If this helps, I use old tea and spent tea and mix them into shower body scrubs. Just salt (or sugar) + oil of choice + old tea. Sometimes I also add a few drops of a spent candle for extra fragrance 😅. Smells nice and calms the skin. Also tea-dying cloth and paper is fun.
I got this idea from another YTer who has a large collection of mugs: she stores most of them and brings out a small subset like a capsule wardrobe. Once I started doing that, I also started doing it with my abundance of teas. It makes the new ones you bring out fresh and new, so more exciting to drink up. Still plenty of options, but not an overwhelming amount, and the dopamine hit of "newness" when the next batch comes out. I haven't done it, but Google says tea leaves freeze well for long-term storage. I also fall into the trap of keeping little dribs and drabs b/c I don't want to drink the very last of something I like, so have added a little shopping list of what to buy when I get down a few.
Hi Lucy, I'm from Ireland so I wanted to give a bit of insight on "Irish Breakfast Tea"/ Black tea, as we drink it on a daily basis. 😊 So it is quite strong, so I usually steep it only for 1-2 mins max, otherwise i would use 1 tea bag for a whole pot of tea. Also, traditionally we add a drop of milk to our tea (some add sugar but personally i dont think it's necessary). And of course, we pair it with some nice biscuits! 🍪 I hope this helps a little 😊☕
I have this same obsession. If you place the ones you have a small amount that could be finished in a cup or two, place those up front so you remember to use them up. That way you create room for gifts or special finds.
Make sure when you plant mint in your garden that it's in its own pot. It'll take over your ENTIRE garden. Trust me from experience. Lol I'm a huge fan of black teas, especially Irish Breakfast tea lol. I do enjoy a few fruity teas (peach and apple cider blueberry) as well as a couple green teas (jasmine and mint). Hope you have fun planting your herbs/garden soon!
As a fellow tea collector, I'd love to know which are your favorite online shops for tea! You mentioned a few specific websites by name and I'm having a delightful time reading through their different tea blends. Any chance you'd make us a list of your favorite tea shops (especially those with online presence so we could order internationally)?
If you want a tea recomendation I allways recomend my favorit. Oolong tea. It's called tie kuan yin. The only tea I could say sure I can love with just this tea rest of my life. Green teas with roasted rice is perfekt to food as well
Thanks for the inspiration, Loepsie! It's raining here in California and a perfect day for this. I decluttered my stash while watching this. Now I have someone from my local "buy nothing" group coming to pick it up this afternoon.
I really enjoyed this video, Loepsie! So relaxing and satisfying. I would love to see a video where you taste-test different teas - (maybe the Icelandic moss tea)!
Hello ! It's been a while I follow your adventures. Glad to see your evolution ! Advices : your old tea you can put it in a composteur instead of throwing them in the garbage can ! :D
I've been working in different tea shops in London so have collected quite a bit of teas and samples. During lockdown I managed to finish off everything and ditched those teas that didn't look fresh/appealing. Now I buy every time a little selection of 5/6 teas and only rebuy when I've finished them/if I fancy a specific new one. Tea doesn't expire but it doesn't get better if aged (unless it's a pu erh) and is best fresh especially if drinking for health benefits :) The glass jars look fantastic however I think it's best to store tea in a dark place for freshness. Loved your video !
I love tea so much! I like black tea best and some herbal! I would love to have a cup of your Irish breakfast tea. 😊❤ this video is amazing and so relaxing. You are very charming. Xoxo
So nice to see you on a Tuesday. I was just going through my tea cupboard this weekend. Thanks for sharing your method for determining when tea goes bad.
You drink the Irish breakfast tea with milk! It’s super nice if you like milk in your tea (which I do). You steep it with a bag per person and one for the pot 😜 If you like green tea with jasmine and want a caffeine free option you can try jasmine pearls. It’s my all time favourite evening tea.
Find the witch lady! Every day make two cups of tea using the older teas; this will use them up, and your tea collection will always be full of fresh teas. Have a great week, xoxo's Sandie😊
If you ever get the chance, my favorite teamaker is Smith tea in Portland, Oregon and they have a tea called black lavender and it is a black tea with lavender, rose, and vanilla and it is so lovely and delicious 😊 i have it every morning
One of my favorite teas is also from a little witchy shop on a medieval market! :) It is a herbal tea with rose and it just tastes so lovely. I am looking forward to june when this exact market will be open again, and I will make sure to look for her. Thank you for your inspiring tea collection declutter! :)
The white tea, peach and Jasmine oh my God I wanna try it! I LOVE tea!!! I usually drink Darjeeling when I wake up. I like coffee as well but I can't have caffeine. Tea has some too but not as much.
I like earl grey a lot-also with lemon juice and sugar or honey (buckwheat gives it an interesting flavour), also mint, green, rooibos and fruity tea. Hot Italian lemon and as a cold brew I just love peach. Cold brew is something I really enjoy-it extracts different flavours from the blend, I got an orange tea which is so hot, but genius as a cold brew
Linden flower tea with rose petals is such a good base to build a sweet tea off of. I've added orange rind, clove, ginger, strawberries, or just left it at the two. You don't even need honey or sugar! And really strong lavender tea with milk is THE BEST stomach soother I've ever had. This was a very fun video, thanks for reminding me how much I like tea! 🍵
Hi Lucy, I love your outfit!! 😍I know they were both made by you! I sew clothing and it's always rewarding to wear your own handmade clothing! 2 teas I love are 'Horchata' and Ecuadorian herbal tea blend with tons of herbs, I think about 28 herbs. Another is London Fog!!! So good! Thank you for your videos, I always love watching them!
I love tea, think this is my favorite White Temple. It contains: Mao Feng White Tea, China Silvery Needle White Tea, Candied Pineapple Pieces, Candied Mango Pieces, Natural Flavor, Orange Peel, Candied Papaya Pieces, Strawberry Pieces, Currants, Apricot Pieces, Sour Cherries.
Hello! I don't have a remarkable tea... i think 🙂but i do love Pukkas night time berry, night time, blackcurrant, echinea etc. Pukka has so many good ones! Yogi also a lot of flavours i like. My favourite black tea has always been russian earl grey and plain lemontea, and chai. Also... rhubarb and cream tea... oh my, it's SOOO good! Thank you for this video, so relaxing and calming to look at, as always! My friends and family often point out how much tea i have... next time i'll tell them to watch your videos, LOL 😀 Lots of love from Sweden!
I don't believe you would have tea collection as old as mine... 25+ years!!! All still in their original tins. I also have the exact same tin of Jasmine tea as you have ❤ Got them all from friends and family, but I don't drink as much tea as you do now, so just in and not much out 😅 I'll just continue to keep them until we were moving in a much smaller house with less storage- we are empty nesters 😊 I do like a tea I found from Amazon years ago, I've rebought them a few times - it's by planet organic - Rosehip Hibiscus Organic Herbal Tea. Tea bags with no strings, tags nor envelopes 😊
This video was perfectly timed! What's funny though is our tea tastes our pretty opposite lol. I'm having to motivate myself to use up/drink the collection of herbal teas I've amassed over the past few years. I much prefer black teas. My top 5 faves are from Harney & Sons: Decaf Vanilla Comoro, Tower of London, Victorian London Fog, Royal Palace, and Paris
My mum owns a herbal/spiritual shop and she sells amazing tea blends as well. My favourite is Choco Chai! If you ever find it somewhere, you should definitely get it :) it has lovely chai spices with little hints of chocolate 🥰
Yay for an extra video! Love that!! I was wondering about how your tea was set up in your new house. Great job decluttering and organizing and sharing your tea hobby with us!
Licorice Root Tea is not supposed to be consumed as any other tea or herbs. It should be strained and filtered very firmly and be put in fridge for hours to be quit cold before drinking it. So you can't drink it in hot water as any other tea! We do adore it in the middle east because it's the most tasty and refreshing drink in summer
That tin of Jasmine green tea takes me back to college too lol. When I'm not drinking coffee (which I do non-stop), I'll have a vanilla chai or Chinese chrysanthemum tea. My partner's the real tea drinker in my house.
What a fun and relaxing video! My tea taste is fairly limited to "basic" flavors - Earl Grey, Oolong, Green with Lemongrass. A variety that is quite unique, that I LOVE, is called Lapsang Souchong. It is smoky. It literally smells like a campfire or a lit match. Sometimes when I'm steeping it though, I forget, and I start to wonder if something is on fire. Anyway, hear me out, an alternative silly "clickbait" title for this video could be "I smelled all the tea in my kitchen. Here's what I learned."
Yeah, I also have an ungodly amount of tea. I try to limit the number of teas I have open at any given time to force myself to actually use teas up, instead of having a bunch of almost empty tins in the cabinet. It used to be really hard to find interesting teas in the US, especially when it came to herbal teas, but companies really stepped up their game during the pandemic. That didn't stop me from loading up on tea when I visited Germany last year though. I am amazed airport security didn't question me, because my entire carry-on was filled with tea. If you ever get a chance to try Ronnefeldt's Morgentau tea, it's a really nice green tea blend with mango and floral notes. Also, I am a sucker for all of Teekanne's Christmas flavors, which I drink all winter long. Another tea that I love is Kusmi's White Anastasia, think Earl Grey, but made with white tea. Luckil,y they sell that one in the US, so no flights required.
I love tea and most tea tends to be too strong for me, so I usually rip the bags open and put smaller amounts in smaller tea bags to enjoy just a little cup of tea. In doing this, I can also have three to four differnt kinds of tea each day throughout the day. Love my tea!
My favorite teas are usually black teas. I love Earl Grey and Chai, especially. But I found a tea by the brand Republic of Tea recently called Get Some Zzz’s that is a rooibos blended with orange peel, spearmint leaf, chamomile flower, and passionflower, and it really surprised me how much I like it! I had a bad experience with rooibos the first time I tried it, so this one was a nice surprise. That same brand also has a really good Blackberry Sage tea and a Ginger Peach tea.
I need to gather all my tea together and take stock. I've got some from too many years back that needs to either be drunk or tossed. I drink Earl Grey or English Breakfast most mornings, but I recently discovered a Salted Caramel Oolong that is delicious
My favourite tea might be Prague's Secret, that I got... at a tea store in Prague 🤣 It's a fruity black tea, but I don't know what else it has because the label is in Czech and I keep forgetting. A close second is another tea from that store. I think the name was something like Enchanted Forest but I lost the label. All I know is that it was such a wonderful green tea that tasted amazingly both hot and cold (perfect for /someone/ who keeps forgetting her tea until it's already cold...). I want to try the "moss" tea. I love moss and I'm not afraid to drink it. 🤣
Whenever I feel like I have too much of something (make-up, candles, food, shower products) I make it a priority to use the unloved ones up. That way I’m not throwing anything away but can buy sone new stuff guilt free
I guess this may not be the most popular type of content on your channel, which is unfortunate because it is perfect and I love the tea stories. So calming and for some mysterious reason I now find myself in desperate need of tea 🤔 One of my favorites is herbal blend by Sonnentor brand called Nápoj druidů in Czech. Also genmaicha, that is my go to green 😊
Omg I have the same love for tea! I finally had to force myself to use up what I currently have before I bought anymore, especially since space is a little tight. I now mostly have green teas and focus on florals since those are also my favorite
This is so niche but I love it! You’re validating my own tea obsession haha. I am pregnant now and need to curb my caffeine intake so I have serious FOMO hearing you talk about those black and green teas 🥺
I’m kind of a child when it comes to tea but my absolute favorite is clipper white tea and orange!! so so good with a little bit of lemon juice and sweetener
I just built a cabinet to neatly house all my tea, and it's wonderful not needing to dig around for what I'm after! I'm loving green rooibos right now. Always on the hunt for decent decaf black teas because I do love it, but the jitters!
One of my current favorites is a black tea called Hot Ghoul Tea by Spooktacular Tea. It's the perfect london fog tea, and I just can't stop drinking it. It smells and tastes amazing. It's about time I order more.
i am on a MISSION with my teas. my brother got me .45kg (1lb) each of chamomile and mint over four years ago and i've hardly made a dent in them. he then got me a 3 month herbal tea sample subscription last year, so i have 9 teas with mostly a hibiscus base to drink up. unfortunately, i don't love hibiscus flavour - but some of them are still drinkable for me. i'm also nearly done drinking up all the Twinnings teas i bought last year but have hardly any flavor to them. it's such a grody tea brand! i'm also trying to finish up a sample i got from a local spice shop - it isn't my fav. and then... hopefully... i can just keep my tried and true favs in stock. if anyone is reading this - i would love a decaf or herbal Earl Grey rec. my tea rec - Celestial Seasoning's Bengal Spice Tea. if you wanna be punched in the mouth with flavor. it's essentially a herbal masala chai. add milk to lessen the intensity.
I'm pretty basic when it comes to tea. I like to drink it at night or when I'm sick, so I choose herbal teas. Peppermint and chamomile are my favorites. I enjoy a good cinnamon tea every once in a while too. But I'll pass on basic black tea, and green tea tastes like spinach water to me. LOL
We have very much opposite tea tastes but I really enjoyed hearing what you have in your collection! Now figuring out how to acquire Icelandic moss tea...
Omg! Maybe make some Christmas ornaments with the teas you declutter! Have you seen those ornaments made with cinnamon and glue? Maybe you could do the same vibe but with tea!
Hi Lucy, and anyone how could enlightened me on this question: I'm from South American, over here it's normal to keep the tea on metal or darker pots(?). The point is protect them from light. You use to storege yours on glass containers, doing this isn't bad for tea?
One of my favourite teas is called christmas tea and I do drink it year around, I was born in December so maybe that explains. That irish tea sounded interesting, maybe I try it one day. Greetings from Finland!
I do "suffer" from a big tea collection as well. During my studies I worked in a tea shop in Germany for the brand "Ronnefeldt", maybe you are familiar with them? I love their tea and tea blends! Some of my favourites from Ronnefeldt are: Rooibos Orange-Sahne (Cream), Chocolate-Chai, Irish Malt (it's a black tea with chocolate and whiskey flavour) and Milky Oolong. They used to sell a black tea with chocolate-coconut flavour as well, but unfortunately, they stopped producing it. Could you share, which brand you get yours from? 😊 I also love, love, love Japanese Green Tea and Jasmine Tea. 🌼🌿 Oh and of course Genmaicha! 🍵
I’ve used teas that I didn’t like the taste of or that I could tell have lost their flavor in the bath just for the scent. Also I wonder if you could make them into little pouches for drawers or closets like you can buy that are often lavender filled to make your clothes smell good 🤔 not sure how long they would be fragrant for.
You need a Oolong tea. I recomend Tie kuan yin. Delicius. This is my only allowed to drink one type rest of my life choise Also green tea with roasted rice is so good to food
I don't fancy tea that much, I'm more a coffee person but I do have quite a few nice teas. Mostly Green and herbal ones as I'm not a big fan od black tea. But I do have a special one which I brought from my last year trip to Scotland which is Black tea with Heather which is actually quite amazing, specially with a bit of oat milk. I think I should plan jest trip there to replenish it śoon 😅.
I actually prefer to buy herbs, fruits and flavourings separately and make my own blends. They each have their own medicinal properties so what I blend depends on what I am needing at the time. Even the teas you are discarding could be combined with something else.
Don't know if it's just me but I've been watching your videos for so long and maybe I started at the wrong age.. I started at the age of 29 but watching these now.... I just wanna shout, the tea that is basically empty, get rid of it or just make a cup now and then free up the jar! Also I drink herbal teas all the time, how do you not drink through the jar without replacing it within a month?
I love the tea brand Palais des Thés. I order from their webshop and have never been disappointed. My favourites are Thé du Louvre (slightly fruity floral green tea), Blue Mountain (floral and fruity black tea), Violette (this black tea actually tastes and smells like violet flowers 🤩), Paris for her (sweet fruity floral green tea). I like so many more from their collection but these are the ones I reorder every time I run out! 🫖 I’m so tempted to check out that Peony tea you mentioned, I hope they deliver to Denmark 😅
Ooh this is genius!
@@AB-ft7ng oh! And if I’m being lazy, I just add the tea to my bath water. In a bag or not 🤷🏻
Spent as in used tea leaves?

I'm getting so many ideas now... a Christmas in July tea episode where you can sit down and drink your Christmas blends!
Thanks for the inspiration, Loepsie! It's raining here in California and a perfect day for this. I decluttered my stash while watching this. Now I have someone from my local "buy nothing" group coming to pick it up this afternoon.
My absolute favourite tea is Milky Oolong, basically oolong tea flavoured with milk steam. It's so good!
I really enjoyed this video, Loepsie! So relaxing and satisfying. I would love to see a video where you taste-test different teas - (maybe the Icelandic moss tea)!

I love tea so much! I like black tea best and some herbal! I would love to have a cup of your Irish breakfast tea. 😊❤ this video is amazing and so relaxing. You are very charming. Xoxo
oh i absolutely loved this video!!! I completely forgot about your tea colleciton videos, this brought me so much joy.

I had no idea there were so many kinds of tea, but I'm American (of course) and hot tea isn't really a big thing here. This was fascinating!

Okay now i crave tea ☕

This is the most relatable video... I put all of my tea on my table and my friend called it the "table of shame" ahaha
you have just as much tea as I have! and I have a lot. we love tea and drink it daily but yes I Need to declutter mine too :)
Toasted bancha is one of my favourites! I also love toasted mate chá (yerba mate), but I still think I prefer the tradicional chimarrão over the tea.
Yay for an extra video! Love that!! I was wondering about how your tea was set up in your new house. Great job decluttering and organizing and sharing your tea hobby with us!

This was a really interesting watch. I actually really enjoy English Afternoon tea, it's so delicate and light.

My favourite tea is Tieguanyin. It's a very pleasant oolong so it's pretty versatile.
Maybe you could also do something like a "project pan" for your tea where you focus on one tea of each type to use up.
Omg I have the same love for tea! I finally had to force myself to use up what I currently have before I bought anymore, especially since space is a little tight. I now mostly have green teas and focus on florals since those are also my favorite
We’ve got like 12-15 different types of tea in my house… your collection is far better! 😅
Oh that sounds like the perfect amount, actually 😊
This is so niche but I love it! You’re validating my own tea obsession haha. I am pregnant now and need to curb my caffeine intake so I have serious FOMO hearing you talk about those black and green teas 🥺
I’m kind of a child when it comes to tea but my absolute favorite is clipper white tea and orange!! so so good with a little bit of lemon juice and sweetener
I get the whole licorice candy thing, I’m from Sweden and love licorice but I have so many international friends who hate it 😂
I just built a cabinet to neatly house all my tea, and it's wonderful not needing to dig around for what I'm after! I'm loving green rooibos right now. Always on the hunt for decent decaf black teas because I do love it, but the jitters!
Now i think, i have to get white tee with peonies petals. That mix sounds lovely
This is so satisfactory ❤
Such a cozy video 😍 and made me want to expand my tea collection 😄
Woah! You're shorter hair looks so good!
You should make a tea journal
Omg! Maybe make some Christmas ornaments with the teas you declutter! Have you seen those ornaments made with cinnamon and glue? Maybe you could do the same vibe but with tea!
ooh licorice tea! Where did you buy it? I would love to try it.
Hi Lucy, and anyone how could enlightened me on this question: I'm from South American, over here it's normal to keep the tea on metal or darker pots(?). The point is protect them from light. You use to storege yours on glass containers, doing this isn't bad for tea?
Hello.....I have been watching your videos for 3 year😇
One of my favourite teas is called christmas tea and I do drink it year around, I was born in December so maybe that explains. That irish tea sounded interesting, maybe I try it one day. Greetings from Finland!
As someone who is new to teas, how does one correctly make tea. I know it has to do with temperature and timing. Can you do a video on that maybe?
I also love, love, love Japanese Green Tea and Jasmine Tea. 🌼🌿 Oh and of course Genmaicha! 🍵
Me love green teas with roasted rice and my biggest favorit is Oolong tie kuan yin.
Lucy you are such a sweetheart.
You need a Oolong tea. I recomend Tie kuan yin. Delicius. This is my only allowed to drink one type rest of my life choise
Also green tea with roasted rice is so good to food
Moss tea is good for your thyroid.
It’s true, yea does not ever go bad,but a sure fire way to ruin tea is to store it in clear glass jars and let it get exposed to sunlight…
Omgggg link the sweaterrrrr 🙈
I made it 🥹 My first hand knitted sweater!
I love your tea videos. I've tried licorice tea. I don't like it. In fact I don't likeclicorice at all with the exception of Dutch licorice.
First
No such thing as too much tea. Unless there's no room to store them.
“Tea Declutter”? are you trying to start a battle with Britain?? I can hear someone screaming “blasphemy”
Ohh sounds like we have a very similar taste in tea, those sound absolutely amazing! I had a violet tea in France once and it was incredible 😍
hi lucy! what are your favorite companies to buy tea from? my best friend is also a tea fanatic and this video reminded me of her 😂
My absolute fav is a store in Haarlem called The Art of Tea, their teas are incredible and make up the majority of my collection ☺
You’ve encouraged me to branch out on flavors/types. Granted mine is sweetened w/ Tupelo honey and poured over ice. I am southern after all (USA). 😂
