He was a young guy who went from barely traveling to being on the road all the time. I guess it makes sense wanting to leave when you're not used to it.
Read his book talks about not having a life
His first time through he just wasn’t doing well physically and functioning in the environment as it existed. The money was good obviously but during the period of time when he worked the normal full time schedule of the day it was just wasn’t a good fit for him. If I remember correctly he was dealing with various injuries from the road and was self medicating through it with pain pills and large quantities of vodka. And at that point in time in the roughly two years he’d spent in the WWE on the main roster he’d been the champion or involved in the feuds for the championship for pretty much the entire time and the schedule that came with that role was immense - had to be on every international tour and so on thus always on the road.
If you’re a private person who likes to be in nature and check out for periods of time constantly being on the road and having people want things from you would be a bad fit. And lucky for him eventually he got to come back and get the extremely favorable schedule that he wanted but was denied when he had talks to return in 2007 or so. And the accommodations he eventually got later on is about as good of a deal one could ever hope to have gotten and he’s gotten to spend like ten plus years back making truck loads of cash the entire time. In the end it all worked out pretty well for him in the end even though for various points in time it looked iffy. Whether one likes him or not can’t help but have some level of respect for all he’s been able to do.
There are so many layers to Brock that im fascinated with. Id like to see his full story told.
he released a bio book back in 2010
His biography was decent, not many in WWE come off very well, JR included
They gotta make a Lesnar movie. The man has legit lived one of the craziest lives ever.
@@gimu9834 he's rather Unpredictable
Layers is that the dude is a creep. You'll never see his face in a WWE ring ever.
Brock Lesnar sure did get a really big push when he first came to WWE. Within a few months of him debuting, he was already a top star in the company. I definitely think that’s what lead to him to getting burned out. With great power comes great responsibility.
I agree that brock was pushed way to fast and traveling 300 days a year did burn him out.
He had the perfect balance of a wrestler that Vince like, he got the look, the muscle, the attitude, and the character of a perfect heel. The only downside is that Brock doesn't like to stick around, he wants to come and go like the wind which is why he bought his own private jet so he could travel his way.
i wasn't prepared for what i saw with him and rvd at king of the ring. I said "this man!" Had me marked out post kayfabe
This burned me out of him and has kept me not a fan of Brocks, such a boring person, just bigger and better than everyone. After his angle with Angle, lost total interest, and he's never been as good as he was in that run.
@@VOAN that not the only downside. He has no personality
Weather you like Brock or hate him, he deserves respect for still being around 20yrs after his debut.
I'm not in love with how they use him but I sure don't blame the man for taking advantage of the deal available to him.
whether*
Anyone can be around 20 years if they go missing for 8, then come back and wrestle 4 or 5 matches a year, with some being the shortest matches on the card all whilst being the highest paid person on the roster.
@@thefan974so why aren’t you?
@thefan974 I bet he has more options than just wrestling. He seems to enjoy it.
I remember starting to watch WWE after Brock left, but I played Smackdown Here Comes The Pain on Ps2 before I even started watching it so I never got the chance to see Brock wrestle other than in highlight videos/montages etc. What a beast.
another reason wrestlers mislead someone is to take their spot and less competition.
The reason wrestlers couldn’t back up their complaints about pay was that there was no transparency! WWE can’t have it both ways-they want to pay whatever they want and just tell the boys it was fair.
I agree on this. It's always fairly disingenuous when they say "what are you basing your complaint on" when they use a mystery box to pay them from.
How is it WWE’s fault that he signed a contract without knowing how much he was going to be paid?
Jealousy runs rampant back then. No wonder some of the guys we think deserves to be pushed are not pushed.
When you actually think about it, This was more like a HHH not winning the KOTR and it gave birth to Austin 3:16. Lesser left and the ball went to Cena and Batista, later Cena overall.
The difference is ratings and fan interest went to all time highs with Austin. Ratings and fan interest reached all time lows with Cena and Batista
Now he is highest paid pro wrestler the last 10 years.
Well the landscape is what it is what do you expect
WWE didn't let guys be part timers back then. He might not have left if he could work a schedule like he does nowadays.
They allowed Shawn Michaels a schedule where he only worked TV and PPV’s and even then he’d get a couple of months off here and there as he did in mid 2004
@@My19812011 yea unfortunately Shawn was always favored by Vince
Hell Shawn got management to get hurricane to stop using the chokeslam
The thing is Brock Lesnar came at a time when WWE is bringing new stars to the company as well as those that came from WCW. Lesnar got push right into the main event level which is why Vince didn't want him to be a part timer. Not only that Lesnar wasn't confident that he would want to stick to pro wrestling all the way which is why he left to play for the NFL.
Lesnar was like 25 lol there's no reason he couldn't work a full schedule if he wanted to. He just simply didn't want to and left the company high and dry after they spent 2 years putting him over all their other top talent
@@My19812011 Shawn still did house shows too
Listen to how JR explains both sides & takes ownership of where he could have done better like an adult. As opposed to that immature, petulant, hypocritical little child running WWE.
Thought you were gonna say Russo lol
Love Conrad and Jr voice
Fortunately for JR, Nailz wasn’t one of the boys calling him about his payoff.
Nailz would have done it in person.
I think it’s wrong for JR to say Brock was getting bad advice. In the end, he was able to make big money on less touring in Japan and then his MMA career before negotiating a fat contract on very limited dates when he returned in 2012.
I think he was getting bad advice for the time. Obviously in hindsight it worked out very well for him. But at that time he was making millions in WWE and he decided to leave it to try a sport he hadn't been playing. At that time he didn't know that Japan would work out or that MMA would happen. So in the view of that time you could call it bad advice.
Did you see some of those RA era jabronis he was traveling with? I’m not surprised at all the were giving him shit advice
Best decision brock ever made
Not gonna lie I enjoyed the Brock Kurt Benoit Eddie era after that wrestling died
The way Brock got a title shot in the UFC so quickly with a 3-1 career record or something like that I thought was bizarre. Some people believe Randy couture helped Brock out alot. Hennig was such a dick 😂 😆.
Considering mr perfect died over a year before wm 20 id doubt he was the one to make lesnar jump ship
It was Sable given her history.
He can't ask for more money but Shawn Micheals HHH can pick n choose when they want to have n drop they're titles
He can certainly ask for more, as he did. But why give more to a guy you already paid $250K to for one night of work and who has already left you after one year of a new multi year contract. No reason to bend to make someone happy who no longer works for you.
@@Matt-cr4vv money bro how brought them money
Brock in 03 was non stop and he got tired of traveling alot because in 03 he had to have done over 200 shows tv, live events, ppvs. Now he gets to dictate his own contract and work limited dates as he deserves
The story about goldust is definitely Scott Hall
How you know
Love the videos but holy Ads Batman!

This is where Vince wants all or nothing. Brock can't be a regular member on the roster, he just doesn't fit in with the rest of the talent. I don't understand why they can't bring him on few matches a year and allow him to pursue his own interests in between. If they need someone to carry the belt for a time, he's always there.
Curt Hennig passed away by the time Lesnar was pissed about the payoff
Where did he say Hennig? He could’ve been Talking about Kurt Angle, as a matter of Fact I believe that’s who he was talking about.
Can someone clear something up for me JR said Lesner was dating razors daughter who is cassidy Lee but she was born in 1995, so in 2005 she would have only been 10 because lesner got with sable in 2006, Iam confused. P. S BTW iam not insinuating anything here I think JR may have his mind muddled up
Lesnar got with Sable in 2003... he had left the company by 2006 lol
It looks like the other guys wanted to be in the top but Brock was in the way! Tony Atlas alway said that’s the way it is in this business.

Cool
I had watched WWE from the summer of 2002 to 2008ish. The best years I can say without a doubt were 02 and 03 not just cause of the roster but the cutthroat wrestling especially from Brock Lesnar. It was like watching gladiators go at it every week and it was a special time is wrestling history for certain. You could tell Brock Lesnar was getting burned out because of his body...you look at how he looked in 02 compared to 04. He did more to make an impression and gave it 100 percent in the ring which everyone at that time was but when he left it all went to shiz. Undertaker turned into a cartoon again, booker t had a stupid gimmick " king booka " but Eddie Guerrero, Benoit, Batista and a few others kept it going. I even miss Smckdown and Raws old themes from 02
Lesnar is the only guy who can get booed out of 2 Wrestlemanias and have people mark for him. I get that he has good genetics, is juiced up, and has adaquate mma skills, but as a pro wrestler I just dont get it.

@@supermegaguy666 Nice. I do love free money. I don't think I have ever seen anyone comment on Hall or Waltman shit talking the money that others were getting paid.
If anything, they were checking to see if they got the payoff their opponents got just to make sure they didn't get stiffed by Vince. One example is Vince, stiffing Tully and Arn, and didn't start paying Arn, what he claimed he would get paid until Arn, put in his notice. They fucked Tully before this by drug testing him and he got caught with the nose candy when he put in his notice.

that's what wwe gets for trying to get a franchise guy like Austin to lose in a squash match to Lesnar. Guys like Austin are hard to come by.
Austin was burned out by then
I would trade Eddie Guerrero for Brock Lesnar any day in the history of professional wrestling. There's a reason people were drawn to Eddie. It's because he genuinely gave shit about wrestling. Lesnar clearly didn't and still doesn't. He wants the cash and that's all that he wants.
Mark
SuperMark
And what the hell is wrong with that. It's about getting paid and he did the right thing. Look what happened to poor Eddie.
Here is a big question. Where would brock Lesnar be if he never joined wwe even though NJPW or WCW was wanted him. It does seem like he whined about everything.
As far as I know wcw wanted him, eric made such a statement but lesnar could start his mma career back then
I mean, with the WCW deal, he would have ended up in WWE around the same timeframe either way. And I don't know if the offer from NJPW was all that serious, but he ended up screwing them in the end when he did end up going there, so who knows what the end result would have been for him. Maybe he would have ended up putting more effort into football, maybe he would have ended up in the olympics for amateur wrestling, maybe he would have got into MMA sooner.
Their matches were very poor and not worth the ppv.
He did not do well in .the lineman were pushing him back
