The most interesting point is; It was rumored that Dimensity 9300 Due to the use of Cortex X4 cores, it will create a thermal bottleneck, but this did not happen here.
Both 9300 and 8 Gen 3 uses X4, difference being 9300 uses 4 X4 cores and 4 mid-cores whilst 8 Gen 3 only have a single X4 with 5 mid core and 2 e-core. Resulting in 8 Gen 3 pushing it's single X4 and mid-cores way harder than 9300 and thus worse efficiency. Very ironic because Qualcomm are the one that increases mid core count in their 8 Gen 2 and resulting in better efficiency, you would think Qualcomm would get sign that increasing bigger core count is the way for better efficiency, but no, instead Mediatek are the one doing that and taking the W in performance this Gen.

No need to look around for until mid to late 2024 because you will always find a better camera in phone A, better screen in B, better charging in C, etc. But as an allround package under USD 700, Iqoo 12 will satisfy you
Looks like Samsung will have to do some thermal throttling of temps to stop the SD8G3 from overheating. It looks like it is a hot phone at the moment, assuming it is fully optimised. I'm not sure that most consumers care much for performance anymore, as it is overkill for most of us. For instance, I do not play games on my phone, so the GPU is moot. Hoping AI is the next big thing, giving us extra rather than the race for more GPU and CPU.
We've hit the peak of performance for while now, as I still have the s20+ as a backup phone, now a 4-year-old phone. It's still very fast and plays most games at max settings. However, people do care about their device getting too hot and draining the battery. So fingers cross that this won't be a problem.
@@Marlon_J I suspect Samsung will prioritise thermals by limiting the max temperatures. Whereas Chinese firms tend to just max out, and then throttle hard.

Seems like apple dont want it to get hot and holds it back to stay cool, they should get some cooling in it. But stays cool now and reaults are pretty good, 1 and 2 place is great. 9300 chip seems to be amazing too but phone gets way to hot, cannot be good in the long run. The Graphic test on Antutu looks smooth on Mediatek and Apple than the Snapdragon… Bro you should give some time for cooldown. I think there is some optimization issues with Xiaomi and IQOO…

Their weights are different. The iPhone is smooth because the principle of his system is more scientific. Android‘s mechanism is loose and rough. And Antutu has a performance test of the disk in the test weight, and the iPhone lags behind here. The iPhone is far behind in terms of physical performance. You can search “socpk”for a comparison.
different apis dude. They are not comparable. And iphone being smooth doesnt mean its the best. Same is the case with geekbench. Geekbench is designed in such a way to favor apple devices.

Iqoo 12 has the biggest vapour chamber cooling system, so the surface tamper of the phone is much higher because the vapour chamber sends the internal temperature much effectively to the phone's surface. You are using an infrared thermometer so if there is a little bit of internal temperature, it is shown by the thermometer. Sending heat to the phone's surface is an effective way to cool down the phone so I think it's not an issue.

Now it can be said that this is a stereotype. This year, Mediatek is undoubtedly the champion.
Snapdragon still have advantage in yuzu switch emulation

😂😂 Lol, how is this possible, IQOO 12 scored 800,000 points in GPU in Antutu, but if we look at the video 2:03 we see how it lags, Antutu is a fake test. See how the iPhone smoothly renders the scene, but it only has 494 000 points.
Im not a apple fanboy but you have 100% agreed.😂 antutu its for snapdragons chip and fake power. 😂 i stay with my s23ultra minimum 5-6years
i am surprised to see Vivo and iPhone having butter smooth videos whilst others having _very significant_ stagger
Im surprised even more with vivo which performs almost the same as the iphone
@@vMattv actually VIVO take a 💩 on iPhone. 🤡

Thanks for the video Nick. I really appreciate the hard work friend wishing you nothing but the best for 2024. Those MediaTek chips are very impressive
As an ex user of S23 Ultra around first until mid 2023, and then switching to a few phones, and now as a user of Iqoo 12, I could safely say that if you only had maximum 672 USD to burn, just buy Iqoo 12 and live happily. No need to look around for until mid to late 2024 because you will always find a better camera in phone A, better screen in B, better charging in C, etc. But as an allround package under USD 700, Iqoo 12 will satisfy you
Thats why Samsung is the King of Android…
Good scores (even with the last year SoC) with very good thermal management and battery efficiency… 💯
Bought the 13t pro. Feels premium and doesn't break the bank
Took flagships from bbk, samsung, apple and compared it to a sub-flagship xiaomi, genius....
Here are my Xiaomi 14 results for comparison: Wild Life Extreme: 5126 - Framerate: 30.70 - Geekbench 6: Single Score 2114 Multi 6753 - Antutu 2021105
Very happy because I'll be buying the X100 Pro in th next couple months
Vivo is stunning
Wtf 66 degrees bruh that thing can boil water if left for too long
Looks like Samsung will have to do some thermal throttling of temps to stop the SD8G3 from overheating.
Because 12watts 8gen3 vs 8watts 8gen2. Snapdragon crazy bad. Soo much oc and trottling. Its like 8gen1 founders samsung😂
I'll wait to see how the SD variants of the S24 devices perform in throttling
🖕🏻 Samsung 8 gen 3
Other 8 gen 3 phones will destroy overrated Samsung w/3x less the price
Big suprise the vivo... But a year S23 ultra still the most stable device.
Lets see about vivo if soon comes X100 pro plus
S22 plus 8gen1 is great handles everything samsung one ui 6 also improved battery and thermals s22 plus and ultra were only phones with passive cooling that kept 8gen1 somewhat under control still rocking my s22 plus same s23 and s24

Commenting on my 13T Pro with 9200+ chipset.
This right here makes you the best phone reviewer.
Dimensity 9300 is the current chip King of market
30% slower in singlecore than the iphone tho, and uses alot more battery,.
The IQOO 12 pro seems to lag more than the.
Samsung S23 Ultra😕
I think more optimization on the iqoo because is just struggling for no reason, its using the Sd8 Gen 3, how why maybe ots just optimization. Let me just end it there😐
True.... iQOO 12 is not optimization and but only Samsung Galaxy S24 ultra still best optimization. We're waiting.
Having an IQOO 12 Pro Chinese version with OriginOS It's probably a lack of funtouchOS optimization. With OriginOS it has given me higher results than Dimensity 9300 except for AnTuTu...
Can't wait for the speed test! I'd love it if u could use the same brand for the most part tho. Too keep ut as fair as possible. Like Xiaomi 14 pro vs 13 pro vs 13T pro vs Vivo X100 pro vs Poco X6 pro.
Then maybe, the fastest among can compete against Apple and Google and Samsung.
there is something wrong with your iqoo 12. you should have known when the idle temperature was above 40c.
now i am really keen on seeing how Galaxy S24 Ultra will perform in this test
S23 Ultra isn't fair in this comparison as it's using an old chip and isn't the same generation as the others. The S24 ultra when it releases would've been a fair comparison. Still though it did incredibly well and their cooling still manages to surprise me with every test.
But still s23 u performance is not bad
Seems like apple dont want it to get hot and holds it back to stay cool, they should get some cooling in it. But stays cool now and reaults are pretty good, 1 and 2 place is great. 9300 chip seems to be amazing too but phone gets way to hot, cannot be good in the long run. Will be fun to see how s24u and iphone 16 pm preform this year. Great test😊
i am a samsung guy and i have s22 ultra, but i would have to pick the vivo with dimensity 9300 bro, that phone is crazy good, mostly for portraits, but wait for s26 ultra, that will be the most advanced phone :D
I think your IQOO 12 have problem i have watch every review on the internet and this is the first time watch this devices not perform well.
So which one is best performance wise? I can't really understand it.
Phones nowadays shouldn't even be competing because they are so similar in all departments. when it comes to photos and videos all that is subjective. i think most phones reached their plateau and they just have small improvements and features. with this being said, i think any choice you make with the top tier phone you should be more than ok.
The Graphic test on Antutu looks smooth on Mediatek and Apple than the Snapdragon…
Bro you should give some time for cooldown. I think there is some optimization issues with Xiaomi and IQOO…
Realistically people will not wait for a cooldown when using their phone. If a phone cant handle a simple load like that than that means the phone is bad
@@SweatyFeetGirl Simple Load? Lmao, No One In The World Would Play Games At 4K Resolution All The Time, These Tests Are All Done In 4K With Raytracing.
Right now the iqoo focus only on earning money. Because that brand has become famous in the market, that is why
my point is, the majority of good brand phones can handle this exact load without cooling down but iqoo cant, its clearly iqoos fault@@mrsketchysketch680
@@SweatyFeetGirlrealistically you wouldn't run benchmarks like that.
S23U is a year older than the others yet still managed to come 3rd!

Iqoo 12 has some serious throttling and heating issues... So much so that the CPU is working at 50% of its power...
I told. I told. 8gen3 its joke.😂 like a 888 and 8gen1 founders samsung 😂. So much oc 8gen3 on 4nm. Should be 2nm. Sorry i stay with the best monster s23 ultra ❤ 😮. Crazy how bad its 8gen3. 😂 the battery drop soo crazy...

IQOO 12 performed pathetically here. Like seriously 756 and 2862 in Geekbench 6? My Poco F4 with the OG SD 870 scores 1280 and 3308 in GB6.
Yeah thats crazy
😍😍😍😍
Something wrong with this particular phone he had...
I have a s23 ultra and it's amazing, I don't think this year is worth changing.
But if next year comes out with replaceable battery... I will no doubt buy it. (Even if I have to travel to europe to get it)
D9300 is amazing indeed, probably 8Gen3 as well but thanks to IQOO it got buried to the ground 😂
Hii Nick.... Thank you for amazing videos as always...Vivo X 100 pro or Vivo X 90 pro plus ???
Your choice in terms of overall experience ??
Why use non popular phones?
I would rather use Iphone 15
Samsung Galaxy
Asus Rog Phone
RedMagic Pro
From every company the strongest phone and the latest the middle phone here i never heard and huawei is not avaible in europe anymore
Dimension9300 is really giving the iPhone competition huh
I have been seeing all of your videos for years and I don't understand why how in benchmark testing temperatures are so high ? 60°c ? 50°c for iPhone ?
Typically iPhones throttles at (42-45 )°c, are those unrestricted in china ?
what magic did samsung do with sd gen 2 for galaxy!!?? is the gen 3 in the s24 also "for galaxy"?
I have the 13t pro and it's an absolute beast.
For me personally Xiaomi 13T Pro is the best phone in the video, I am all rounder phone fans, as long camera is good, gaming good and baterry good I'm okay with it. Furthermore Xiaomi 13T pro offer a very affordable price.
Can you please also include the Realme GT5 Pro in the next battery drain test?
the antutu benchemark cannot be taken seriously, the iphone was the smoothest but got lower scores? even google ban them from playstore.
So cell phones have reached a level where the power of the processor no longer matters, but rather the amount of heat they dissipate. The cell phone that dissipates heat best is the best cell phone in the world. We'll see what it will be during the year.
Redmagic Pro 9 with the fan would be the most consistently powerful android out there.
The fact that the iqoo's multi score when it was not hot was lower than the vivo's when it was hot is insane like the d9300 is straight up bullying these processors but let's let apple cook alr let's see how the a18 will do this year
In China (their hometown), everyone knows that iqoo is part of vivo.
@@QAZ654 yeah i know iqoo is a high performance brand by vivo but vivo just bullied the iqoo 😂.what I was trying to say is that the the d9300's 4 prime x4 cores and 4 more other big cores is better that the 8 Gen 3's 1,4,3 architecture:)
The only thing that the d9300 will be bullying is it's long term battery life. It's thermals will be disastrous long term.
@@neilmcguinness4422 nah since there are all big cores the cpu can split the work equally among all cores and run at a low clock speed to reduce thermals and battery consumption. Also if the Rog phone this comes with a dimensity 9300 u have no idea what kind of performance will be unlocked since Rog has been the leading gaming phone it's no doubt that asus can manage a cooling solution for the device and x-mode runs on power only with the aeroactive cooler so don't worry abt battery cuz it can do bypass charging :)
You're wrong @@neilmcguinness4422
I have the Iqoo 12 and even at the highest graphics of star rail and cod i didnt face any heating or framedrop with it. The phone gets a little warm but it starts to cool down. Maybe there is something wrong with your device idk?
Vivo is the best

vivo looks silky smooth on antutu :o
Look at the 2:02 antutu test there is jitteriness on Samsung and iqoo and other 3 phone is smooth but Vivo x 100 is battery smooth 😮😮 mediatek dimensity 9300 is insane 🔥🔥🔥
Can't wait for the battery drain test
What year is the iPhone 15 from? The front looks trash 😢 I assume 2016?
The Iqoo at 41 degrees while at idle. Surely something wrong with that one and invalidates the test.
iqoo 12 has heating and throttling issues. It's equivalent Vivo 100 pro is better.
I just bought iqoo12 and I saw the review it has the best cooling system, but I hvnt play any graphic intensive games on it so I hvnt experience the throttle like in this video
please share if your phone ideal temp. ever reaches near 41~42 degree as mentioned in this video??@@mattdiu93
