While Shao Kahn was dragged away, it’s important to remember that we didn’t see Onaga kill him. Considering he canonically defeated Blaze, it makes sense that he managed to Kill/Defeat Onaga and return to the pyramid. Given that a few people were still alive when Blaze appeared, the battle could have raged on for hours with heavy hitters like Raiden and Shinnok’s clone
But isn't he dead before Armageddon?

Every Kombatant, mercilessly slaughtered by one another, Raiden incapable of saving his allies, Shao Kahn incapable of caring about his

I’ve always wondered why Mortal Kombat 9 started off like that. But, I know now. I never played Mortal Kombat Deception. The Mortal Kombats I remember playing, are Mk 5, 8, 9, X, and 11. I’m pretty sure 5 is the oldest Mortal Kombat I played.

I love how onaga just flies away with Shoa Kahn, making him drop his hammer, and somehow still manages to get killed by him
Well Shao Kahn had grown much more powerful than when he was just Onaga's advisor and he can just summon the hammer at will like how Raiden can summon his lightening staff.
@@jeremiahcrain7023 no he wasn’t, it was established that Shao Kahn was never able to beat Onaga in a fair fight and Onaga was the only being that Shao Kahn was scared of. The real reason why they have Shao Kahn win during the intro of MK9 was because the writers completely forgot about the story of the original timeline and the fact that Taven was the original winner but decided to create retcons which left more plot holes than before.
@@gabrieltejada1697 "Was" meaning back then or before. Shao Kahn WAS not able to beat Onaga in a fair fight before (When he was advisor) but NOW he can.
You also forget that there really was no where to go after Armageddon if Taven was the winner. When Taven killed Blaze the combatants kept fighting would have inevitably killed each other. It's also not exactly said that Shao Kahn killed Blaze all we see is Shao Kahn with the orangish aura which can just be interpreted as Blazes power being given to the rest of the combatants since Taven won.

It meant Shao Kahn must win since Shao Kahn was breaking the rules earlier by invading earthrealm and by him winning he gets punished by the elder gods. Raiden was trying to explain this to Liu Kang but he wasn't trying to listen at all since a lot of good guy combatants were killed while Raiden was receiving future visions from future Raiden and just made things worse, Liu Kang was already pissed off and thought Raiden was insane

What do you mean? There were a lot of moments some third party intervenes during a 1 on 1. Onaga, shao khan, and shang tsung stand out the most.

But you gotta remember this was before MKX where fatalities really shined, in the past games it was just a brutal finisher, like the brutalities, only until 2015 they decided to spice things up a bit and make them more wacky and bizarre. imo what made this game special was the tag gamemode, wished they brought them back

2. Quin chis broken leg magicly healing itself with no explanation.

4. Barraka and King Lao flying in mid air having a sword fight
5. Shao Khan being flakes away over some mountains (possibly to a Settlement) by Onaga but then because the game needs a plot and someone who can 1v1 Raiden he's magically back.
Technically he killed Onaga. Which is bullshit considering how powerful Onaga is. AND THAT FRICKING SHANG TSUNG WAS CAUSING HIM TROUBLE

#4 Baraka, Kung Lao, and the rest of the roster all evolved overtime given their powers enhancement. The narrator explains how "warriors left u checked can grow to power and to numerous and that would weaken and shatter the realms"
1. Kabal actually tried to use his speed but striker stoped him
2. There's 2 possible explanations: C'mon man, he is the most powerful sorcerer of mortal Kombat, he probably cured himself.
Also, In MK you can get every bone broken but you can still fight.
A couple of things i love about Armageddons intro
1. Johnny cage throws his wife off the pyramid
2. Quan chi gets hisvleg snapped in 2 yet somehow has the strength to climb that far up the pyramid and bend and twist his knee normally while fighting kenshi
3. Everyone stops and stays quiet enough for shang tsung to be able to hear liu kangs chains rattling and are even nice enough to stop climbing all so they can include a liu vs shang match
4. Shao kahn is seen being taken by onaga miles away yet finds away to make it all the way back and win the god-powers.
5. Did some of these people forget they can fly up the pyramid instead of walking through a mob? Not to mention kabal who coudlve litteraly ran up and back in less than 2 seconds

With everyone dead, even Taven failed to stop Blaze, and the dust starting to settle, Raiden escapes the skeleton hands and Shao Khan steers Onaga into crashing into the temple killing the Dragon. Raiden and Shao Khan have a common enemy, Blaze. The two enter a gruesome battle with the monstrous foe until finally he is defeated. But only one can have the powers of Armageddon, so Shao Khan still in a semi-stable condition after the battle, while Raiden is mortally wounded, proceeds to utterly beat the hell out of him. Truly if the next mortal kombat game besides the recent MK 1 reboot game, were to be made. I rather that it’s focused on the original timeline. From MK 1 to Armageddon. No reboot characters or anything of the sort. Even if there’s references to those characters. It’s better to stay its lane.

Imagine if Liu kang were alive, the dude that bodied shang tsung, shao kahn twice and shinnok, dude would’ve made a difference. Perhaps instead of attacking Raiden like you see in the MK11 flashback, he might’ve gotten to Blaze before Shao kahn returned from his battle against Onaga
Things would had different if Liu Kang was alive and wasn’t murdered by Shang Tsung & Quan Chi. Even undead, he was putting up a fight so one could only imagine how Armageddon would have ended.

I think that each alteration brings with it a few changes to established events. For example, in 11, Liu Kang is shown to be FAR more loyal to Raiden than in 9, and he explicitly says that, no matter what, he would never turn against him (which he does in 9 when Raiden reveals the truth about what "He must win" means.

So according to NRS, Liu Kang's corpse managed to kill Shang Tsung, then him and Raiden fought (as seen in MK11 when Raiden saw the previous timelines) until Raiden presumably ended up killing Liu in the same exact spot where he initially was when he killed Shang Tsung lol. I wonder how Liu Kang's spirit (he was present) must've felt witnessing that go down
