, dark harvest, etc, will be strong and make it easier to break out of her W earlier. Collector probably should be used sparingly, but i could see it work on squishy comps or when youre ahead.

CC doesnt stack in duration, but being taunted on by rammus will prob override her berserk

I wish they committed to the theme of this champion. I know you say repeatedly her berserk can’t be cancelled, but her E directly cancels it and that’s clearly the purpose of the ability, including her ult.
I think it wouldve been too hard to balance. Its a simple statcheck champion, which means she will dominate low elo. Without a way to self cleanse, her berserk mechanic could be easily abusable by players that know what they re doing.
@@BeaST-le1iz yeah, that’s the point. You gain a huge damage buff, and in exchange you lose the ability to position. Why else does the trade off exist? Currently, this is just the equivalent of right clicking on the enemy.
