This was the perfect video to watch while gaming and relaxing tonight. I sometimes get very tempted to try bullet journaling again as my main goal planner, but I know I won't be able to make it look this nice! Your cat just wanting you to open the door analogy was so hilarious.
I bit the bullet Jess and got 2 A5 bujos. I have always been the odd ball with using a lined disc journal. Main reason, my OCD and ADHD with perfection of my layouts.😊 I could easily pull out the page and continue but, it was hard to find "good" dot grid pages and hard to use lined pages. Plus I could print charity pages and punch and fit them in. But, my goals got lost in all of the pages. So, I now have an A5 dot grid goals and R&D. Just hoping my OCD and ADHD take a back seat cause I love the dot grid and size.
If you need the lines perfect in the dot grid, use cheap washi tape you don't like to make a border around those lines, like she has in many videos. Or, as someone with those 2 issues as well, you'll find you stop caring about perfect lines because of how much freedom you have to create without the pre-inked lines. I'm even at the point where I don't get angry at myself if I have a visible layer line from where I filled a box twice since it didn't fill it all the 1st pass over. I have an untouched lined square journal that won't get used for anything creative because I HATE when there's lines under/through a doodle or sticker.
I always love watching flip through journal videos they’re great and obviously I am not you lol but I feel like the square journal really suited your style and how you plan and I’m super excited to see what you do in the new planner. I just watched that video which was wonderful and amazing and I loved it And I’m excited to see, like I said what you do in that journal but it just seems like the square journal really just fits the way that you plan. Again I’m not you I know you’re experimenting and that’s always a good thing to do because you never know you may like it more but I’m excited to see future Videos.❤😊
The square was a really good time, yeah! I've been trying multiple sizes over the past two years (A5, B5, B6, Travelers, and then Square) and square is definitely my second-love after A5 😄💜
Always love a video to remind me that I actually need to do the tasks I spent ages putting into my journal! Also love your openess about not using certain spreads or even not using the journal for chunks of time, I always feel so guilty!
I feel guilt too sometimes, especially when setting up the layout took a lot of time, or I just really like the way it looked 😝 but I’m slowly learning to let the guilt go 👌
You truly excel at coming up with great layout ideas. The GOAT imo. Even though I'm not currently a student, many of these designs can be applied to various aspects of adult life. Thanks!
My problem is Not being able to abandon a layout and just get stuck begrudgingly filling it in for however long the period is 😂 (last time that was 6 weeks! Ouch!) Like I was literally duplicating info and I just... I could not abandon it 😅 glad that problem is over for now though!
Sometimes when I feel compelled to do something with a layout that I haven’t been filling in, I will just write a sticky note to tell myself why it didn’t get filled in. It’s not exactly the same as having all of the information in there, but it does scratch the itch of feeling the need to have it “finished” 💜
Ok, wildly odd questions. I swear I was watching you (may have been a live even) and it showed stamps as an unexpected tool that you were using because the star rating system fit within the square boxes. Was that you? I'm like desperately trying to find the Etsy shop from that video... sorry in advance if it wasn't you 😊
