I find it's funny how in different games every version of "pull everyone together" ability, it's always most busted "use in a critical moment" ultimates in the game, always to be used in team wipes and have to be used precisely. But In Rivals - just use it. You'll get another one in like a minute. If you bait even a single ult out of it - value made. I even checked, It's 2800 energy which compared to support ults - Luna 4000, Cloak and Dagger 3400, Mantis 3700, Invisible Girl 4000. It is also one of the fastest charging ults in the game probably. Definitelly amongst Vanguards (Venom also 2800).
It might not take as much energy but i feel like unless youre in a big team fight you get your ult slower than a C&D cause you dont gain a ton of ult energy with groot at a range just poking with spore bombs
Idk what you mean. He got 20M range on his poke and good spore give you so much energy. With Groot you want to play at poke range or closer, otherwise there is no point in engaging at all. Both him and Magneto have similar range, where Magneto may want to hang back a little and Groot want to be a bit more in front.
@@doremiancleff1508 Probably just that as Groot you spend a lot of time not shooting due to range or just trying to traverse/look around, whereas C&D and other supports are just constantly spamming either heals or long range damage. So even though the cost is higher, the charge time is usually much quicker for supps than tanks.
I'm sure you already know this, but in case you don't, you can animation cancel Groot's third melee by going into a wall placement animation or by throwing your spore bomb. If you instantly cancel the wall placement you can go right back into attacking. It's a niche use case but sometimes it can make the difference. I am Groot!

I think my issue is trying to drop thorn walls every time before attacking especially with ults. I also try to do walls against a wall or something so they won’t try breaking them ? Maybe that’s a problem?
Good question, its because in my opinion you find a lot more value using it during the fight, Sure 250hp that regens is nice but if can get those shields while using it to block someone off for 5 seconds its much better
@ ig it’s situational because if you’re trying to win the tank brawl that can be useful and you might even be able to find a kill through triple support but if youre going against a dive comp where that won’t work you can just use the sustain. Personally I like to atleast start off the fight with the sustain because it can carry over to the mid fight
@@tobe.moemeka the self sustain only works on yourself so it wouldnt really help against dive, they should be focusing your supports, i only use it for extra hp while playing long ranged angles because my supports/dps will feed it for me anyway
So you can only place 3 of them at once, if you have 2 down itll only do 1 of the cooldowns compared to 2, so it pretty much just gives you double thornlash faster if you pick it up
Because the wall itself has 700 health, it can make getting eliminations super easy thanks to walling off their healing or giving me actual cover in the fight considering its a shortish cooldown anyway
@ ah makes sense I normally just use the thorn walls for that since they attack for you but they do get destroyed quick, so it makes sense to use the big one if you really wanna isolate them. I just love walking around at max health so I try to hide them most of the time

Honestly the best way to deal with Wolverine is to have an invis woman on your team, her whole hit counters him if used properly, as for groot you literally cant do anything other than hope he messes up his dash lol its pretty sad :/
Honestly almost always. The only thing making it hard right now is people are playing wolverine A LOT at the moment, so i switch if I'm just not enjoying the match up. Currently learning some magik and mag for those times!
When you have your thornlash wall out, if you HOLD the build button down and drag to the side, you'll be able to see 2 walls being placed. to go up look straight up and walk into the wall or straight down.
At the moment Invisible woman(she counters wolverine), Storm, any flanker so i can wall off their tanks while they pressure the backline! and tanks i don't really have a preference, sometimes i even like solo tank honestly :)

it’s a shame seeing groot players waste their iron wall to wall someone off. Throw it down in the middle of the enemy team or on the side of a fight and get an extra 300HP

What does recovering a thornlash wall do?
you’re only allowed to place 3 at a time. Recovering I believe lowers your cool down from what it is originally
