It seems like a lot of these "Mandela" effects revolve around misheard song lyrics or childhood memories. Children's memories are not always as clear as we believe them to be.
Wild right? If one person misremembers there are thousands of others just like him. And a wrong line can become so ingrained in pop culture that we assume it's a direct quote and would rather believe we've universe hopped instead.
@@thecaptainsnark I don't doubt validity to the Mandela effect, especially when the false memory is so widespread and seemingly random, but I don't think parallel universes are the answer, it's gotta be something in our psychology deeper than just misremembering, but just in our psychology nonetheless.

I have a question…. it’s about the Monopoly game and the Monopoly guy. I know with all my being that the guy had a monocle 🧐. Yes… he did and although he doesn’t in this timeline he did at some point. I know I’m not alone in this. Now…. my question is how does this change actually occur? Is it ‘us’ who remember him with a monocle who have moved to another universe or is it the other universe combining with ours? I know it sounds crazy and like science fiction but I know the monocle was a thing in the game. So…. something happened. I wonder more about how and also exactly when it happened. It’s truly a mystery that really cannot be proven because those of us who remember it correctly (with a monocle) and those who never remembered it that way are both from different universes. We just somehow have managed to occupy the same space now. Truly fascinating.
Freddy Krueger’s sweater is and always has been red and green. Those who say red and black or red and gray are wrong. I spent the better part of my life correcting people on this and I remember seen the movie in theaters and thinking that there was some connection between his sweater and Christmas that would be revealed later. The Eurythmics song has always been Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This) so anyone who’s been singing it differently is doing it because they’re imitating the way that Annie Lennox says “this” in one of the lines in the song where it sounds like these, but it’s not. she’s just trying to make it sound like a rhyme with seas later on. The title of the song includes “this” in the parenthesis and always has., Mandela effects are not signs of parallel universes or alternate multi-verses, they’re a sign of people getting song lyrics wrong all the time. They also show how bad people are at remembering details and also how wrong people can be when they swear they’re right.
@@HoniTheCircleMaker13 that’s likely the effect of the dark lighting and aging done to the sweater by the movie costume crew but it has always been red and green

Eurythmics- i heard this song first when i was a child and i knew she was emphasizing the word this with her soulful way of breathing: thee-us. A hint of mystery, all talent. ❤
Tbf it is an amalgamation of Europe, rhythm, and mathematics. The 80s were big on those mathematically driven rhythm's. Fun fact, Weezer has an algorithm that writes theirs songs. The lead singer attributes this to their catchy riffs and hit singles.
@ 6:29 Saw was ALWAYS "I want to play a game". The traps that he puts his victims in are not games that anyone would want to play willingly. The line in War Games was "Shall we play a game?"
exactly lol, and then they go onto say that "sweet dreams are made of these" would make more sense... who or what would "these" be? 😅 She also said that she was singing about her career not working out as she'd thought at the time, and that the world was a much more cruel place than she'd realized. "Sweet dreams are made of this, who am I to disagree? (trying to make it in the music industry) Travel the world and the seven seas, everybodys looking for something"
@@jenguerinnn I remember when the Sweet Dreams song came out (yes, I am that old) and I thought she was singing "these" at the time. But I discovered she was singing "this" back then, as I had read the lyrics in the 80's. It's just the way she sung it as she dragged it out.
I want a parallel universe where we’ve cured cancer and solved the climate crisis. A parallel universe where Freddy Krueger’s sweater is a different shade of green hardly seems worth the bother.
10:40 The information on this is incorrect. While the Bee Gees song "How deep is your love" DID play at the World Trade Center on 9/11, it did not play INSIDE the buildings. The thing about the sweater is easily debunked. It's a movie prop, there's going to be dozens of them to replace ones that get torn up and dingy. It's quite possible that in the batch they had, not all the sweaters were dyed/blended the same way and had variations of the green/grey/black tone. It happens all the time and most often is due to filming incontinuity in which they need replacements later on to reshoot a scene.
Come to think of it, when I watched Disney's Alice in Wonderland back in the 70s and 80s, when the Wonderful World of Disney aired on ABC and Had Tinker Bell fly over the castle (another Mandela Effect challenge), I distinctly remember Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum wearing red or orange colored propellors on their hats.
I will definitely dispute the claim that Snoopy's tail was solid black because Snoopy is a beagle and all beagles have white tips on their tails. No solid tails for a true beagle.
Yeah 3 is just so common with other things you have to repeat. Heck even Beetlejuice is said 3 times. So it’s not hard to see how people attribute that to Candyman.
Eurythmics...not Eurythmatics...unless the creator is living in a Mandela world themselves...also most of these seem like misunderstandings and not Mandela Effects.
There used to be a UK TV show in the mid 1980's called 'Boon'. Scottish singer Jim Diamond sung the title music which got to Number 5 in the UK singles charts in 1986. The main chorus goes: "Hi ho silver, here come the lone ranger, he's riding on down to rescue me"
Many supernatural entities are 3 times. Beetlejuice, Bloody Mary, etc. It's the "trend." Which makes this both weirder and more normal at the same time, lol. I also remember it three times, but with this specific one, I'm certain I can be wrong. I saw it a bunch as a kid, but not really since, so definitely the possibility of memory failure here.

Freddy’s Sweater has always been green and red. I’m sure it appears different on everyone’s screens depending upon the settings but pictures on the internet could have all kinds of causing the colors to be off. I believe in the original Nightmare on Elm Street his sweater didn’t have stripes on the sleeves but the torso was red and green and it’s always been red and green. The colors were specifically chosen to be red and green as part of the character.
The Priest who was in charge of my Catholic school was called Father Snoopy and was in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest collection so I guarantee you you his tail is white.
@Nobe_Oddy Even then, I always remembered it as being super shortened to, "Wanna play a game?" Edit: I want to add that I'm not a massive fan of the franchise, and this could very possibly be takeaways from parodies and stuff, lol.
While 'Mandela Effects' were once a fun and interesting concept...unfortunately, they are now overdone to the point where every single new one is clearly nothing more than a false memory. For example, I've been eating Baby Ruth candy bars for over 4 decades...yet, are they called, 'Baby Ruth', or 'BabyRuth', or Baby-Ruth'...honestly, I wouldn't bet my life savings on being 100% certain of either one. I think it's 'Baby Ruth'...but if it comes out that it's not, that's just a false memory of something I've seen for over 40 years, but never truly studied...NOT a Mandela Effect, yet this is what it's become these days. I can name over 3 dozen songs where the lyrics you 'think' are accurate, are not the 'actual' lyrics, because MANY songs have words spoken with weird pronunciations to fit the rhythm of the song. I also thought the lyrics were '...made of THESE'...because Annie Lennox pronounces 'this; in a way that makes it SOUND LIKE 'these'(something MANY songs do), but, like most, never read and studied the actual lyrics...we just assumed it was 'these'. Finding out it was actually 'this' is NOT a Mandela Effect...it's just folks finding out they were wrong in their assumption in what the actual lyric was. Shame Mandela Effects have gotten so overdone that they have come to this.
Me too. I watched it ONE time at a sleepover in 8th grade and this movie was so effed up. I remember it was 5x. Once was enough for me, I don't need to see it again. Horrifying.
Not necessarily. Bands change the lyrics to their songs sometimes, especially in live versions. I think a few of these were just cases of small changes being made.
This phenomenon is affecting MILLIONS of people. There are 10s of thousands and likely more of these Mandella Effects. If you haven't really followed or studied this, then yes I can see where coming to concussion of Collective False Memory could be a viable diagnosis. But just for a minute stop and really think about this. What exactly is Collective False Memory. It's not something that even accurately fits in this situatiin. It couldn't as there are simply to many senarios of this. Most importantly if people are remembering something else what are the odds millions of people are all going to all have the exact mistaken memory of someone else and numbering in the millions? The numbers are astronomically impossible. Even on one random thing let alone thousands and thousands. The only way that can happen this way is if they all actually had heard or seen it that way. No other time in history has history been changed like it has as of recent . Is is real very serious thing that is happening to every single person on this planet. The only real scientific proof about this subject falls in the quantum physics arena. Unfortunately, we the average citizen have no say in what they are doing with these LHCs like CERN, of which there are several world wide. We are at the mercy of the scientic community and a few groups of mad scientists playing with things we should not be messing with. I am only taking this time to reply to you because everyone needs to know what these organizations are doing without our consent. Look to CERN. It's in Europe. Boarders on France, Begium and its extremely m Is dangerous. The late world renowned Physicist, Steven Hawking was against the things being done at CERN for he was fearful of far more danage then even this being done. Our whole history as we know it's heading on being destroyed. You have to know this goes far beyond a songs lyrics! The Bible verses, historic events, i have seen change. This goes deep and no end in sight. Anyway for you for your friends, please take this seriously. Please look up what i an telling you about! I pray you do!
Those of us in the mandela effect community here on youtube (many of us contributing to those 2 subreddits), know something that people casually interested in the mandela effect do not realize…NO ONE is affected by every mandela effect. The candyman mandela has such residue supporting a reality where the name was said 3x (residue would be others memories but more importantly, the song lyrics) in addition to the current reality 5x. The more you delve into the mandela effect, the more you will realize that there are frequently more than 2 reality timeline memories. One of the mandela effects I found was the Britney spears hit me baby one more time skirt. Most remember a plaid skirt, but the skirt in this reality is solid black. But those that remember plaid, are split. Some remember a black/grey/white plaid skirt while others remember the traditional (& very popular at the time) red tartan plaid skirt. 3 timelines not two. My short on this ME shows the options but its the residue that is crazy…from Halloween costumes, to official Britney toys, everyone is in plaid. But the best residue id Britney herself. Not once but TWICE, Britney recreated the look for an event, either halloween or the anniversary of the song i cannot remember which. And BOTH TIMES, she recreated the look with a black/grey/white plaid skirt. I see new mandela’s every single day. I present them live each week and have been doing so for almost 6 years now. There are so many mandela effects, so many types of mandela effects, and even terminology we have had to invent to describe what we were seeing like residue, variation effect & manscuses (i coined that one, excuses that are used to explain away a mandela effect). The rabbit hole goes deep, its not just pop culture but differences with historical events, the galaxy, solar system, planets including our own, and rainbows, lots of rainbow things. Things get mandelad multiple times, too, like the statue of liberty, back to the future, the WTC, and star wars. Multiple mandelas multiple times and we have the records to show these incremental shifts in our timeline. But what it has NEVER been is faulty memory. I prove that each week. With residue and multiple people remembering things the same way…the way it is NOT today. Also theories, i have my own, but half of at least do NOT believe we live in a simulation. People always use that theory but it’s just lazy, it’s too easy. And cern is not causing this either..

Snoopy's tail is white and always has been. I am 56 years old and I was all about Peanuts when I was a kid in the 70s. All my Snoopy plushies have white tails. Sometimes the way Charles M. Schulz drew the 2 lines he used to draw the tail a little close and it would look darker but the tail was still shite, not colored in. NEVER was it black. I watched The Lone Ranger every single day, it was HI HO SILVER, AWAY! although sometimes when he yelled it, it sounded like "hi-yo." HI HO was a way of getting the horse to giddy-up, and Silver would rear up when he yelled it. How can you cover anomalies when you can't even pronounce "Eurythmics" correctly?! Eurythmatics?! LOL _really?!_ Come on man.Sweet dreams are made of THIS.
The only time Snoopy's tail has been thin and black is when it's shown as motion lines when dancing. As a teen I always thought Sweet Dreams was 'these' but I'm happy to admit I was wrong. If it has any relevance at all, people seem to forget Annie Lennox is Scottish (Dave Stewart was born in Sunderland) and the difference between 'this' and 'these' in pronunciation may not have been as significant when she and Dave Stewart wrote the song. It could just be poetic licence to match the rhyming structure.

I love that people would rather believe they live in alternate universes than just accept that they have shitty memories. The song has ALWAYS been titled "Sweet Dreams are made of THIS" even though she has always sang THESE. And the sword was ALWAYS in the anvil. Always. People are dumb.
I would love to know the overlap between people who genuinely believe in the mandela effect but also think being trans is a mental illness/not real. 'sorry in my universe it is maybe find a new one.'
I'm almost 62 years of age -- I remember the Disney movie The Sword in the Stone -- for me the sword has always been in an anvil -- because I remember thinking why are they calling an anvil a stone? I understand that the anvil itself is made of stone -- however it is an anvil after-all -- but since the story is loosely based on the King Arthur legend -- it makes sense to call it a stone -- because The Sword in the Anvil just doesn't quite have the right ring to it -- plus swords and anvils just seem to go together I suppose!! Pretty trippy if you ask me. Peace!

16:00 It’s just the way she says it, it’s easily misheard. She doesn’t just say it like ‘this’, she says it more like ‘ThEEEesss’ to make it rhyme better and it sounds a lot like she’s saying ‘these’ but she’s just saying ‘this’ really really weirdly. All the song lyrics ones are just misheard, misunderstood, or misremembered. Sometimes things are pronounced weirdly/incorrectly when singing, and grammar rules often go out a window in songs too.
You are tripping me out with the California Dreaming Mandela Effect -- this is a song that my brothers and I would harmonize together quite regularly when we were teenagers and even into adulthood at Karaoke bars and such -- and for me the lyric has always been: "I got down on my knees and I begin (not began or pretend) to pray -- even as I'm writing this I can hear the background vocals in my head -- singing: "I begin to pray!" I'm so confused right now -- WTF?! Peace!
Freddy Kruger sweater is and has always been red and green, which they refer to as "the ugly Christmas sweater," which explains why it's red and green. The only time it appears red and black, is when red lighting is in place during the scene. Red lights make green fabric appear black. They used a lot of red lighting when they entered Freddy's dreamworld to emphasize and simulate the fire and burning backgrounds.
Candy man was 3 times because we dared each other to do it after watching the film. Plus one of my favourite songs ‘candy man’ by space hog sings the line 3 times and I knew someone who refused to sing it but I would say ‘yeah but you sing the verse twice so it’s actually 6 times’

I absolutely recall the monocle and no amount of arguing can change my mind.

They also show how bad people are at remembering details and also how wrong people can be when they swear they’re right.
absolutely, Freddy Krueger's sweater was dark red and dark green, building a connection to Christmas' colors.
At an old job I had a coworker who wore a green and red sweater and we always called it the Freddy Kreuger shirt when he wore it.

It's the way Annie Lennox sings the word. It has always been this.

Yes. She kinda carries the "thiiis".
exactly lol, and then they go onto say that "sweet dreams are made of these" would make more sense... who or what would "these" be? 😅
She also said that she was singing about her career not working out as she'd thought at the time, and that the world was a much more cruel place than she'd realized. "Sweet dreams are made of this, who am I to disagree? (trying to make it in the music industry) Travel the world and the seven seas, everybodys looking for something"

I’m from the 5 candy man timeline 😂

But just for a minute stop and really think about this. What exactly is Collective False Memory. It's not something that even accurately fits in this situatiin. It couldn't as there are simply to many senarios of this. Most importantly if people are remembering something else what are the odds millions of people are all going to all have the exact mistaken memory of someone else and numbering in the millions? The numbers are astronomically impossible. Even on one random thing let alone thousands and thousands. The only way that can happen this way is if they all actually had heard or seen it that way.

Candy man was 3 times because we dared each other to do it after watching the film. Plus one of my favourite songs ‘candy man’ by space hog sings the line 3 times and I knew someone who refused to sing it but I would say ‘yeah but you sing the verse twice so it’s actually 6 times’
