    Mike,
Hands down to you! I keep on telling myself that I will do something similar but even taking a week to do anything like this intimidates me. Today I have resolved that I will do it! Thank you so much for documenting your trip. Best Regards, Romero.

Terrific adventure! I rode my skinny tire bike for 5 months across northern US and Canada but your trip makes mine look like baby steps! My trip was in 1980 at age 23 and I wish I could do it again. Thanks for making this terrific video and sharing it. You have inspired me to order a fat bike and start getting back in shape at age 60. Thanks again and safe travels!

Yeah Mike! Always full of energy. I loved the pizza bit, that is the beauty of meeting people on the road. I'm thinking about copying your style on my next trip with a JBL speaker and a big solar panel. Have fun down south
OH - if you get a chance, you must try Felt's new e-fat bikes, the Outfitter and the LEbowski. They have a hybrid drive so you have to pedal, but almost triple your output (up to 30mph) with an electric boost. It is a crazy feeling... like a human powered fat bike moped

Hop 333 thank you very much for your response it was a powerful decision I made in 2012 about 9 years ago. My mom and dad were alive at the time and they got a chance to see different areas visually through RUclips. Now they are both dead so the experience taught me that human beings are very similar in nature 99% of them are willing to be very generous I learned a lot about my fellow human being and it was something that literally changed my life forever. I grew up in Whitefish Montana third generation now I'm living in Jackson Wyoming and it really helped form a lot of business and life decisions for me to do this trip it was fantastic at every single level I think about it literally almost every day

Mike, that video really hit a bone! I haven't ridden for 10 years and I have a Fatbike being built for me right now. I spent 2 months riding down the West coast years ago and also toured the Canadian maritimes as well. My tires were in some of the same places as yours. I feel like I have a brother on RUclips! mike potter Thanks for the reply. I happened upon Mountain bike history when I was 16 years old, touring the west coast on a skinny tire bike. We were camping in the redwoods, and some crazy looking dude on a mountain bike came to visit, we had never seen a mountain bike, so we were amazed, he let all of us ride it. That was Charlie Cunningham and he told us if we were interested in the style of bike, we should go visit his friend Tom Ritchie to find out what it was all about. That was back in 1983!

Eight years ago I left from San Francisco and biked north on the coast route to Canada, then east across Canada 100-200 north of the U.S. border. I made the made the Atlantic coast at Prince Edward Island, then continued south in the fall down the east coast route to Georgia. I then turned west again for a ride thru the south during the winter, then back up to S.F. where I started. I did it on a mountain and mostly on road. Next summer I'll fatbike across the U.S. on the TAT off road. Bicycle touring is a great way to see a country. No more road touring for me though - too dangerous these days.

Awesome video Mike, very inspiring. I just got my Fat bike two weeks ago. I had Seven cycles make it, with a Rholoff and a belt drive. They say the Rholoff's take 1,000 miles to break in, and with the belt it is maintenance free. Just getting used to the big tires. Keep up the good work on the films.

My personal experience is this way: I prefer handles bent back so that I myself don't bend forward. in addition I surely get narrower tires in long distance they are easier and need less energy. the other point is suspension in front or rear if not your shoulders and back must carry the pressure from road bumps.

It's things like this that have me sold on saving up for a fatbike as my next ride. I live in the midwest, and we have miles upon miles of gravel roads, county blacktops, and lots of off the beaten path things to check out and see. You could take a touring bike out there, but you can't take a touring bike everywhere, lol. Plus I like the idea of being able to hop on and ride on snow/ice/mud that I normally have to avoid with my current ride. Great video, you really do meet a lot of interesting people when touring on a bike, especially if you get off the beaten track!

I didn't want this video to end, because it was so enjoyable to watch. Magnificent! Fantástico!
My question is, was the trip physically and mentally tough. You provably gained lots of endurance and enduring friends. Why did you do it?

It was difficult to leave family and friends. It was challenging to camp outside 404 days out of the 1 year and 10 month Odyssey....it went by fast and changed my life forever...bonded me with my family when I got back and taught me discipline in my day to day life....each day I had to have everything in order and also just had the best times in my life....I got in good cardio shape however didn't loose much weight....just maintained........it was amazing thank you for your kind words this morning...mike potter www.relaxedchaos.com and also mikecpotter.com

Wow . . sooo many questions . . did you always use knobbies? What pressures did u run? What type of clip on pedals . . shoes? Did you take enough water? Will the NEXT bike have suspension? Did you lose weight? You are not supposed to travel on a Fat bike . . and you did . . awesome. Promise to watch the video all the way thru. Hope you are doing well.

    inspiring, love the video.
I did a 24k tour from Nederlands to Indonesia, on a regular mountainbike. Thinking now of doing the Americas. Would you recommend the fat bike, or would you do some changes? I was thinking a Carbon fully this time, just because they are so cool, and comfy.

All I can think of is, how many flats did you get? And I love the Pacific Northwest. The air and climate in San Francisco is so invigorating, and I absolutely love the Redwood forest.

2012 thru 2014 will be memories I will never ever forget and changed everything for me...669 days on the road, 72 sets of families, 56 hotels and hostels and 404 days camping in 26 different states...The Fat Bike did it for me and also created more options for off road type things........I LOVED IT SO MUCH...and inspired me to be an oil artist....www.mikecpotter.com
