Fermi Paradox answer #5,487: What if we're some of the first intelligent life to evolve? What if there is a bunch of life out there, but the reason we don't see anyone is because we're some of the first "intelligent" life in the universe. Not the first, just near the beginning, and all other possible life out there isn't that far away from our technological levels. Life as we know it has to have had a beginning, what's to say we're not there? I mean it took us this long to come about. What if it's the same across the galaxy, or universe for that matter.
Every time people talk about the uncanny Valley, they miss the most obvious explanation. For the vast majority of our existence as a species, we lived aside other hominids. We competed with them for resources. It is possible that some of our genetic mixing with them was consensual, it is equally possible that it was not. So we learned not to trust people that looked a lot like us, but not exactly like us. It’s not some weird alien thing. It’s leftover monkey stuff.

I have a similar story to story 8. I was making 2 min noodles in my kitchen once and dropped my fork on the ground, I saw it in my peripheral vision and heard it bounce and it didn't sound like it went far. However when I turned around I couldn't find my fork anywhere. The kitchen was quite large and everything was connected to the ground so there was no possibility it could have "went underneath" something because there was nothing for it to go underneath, I checked surrounding rooms to no avail. I don't know how or what happened that day but it's the closest "glitch" in the matrix scenario Ive had happen to me and it's crazy others have similar stories

Once I was going to my local grocery store and the reflection of the windows on the store there was a white suv parked and another car drove by and as i saw that on the window the white suv was gone entirely like it vanished. I looked around to find it and not a single white car was in sight. Thought I was tripping bad

So there is no lip under the cabinets? I could see that happening.... But also I have had similar things happen!
But seriously though, #8, i have a 9 year old cane corso named kraken. He has a huge crate that we leave open 24/7 and he loves sleeping in it at night. I got up one morning and went to his crate to give him some morning pets and let him out to use the bathroom. Its in the spare room, with literally nothing in there but the crate, a food bowl, and a water bowl. I went and looked, he wasnt in his crate. Checked the rest of the house, nothing. Woke my girl up and asked if she let him outside and maybe forgot and fell asleep. Nope. Front and back doors shut and locked. I said "well kraken is gone, like, not in there.."
She got up and looked in the room and the crate, wasnt there. We were looking around the house hollering for him, when all of a sudden we hear nails tapping on the hardwood, we turn around and look down the hallway and there he comes, out of his crate room perfectly fine. We were happy to see him but we both got strong chills up our spine and had literal goosebumps on our arms. Because he was NOT there. He dissappeared and then reappeared. We have no other way to explain it away.. I get chills and feel weird just thinking about it now.

#8 is fairly common it seens. This happens all the time, pretty much daily, with my dirty laundry and dishes. I just leave them on the floor and the table, and overnight they literally dissapear and reappear in their proper locations, *FOLDED* . I can't figure this shit out for the life of me, but its messing with the vibes, since my girlfriend is always super pissed and tired now, she's going crazy talking some nonsense about "never helping" and talking of moving back in with her mother 🤔
Your entire floor does that? I've only ever heard of a table or counter that can do that. You're a lucky one!
Dude block the attacks, thats how you take enemies down without backing up across the entire map. You have the directional block sensor on, use it.

Lmao I love that there was someone actually watching the game and getting angry
This is a sort of weird story for me. Happened not too long ago. This can be cropped up to tiredness, not eating much, or just some random fabrication my mind had created.
So i work the night shift, 10:30 to 7 o'clock. I just clocked out and drove down the road to the store to pick up some eggs and some more socks, since my dog decided to tear up the rest of mine. So I'm getting my stuff, bumped into an old highschool teacher, talked a bit, paid my stuff, spent $7.45. As I sit back in my truck, turn the key, I look back up and just see myself back in the parking spot of where I work. I checked my bank account to see if I spent any money, there was no -$7.45 showing, no matter how many times I refreshed and punched my password in. I look in my passenger seat and see no eggs or socks, just an empty seat with my name tag in it. So. I went back to the store, got the eggs, got the socks, seen my old Highschool Teacher, he was infront of me in the line and he turned to me and said, "Heading home?" And I just smiled back and nodded as the line moved up and paid my stuff, then checking and seeing -$7.45 on my account. Made it home and just slept.

Story 11:
If you want a more extreme example: the universe is approximately 13.7 bn years old. Our sun has been around for 4.5 bn years, and has another 5 bn to go (avg. lifespan 9-10 bn years). Earth is of a similar age, and life on Earth goes back 3.7 bn years. An intelligent species could've risen halfway through the universe's current history, about 6.8 bn years ago, lasted say, three billion years, and died out before microbes first appeared on Earth.
Like how we develop weapons they did and just brought doom right ?
@@LithiumBattery0That's one possibility, yes.
To me, an extremely advanced civilization simply just dying out makes absolutely no sense. We probably couldn't even imagine what they could do with their technology. We think space travel is advanced but to an advanced civilization that's existed for billions of years and can traverse dimensions, it's child's play.
@@Lifted001
tl;dr: We're talking about a time span that's hard for us to fully comprehend; therefore, any number of things we can imagine (and ones we *can't* imagine) could've caused such an "extinction."
Given everything that can happen within just one billion years, I wouldn't say it makes "no sense." War *is* admittedly the quickest and most likely way for an advanced civilization to destroy itself.
However, the idea of a virulent plague wiping them out *can* make sense; if they've got like nanite-enhanced immune systems it might not, but if they've stopped inoculating themselves because they eradicated literally every form of disease known to their people a million years ago, their immune systems would be entirely untested, and they'd be easy prey for a plague.
Alternatively, maybe they "won" at life and transcended the concept of physical matter. This is a bit more outlandish than the other ideas, but feasible. Or maybe they decided they didn't like this universe, and went to find another one. Perhaps they uploaded themselves into a digital form, or placed themselves in some other state we can't perceive; it's hard to overemphasize how much their technology could be utterly beyond anything we can remotely comprehend after *three billion years* of advancement
Maybe they managed to piss off something bigger that came and ate them. Maybe they developed a new power source on all their worlds, but there was a malfunction with the core design and all of them were wiped out. Maybe they somehow became infertile and cloning somehow wasn't a viable solution, so they died of old age. Maybe they spread so far across the universe that they somehow lost contact with each other. There are *so many possible reasons* for such a species to not still be around.
Uncanny valley is used to determine if someone is alive or not since corpses can spread disease.

This is 100% true. You can look it up for yourself. FedEx is going to now have cameras on their trucks and the police will be able to watch all the cameras on the trucks all over the state. They are starting with 40,000 trucks as a pilot program and would soon go onto every truck.
I saw the new F150s that have cameras all over them is supposed to do that as well. Nobody watching, but the computer in the truck will send pictures of license plates of speeders to the police to ticket you in the mail

Funny thing, Fae Abductions of the Past almost 1 for 1 line up with Alien Abductions >.>
And that's what the one Supernatural episode was about.
Movie: The Watchers (2024). Fae are actually Nephillim.
@@Zivety but Nephilim are half Human half Angels... are you saying that the True Fae are in any way Human? >.>
@durk5331
I know every culture has their own version of this, so I'm just gonna use the movie example and parallels:
- Nephillim (human-angel hybrid)
Fae (human-fairy hybrid)
- Fairies and Angels/Fallen are know to shape shift
- "Aliens" appear to people in many forms and lie about their orgin.
Aliens, Fairies and Fallen angels are actually different names for the same thing: Demon
So Fae are also Demonic.
Thousands of people go missing in America's National Forest's
Missing 411
another explanation I've heard for Uncanny Valley is Rabies. People with rabies are a danger to be near, and there is something innately... wrong... with how they look and act, that we have developed an instinctual fear and avoidance of "Human, but wrong".
Also, our radio communications have not had time to travel all that far, so for all we know, there could be an alien race, just 5 ly away from the border of our current radio transmissions and we wouldn't know. Additionally, our transmissions are not going to remain perfect and 'legible' forever, they are going to degrade in quality due to noise and other factors.
I don’t believe this, but…
What if Harry Potter was a true story, but after the ending the wizards and witches were very worried that muggles would find out about them, so they wrote the story of events and cast a spell, and that spell went into JK Rowling’s brain and made her write harry Potter. And because of that, if someone gave proof the events halogen nobody would believe them because everyone ‘knows’ Harry Potter is a story, even though it is not.
Or an even more absurd theory
R2D2 was flying in a spaceship and crashed on a house, and that was Baby George Lucas’s house. He told George about Star Wars, and showed him the memories, which is the Star Wars movies. And George was a Jedi, so he found lookalikes of the characters, gave them money, and force tricked them into believing they were actors.

Not creepy enough? Her room's lock's orientation has changed.
It was a Z shape, and over night, it turned into a reverse Z shape.
The key no longer fit.
The key she carried with herself to open the door.
It freaked us out so much, but then I remembered that we bought two identical locks, so I pulled the one in the door out and compared them and...yes, the lock's orientation has changed.
Goosebumps just thinking about it.
Freakiest sh*t ever, though? When we stop playing at midnight, watch two episodes of a tv show(80 minutes in total) without stopping and by the time we are done, it's 4:30AM.
The only possible explanation I know is insanely terrifying.
Anyway, I have your explanation for the Fermi paradox: *they* know humans don't breed well in captivity.
When you really think about it, Von Neumann machines are far less practical than people think. They would have to use an immense amount of energy to travel around, which in turn would imply that they would have to use up materials that would have been better used for self-replication

One of the scariest theories I’ve heard about is that the universe isn’t expanding it just looks like that because of gravitational lensing due to a ultra massive black hole with about the same mass as the universe past the observable universe, so we can’t ever see it’s event horizon even though it’s not true it’s still terrifying to think about

The aliens never left....look around.
Scariest Theory I know is the 'Terra Theory' which doesn't have a proper name. I named it after some details in FFIX but even in the game what's going on isn't explained well.
In the game planet Terra exists in a parallel universe super imposed over planet Gaia if you were to think of two universes as photoshop layers. The Terrans learned how to take things from their layer... And put it over there -----> Where Gaia is. In other words it's a parallel earth.
Thing is, I heard that some people on THIS planet think there is indeed another earth. Well I mean multiversal theory would state there are infinite earths. Except the sapients on one particular earth managed to pierce the veil. Somehow. It's not technically piercing and more like 'broadcasting'. How it works would be like they take a craft and find some way to make it generate a field. As long as you are inside of that field you are taking a bubble of your universe and slowly 'tinkering with layer opacity' until you manifest on the other side. The drawback would be that you are only there as long as the field is and would go back to your side of the mirror if the field stops. This means you could 'look' and collect data but you couldn't really leave anything behind. Including any real evidence besides visual. Which is entirely worthless to the sapients you are observing from any practical scientific standpoint. If you are trying to be discrete however, this is *perfect*. Nobody is going to believe the locals when they say they saw a Space Ghost teleporting around.
You know those UAPs that just 'fly right through things' and don't give af about our physics?!
Science people doing science things. They may not even be 'people' if the variance caused another hominid species to take the same spot we inhabit on our rock.
This could also be why some people in important places are spooked. There would be the fear that somehow these visitors could figure out how to permanently manifest objects back and forth. If they were war-like they could then have a twin planet for the taking. No looking for a goldilocks zone. No worrying that 'the atmosphere rains molten diamonds down' The best part is, for all intent and purpose depending on variables all of the resource goodies are mapped out on their world. They would likely exist in the same areas!

My theory on uncanny valley: the idea of being scared of a blank and pale human-like face started with Michael Myers. So it is potentially true that a past predator "created" that fear in Humans, but it wasnt ancient.
We weren't the only hominids for a long time
Uncanny valley doesnt apply just to those traits. Who knows really, but the truth is we are wired to perceive patterns, even where they dont exist, we are wired to recognize other humans, anything that doesnt quite align with that, will inherently feel off.

The Dark Forest Theory
Hands down; BSC!
Statistics can't be formed without data from multiple sources. Since the only source of data we have on life is one place, our own planet earth, then statistics of "life on other planets" are currently an impossibility.
You just said nothing

Why did you say “slash” instead of “or”….
I was in the middle of a mental breakdown after I lost a lot family members, pets and friends over a period of 9 months and for some reason I decided to take a bunch of mushrooms and had this, epiphany I guess... and it made me sober up for a good 10 minutes before I started tripping again so take this with a grain of salt.
I think that when we die we're given a choice to either go back and live your life nearly the exact same way or you can move on to the next plane of existence. That's where the whole reunited with passed loved ones comes from, you don't join them in heaven, you just live your life over again.
We only pass on to the next plane of existence when we feel we have lived the right life, what I mean by that is every time you come back you carry memories from past lives that you can use to make a slight change to your current life. That's what deja vu is, whenever you have it you've either just made, or are about to make an important choice that could affect your choice on whether or not to come back the next time you die.
That's why some people are content when they pass while others are terrified and babies are born crying, the ones that are content have lived the right life, the ones that are terrified didn't and babies are born crying because whatever consciousness is it stays with us the entire time and when we are reborn we're crying because our memories are being un-remembered for lack of a better term. Not forgetten but... I don't even know the right word for it that's why I said un-remembered.
What is more plausable, a random unlikely event resulting in a brain. Or a brain evolving from a series of milluons of unlikely randon events? 🤔
12:51 Saaaaaaame!!
We may be the tip of the spear as far as consciousness in the universe plus if intelligent life existed no guarantee we could ever reach each other without worm hole travel or going faster than speed of light which is likely impossible.
We didn't want Israel to be associated with Apartheid? You're saying that with a straight face!?
Apartheid against a statistically significant portion of the US population would be more accurate. There simply aren't that many Arab Americans even now this is even more true in the 70s. The same cannot be said about African Americans plus at the time. The government was already dealing with the Soviets using the ethnic issues of African Americans as propaganda against them. Anyway I am not saying that it was moral or anything but that's probably the thought process. That would have went into the Carter administration making that decision. If it did in fact happen
@@Hakar17 The Palestinians have been forced into an Apartheid state no different than the South Africa of Mandela's lifetime.
