I mentioned this in your New Years Resolution video but I got rid of 59 garbage bags of crap from my apartment!! The thing about minimalism that a lot of people don't understand is you part with the things you don't want/use, and you keep the things you love. In the end you are surrounded with things you love and it makes your life that much more happier and stress free. :)
You are right about the fantasy self, I’ve been on and off my painting activity my whole life. Something can be not relevant one day and relevant the other day. If it makes you happy, just keep it, as simple as that.
I love that you specify that you're decluttering items you won't need to rebuy! It's such a good time to identify things that need fixed or evaluated.... I love it! Can't wait to see the rest!
Women's shelters can use make-up and they will take open and used products if you drop them off in person (and in a pretty case)... they are great treats for women starting out all over again~ (a GOOD make-up brush could change a woman's life, as we all know). As well as a used straight-iron WoW
luggage-bags, locks, purses and ESPECIALLY hard make-up cases are needed by #meToo women. Now that shelters have WiFi: I've noticed a need for secure cases and recharging devices (which can then be put into the luggage bag with a lock). Thermos, small re-usable food containers, scented soaps and some will love Art materials as Art Therapy is usually available~
I had not yet heard the term "Fantasy Self", but I /love/ your view on it. Thank you. I agree with you completely, and feel I've been given permission to not kill all my maybes. lol
Lucy, if you have netflixs, there is this amazing women who is changing people's lives. She's called Marie Kondgo, and the show is called tidying up. I have 8 black bags of clothes to go to the charity shop, I was shocked house feels better already X
Lucy, I think those are stabilizers for your clothes washing machine. You use them when you move so the washer doesn't break, so don't toss those!!! I am in the process of unpacking as my husband and I just moved to a new city. I know you should declutter before you move, but I didn't have the time to before. Right now I am organizing and tossing out/giving away anything we no longer use or enjoy. The biggest area for this in my home is in my kitchen. I have accumulated so much kitchen stuff from when my husband and I moved in together initially and then as wedding gifts later. It is good motivation to see you clearing your home as well. I'm looking forward to part 2 of this!
I loved this!! I recently did a massive declutter as well and it felt so so good! I do agree with you on not killing your fantasy self, though! It's happened to me a lot of times that I suddenly got back into something after years and years
This is so inspiring! In addition to useless items I have straight up crap, like old papers and clothes from 10 (or more) years ago. Must do something!
Decluttering is one of my goal as well, but such a challenge at times, especially school related notes, projects and papers. I don't know why. Also, I'm glad you didn't get rid of your art supplies haha :)
I started to declutter my appartment very seriously about two years ago, because I was so lazy and never did it before since I moved in six years ago. I feel your fatigue! Don't give up or you'll end up like me 😂 My biggest new years resolution is to reclaim my office/hobby room, because it became a dumping place and I really only go in there to hang up my washing. Videos like this give me so much motivation! 💞
I began to read Marie Kondo book in the autumn. I also watch her in Netflix and RUclips. You are very clever to manage a lot of categories in one day. Well done 😊
I so need to do this. We were active duty military for a long time and when you don't have a home to call your own and you move allot the things you collect are all you have. So needless to say after three kids and many years of marriage we have collected ALLOT of stuff so we really need to get rid of allot of it. That is on my bucket list this year!
You know with any powdered makeup if it breaks you can make it into a paste with alcohol and then put back in container and let dry and it is reuseable again.
woah, that Fantasy Self thing was so nice, I never thought it that way. I do that, but I wasn't aware I did it and now it all makes sense AND I WILL KEEP ALL MY INSTRUMENTS!!!
Hey Lucy! This is an ongoing goal that I actually love doing.. it always feels so nice to lighten the load so to speak! I aim to donate at least a couple times a year. You did awesome :) craft stuff is a weakness for me as well! Can't wait for part 2 🖤🖤🖤 good luck!
I an currently also in my decluttering journey so this video is great! Seeing you go through your crafting/knitting etc supplies made me realize that I have always just ignored the possibility of decluttering my sewing supplies. It's really daunting and same as you I don't really want to get rid of much, but it might be a good idea to have a look through it at least some time! Can't wait for part 2! :)
I love to watch decluttering video. It makes me feel calm and optimistic. And I really like your chest for knitting supplies, I wanna buy one like that).
There's a whole show on Netflix about tidying up, Tidying Up With Marie Kondo, and she goes to people's houses and helps them declutter and organize! She guides people to thank the objects they're getting rid of for letting them enjoy the item for the time they had it. She's so kind and gentle in her ways. I thought you might find it interesting (-:
I love those videos, they always inspire me to go through my stuff and declutter (even though everything I own fits in a room or a bit more - traveller here so I can't keep too much with me x)) One thing that might be silly but maybe could be interested would be to make a video about how to get rid of those things - I mean I know that charity and women shelters for example will take clothes, make up, books, etc. but a lot of those are really tricky and I feel really bad throwing everything away, even if I try to recycle. So if you have tips or ideas I think that'd be great to share them :D (I'm pretty sure - or at least I'm hoping - that I'm not the only one in this situation!)
The problem with that is what you can do with waste/old items varies SO MUCH from country to country, even city to city! I only really know how things work here in Amsterdam and I don't think that would be very useful :(
I envy how many brushes you own! I adore makeup brushes 😊 You mentioned only keeping items that bring you joy... Have you been watching Hannah Louise Poston's channel? 😕😜 She's so great. If you haven't you should check her out. ☺
It’s bothered me for so long but may I ask where you got that cat patterned tote bag? I’ve been wanting one exactly like that to just throw in my purse! Love your videos so much btw!! :)
That is actually a real job in some countries, you can search in your region :) In my country we call the "professional organizer" person. They come to your home and check your area, sometimes they need to go and buy supplies (bins and baskets for comfy storage), and then they go through the areas you ask them to. Usually its wardrobe or kitchen cabinets etc. But you may be involved in any way, cos person can not decide for you - do you like this object or do you need it. Obviously the broken and expired things are not going back in your closet :) but the rest is basically up to you.
Not at all! Getting your makeup done professionally isn't part of the Dutch culture at all. Most women get their makeup done once in their life, on their wedding day. There are loads of makeup artists though, so the competition is quite intense. I found it hard and very stressful to find clients. Also, when I did have a client it was nearly always a bride, and as much as I loved doing those I felt SO MUCH pressure not to mess up their face on their big day that I'd be nervous for days. TL,DR: the money I was making wasn't worth the stress 😂
@@Loepsie Ok, that makes sense. You mentioned before in videos that makeup/ fashion is not big in The Netherlands. So I imagine how hard it would be to find clients. Also, doing wedding makeup not only must be stressful, but also doesn't spark your creativity a lot, I imagine lol. I love how you put your makeup skills to use in the videos. Different decades, characters and Halloween. It made me want to learn it. Maybe it would be cool to work for a magazine or with a photographer on photoshoots, so here's an idea lol. I hope you can get back to it one day! And I love how you're planning to return to art stuff, too. Thanks for answering.

you are so sweet!
I’ve never seen that many makeup brushes in my life, lol. Good job!

I read her book a few years ago, love it! 😄
Thank you for that recommendation. I have just watched an episode. :D
Reflections and love I remember how huge her book was on RUclips a few years ago. It’s funny to see it trend again like it’s new.
Another good one is Declutter your life with Feng Shui by Karen Kingston. I liked Marie Kondo but it didn't work as well for me as this book.

@@Loepsie I'm glad it wasn't too late!
Love how you declutter by different categories like medicines, art supplies, hair tools etc! God bless! Please keep your videos coming!
If you bought a wax warmer you can take the remaining wax out of candles whose wicks have burnt up, and burn the wax in the wax warmer!!

I've loads of wool, but going to keep all of it as I'm going to crochet things to put on my esty shop. It's so hard to not buy more wool 😂
I thought I was one of the only girls to hate the scent of coconut, I'm glad I'm not alone!!

What do you think of the jade roller? I have been doing research on it and am interested in your opinion! Cheers!
It gives a wonderful relaxing & cooling facial massage and I love it for that, but I don't believe it does anything else
Do you ever organise your teas. Would love "a tea time with leopsie " or a vlog
