St Louis rode Ottis till he had nothing left in the tank. He goes to NY to be primarily a short yardage, locker room veteran riding it out until retirement. He was pressed into action due to injuries and has couple more fantastic seasons. He deserves the Hall of Fame because when called upon, he delivered a super bowl championship
My fave of all time. I still get chills every time I see that red #32. I met him coming home from Tampa from Super Bowl 18. He was with Curtis Greer. He signed my newspaper. My hero. Ty OJA! You never let me down. And watching you win a Super Bowl MVP years later in Tampa was a sports memory of a lifetime!!!! God Bless. Long live the Big Red!

Man! O.J. Anderson was like a Chevy Camero. Sleek, low to the ground with surprising quickness, speed and power when he needed it. Would have been a sure fire Hall guy had he played for anyone else than the always a notch below Cardinals. By the time he got to the Giants, he was still effective but his speed was gone and he was too heavy (after years on that a astro turf) to be anything other than a between the tackles runner. Giants though would not have won that Super Bowl in '90 if he wasn't on the team. That's Facts!
He said once that he played hurt a lot in the middle of his career. I believe that, as he was so much less dynamic than he was when younger. Night and day, between the two IMO
I think in the next 10 years a lot of the 10,000yd+ career rushers are going to get hard looks at the HOF. With the declined usage of backs in general and so many of them being replaced by the age of 30, Derrick Henry and Ezekiel Elliott may be the last two to even cross 10,000yds. I'd like to think the guys that won Super Bowls rings like Ottis Anderson, Corey Dillon, Ricky Watters, Marshawn Lynch & Jamal Lewis might have just a little extra on the resume, but good arguments can be made for all of them. I think we all know Adrian Peterson & Frank Gore are no brainers.

Definitely belongs in HOF. I would take Anderson over Bettis in a heartbeat. And most GM’s too. His combination of size, speed, agility, durability and ability to catch out of the backfield was unparalleled.
