Where were these things when I grew up? I built boats out of Legos, but I had to design them to both float and hold water, out of just the blocks haha.
I would do this, but I'd always include some complicated way that water could get in from. Be it a small hole in the side or a breakable hatch. I was always interested in just watching the water find its way everywhere from a singular point. Still am.
They had floating boats at least since the late 80s.
i could never achieve 100% waterproofing with vanilla lego. the best way i came up with to mitigate it was a constantly running centrifugal pump that would "throw" the water inside above the waterline, and would pump proportionally to the amount of water that came onboard.... but in terms of sealing i could never get it right

@@ME0WMERE There's literally warnings on LEGO boxes. I've owned several lego system sets with boats, and some of them had "The LEGO boat doesn't floats" written in the bottom right corner, or something like that. Of course, if boat actually floats, they don't write that - it usually comes on sets with boats that are made of bricks, not that one boat-like single big piece.
Yes, i've just checked. Some of small LEGO City sets have this small "Boat does not float" warning on them. Look up set 60114 for example

In terms of why the top speed is the same. 1) friction from low viscosity fluids is small, especially in still water. 2) the boat at the front is creating a current for boats behind, giving them a smaller velocity gradient so lower friction. However, acceleration should be worse for more boats as mass has increased :)

That's extremely interesting I wonder it you could do a train train video explaining phenomena like stringing (and the derailment it caused), stuff like having to put cars from heaviest to lightest (lead to trail), I know you kinda did it in your very long vehicle with a lot of trailers, but it would still be interesting nonetheless :)

Also: This is another example of your projects which I sincerely, SINCERELY believe you should consider obtaining thermoplastic for in the future. At the very least, covering the seams/ports of your power cells and/or making a airtight housing for your sensitive components would remove all manner of scenarios that would otherwise result in "well, that's one less [electrical component] that I have." You can easily remove the stuff afterward without residue or modifying the original parts, and it will weatherproof/re-enforce literally any build you want to make.

As a sailing instructor, I have towed lines of about 9 dinghies, and it's flipping *horrible* because if you stop, you have to wait about a week for the boat at the end to smack into the one in front, and then they chain and give your engine a terrifying crack
