I've been watching alot of TSD sparring competition vids lately and I'm kind of disappointed when I see black belts who really look like they've barely sparred before. TSD is a combat art. I don't care if you're a practitioner who doesn't like sparring because you learn the techniques should you have to fight, even if you don't want to, you still have to survive and win. This isn't the art I was brought up in, not close.
@@TheMrdent I don't even think it looks like he's done the training. He has no idea where his foot is in relation to his opponent. He hardly extended any of his kicks - side kick was half-hearted - so was the spinning back kick. The winner of this match won because he knew how to kick and punch - not because he was a fine example of Tang Soo Do. It boggles my mind that anyone felt proud enough to post this video. When I was stationed in Korea (many years ago), green belts looked sharper and more aggressive.
Here's a nice look at practitioners sparring in traditional Tang Soo Do as I saw it done in Korea. I was never this good - but they are masters level (5 & 6th Dan most likely) but I like to think I looked more like this one than the video above. :ruclips.net/video/sDru6IflT9c/видео.html
Congrats but I would of spanked Carlton he was just playing smart throwing hands where he earning points u would of had to come correct with me... look decent tho
Honestly I don’t like these other systems that are for show and not for actual fighting. Strikes are from point A to B and you don’t need to do spins with a kick that’s not even powerful

How did that tall guy ever get that black belt?
he obviously did the training but that doesnt mean hes confident in sparring. hell, that might have been the guys first comp for all we know.
