I am the sucker who has bought and downloaded so many presets to help me find my style. Your process really helped with understanding that there must be that foundation of the editing process first. Usually my first go to is the do the white balance, then correcting the colors...usually oranges, even after I have used the "premium presets". You helped me so much with just this short clip. Can't wait to apply your teachings to my next set of photos. Thanks Sensei!
Very interesting approach. The point you make at 13:13 about not being able to save a preset to only affect one of the sliders in the HSL/Color tab, I think I have a workaround. Say you want to have a preset that simply desaturates greens to -45, go to a fully reset image and set the green saturation to -45, then create a new preset from that, checking only the 'color adjustments' box. Then right click that profile and click 'show in explorer' for windows (I presume show in finder for mac). There you will have your preset as an XML file, which can be opened in any text editor. You will see lines that say something like crsSaturationAdjustmentRed="0". All of them will be '=0' except for your -45 to greens, which will say crs:SaturationAdjustmentGreen="-45". Simple delete all the lines that have something ="0" and save the XML file and close it. Now you can test it in Lightroom, for example boost your yellows to 100 saturation and then apply your green desaturation preset. If you did it correctly, your yellow saturation boost will remain while your greens get desaturated by 45.
KAYELYN THIS IS INCREDIBLE AND I NEED IT IN MY LIFE. I have never said that about any "preset" or anything I see online! But I am absolutely SOLD. Next session is covering this investment.
Thank you so much, i would love to see you use the bonus adjustment brushes that were provided as well and how to use those. Love these presents, thank you!
Thank you for sharing! Just a quick question to clarify, in step one, that will take care of "opening up the image"? So basically if I take my raw image, I wouldn't need to manually create that "backwards C"?
I have these and LOVE THEM, I do have a question though, once you find a tone profile you like for an image do you keep to that tone profile for the entire gallery or do you personally use different tone profiles depending on the image in the same gallery?
you mentioned that you have your exposure slider set up with the + and - keys ... PLEASE let me know how to change that!! if anyone knows it would be a HUGE help!
Just the intro of your preset pack has me sold I’ve done photography and film for over 10 (more filming) years and just recently decided to start doing it for myself and I’m just getting back into editing and building my own style Often I have found myself shooting from the hip with my editing and developing or buying presets Thanks 🙏
Sorry for the delay! The consistency course goes much more in depth in my process. It is over 20 hours of content. katelynjames.com/consistency-course-2-0
Hi katelyn absolutely love you content and your style. 2 questions I want to ask..but before I do I have to say that this concept is a brilliant idea so we'll done for that..👏 1st question is do these work on adobe camera raw. 2nd how do these work for panasonic lumix. Thank you 😊
Hi Katelyn! I have a question about the tone profiles. Do you find that you do switch between the golden warm and peachy warm in one session (or even one location?) ever, and when you do, does it feel consistent enough to you? I like to switch between them but really worry that the overall change would be visible within the same session because there is a different feel to them. Do you find yourself doing this, and think it works ok? Thank you!!
I am so glad that I saw this because I missed the email for the updated BLENDS. Thank you so much for this great video. Will you be releasing any KJ B&W presets in the future?
I love the presets and I love you! You are amazing!!! I thought I was losing my mind though, because I could faintly hear a baby crying, then I thought I could hear your little girl, lol. It sounded like Michael was outnumbered, :()
i'm confused. why are presets needed for what light room already does without them? like why do we need a brights booster if we can just do that in the develop panel? Forgive me if I have misunderstood

Let us know if you have any questions!
Do you shoot all of your images to almost perfect exposure so these presets work or do you shoot underexposed a little?
Non-preset related, but your course and videos are all amazing. I can't wait to apply everything I learned year.
Thank you so much!!! I'm glad to hear they've been helpful for you!!

Normally yes but if the light changes significantly or the outfit change changes the colors a whole lot it may switch to peachy!

Great vid, like the preset approach! What about culling?
Coming soon!

Will the KJ presets work for Fujifilm as well?
It only works on raw photos. are you asking about a film scan?
Would this preset work with LR5?
Do you have a coupon I can use to buy the presets?
Shoot us an email to Katelyn@katelynjames.com
Thank you for this breakdown!!!
You are so welcome!
When this is purchased, do you show how to download this into Lightroom?
Yes there is an instructional video!
Does anyone have any advice on how to learn how to use LR & Photoshop? I am just starting out and I am LOST! Seems so complicated!
Check out SLR Lounge- they have a workshop that is very in depth on Lightroom and the instructor is very entertaining in all of his workshops.

1st question is do these work on adobe camera raw.
2nd how do these work for panasonic lumix.
Thank you 😊
We didn't test them in ACR, but we have students who say it does work. We have not tested them with Panasonic lumix.
@@KatelynJames thank you for your reply. I'm still tempted to buy anyway.🙂
