- "Ladies and gentlemen, you just can't orchestrate it better than that, but when you're great, you deliver on cue." - Dick Enberg
The final 4 minutes of the 1992 NBA All-Star Game. Magic Johnson buries three straight 3-pointers and closes out the game in truly "Magical" fashion. Sit back and enjoy a stellar, infinitely memorable performance by the greatest point guard the NBA has ever seen.
Still brings tears to my eyes...
You can't help but cry when you watch how Magoc made the last shot and the entire game just STOPPED out of love and respect for this LEGEND OF A PLAYER. There was not one man on that court that wanted to take another shot to ruin the moment for Magic. What class.
Isiah wouldn't mind
I miss my era so much. Magical moments no pun intended. The respect displayed is priceless. Miss those times
That was AWESOME .. saw as kid .. 🔥🍻
Thought I was the only one w
will never forget that game... and those last minutes...
Isiah & Magic had a great moment :)
Jose Paredes Real talk. Forgot how much I liked Magic.
This is the NBA at its best. I had more fun watching the NBA in the late 80s through 2000 and then I do now. The game was just better
Best all star game and ending.
Yes and than ALLSTAR Game 2000 with iverson and marbury against Kobe
I remember watching this game live as a kid and wondering if Magic can still be Magic even though he has HIV.. and my favorite basketball player came out and played lights out. Magic was an artist on the court, the best...
"artist"
Perfect description of Magic, my friend.
The greatest Laker is Andrew Bynum. Facts!
@@2enchant lol no
@@2enchant lmao
@@christopherbrock8913 lol
Still breaks me out in tears.
Such a historic moment. Everyone knew it. They even stopped the game in reverence. That's powerful.
2:26 you could really feel how legendary that moment is
Kevin Baybay the crowd standing to their feet and cheering while the greatest in the game, MJ, went against one of the greatest ever is a goosebump making moment
Lol and they said it was a mismatch smh 🤦🏽♂️
Mr Megatron It was
These were some of the most competitive athletes in sports history.
Still gives chills
Much is written and said about Isiah, but his role in this all star game and the way he made sure everybody was on board with allowing Magic to play is telling.
Agreed. I hate Zeke. But he was a class act in this one (and sadly, his rep killed him. More people should still talk about him. Dude was a beast)
Magic Johnson the greatest basketball player of all time.
Magic Johnson vs. Michael Jordan in a showdown with Dick Enberg calling the 1992 NBA All-Star game. Those were great days.
I miss NBA coverage on NBC.
joesakic91 dedernenadedede
Enberg was the perfect man behind the mic to call that game. Always enjoy hearing him call games regardless of if it was college or NBA. He also called the 1979 National Title Game between Bird and Magic.
@@MusicManSeanB first Super Bowl i watched he was on the mic. the Montana to Taylor for the win. OH MY!
@@markmac2206 I remember that game...Montana going 92 yards on the game winning drive with no timeouts. Bengals heartbreak once again.
I get goosebumps every-time I see Magic hit that last 3-pointer.
Same. I've seen it hundreds of times and it still gives me chills. A true storybook ending if there ever was one.
Magic was the player that got me to watch the NBA. Started watching during the 85-86 season and years later when he announced his retirement because of the HIV virus I broke down in tears. When my dad told me he was going to be in the 1992 all-star game I remember being so excited to see him play again.
Gosh it’s been 30 years since this game and Magic is still alive and going strong! God bless him and those who’ve suffered through HIV. Those of us who were kids then weren’t sure how long Magic would live so for me it’s quite emotional looking back at this moment.
Now just became part owner of the Washington commanders
Magic. The best to ever do it. What a player.
the NBA was so fun and interesting back then, everyone was having fun. Seeing this made me realize how different the game of basketball is now
This performance shows that there will never ever be another... Dan Majerly. Wonderful performance and greatest player of all time
😂😂😂
I was 10 years old and cried like a baby when all this was going on... Basketball was my escape from life and I'll never forget this day.
Amen brother
oh man, still remember it, and I still have a tear in my aye after that shot, pure magic evening and the big moment in NBA history
GREATEST PLAYER OF ALL TIME
After Mike but God give him the Moment at the end he deserve it
This was the perfect way for Magic to go out. I know he played on the Dream Team that summer, and for the Lakers in '96, but THIS was his last hurrah, and it was SO fitting. THAT is how you wanna be remembered if it's your last game. (Which, at the time, he thought it was.)
I remember watching this game live and getting goosebumps. At that time.. Magic Johnson was still the greatest player in the world in my opinion. To come out and just dominate that game like he did.. HIV positive and all.. just a remarkable and brave performance by a remarkable player. I'll never forget it.
Lol he was better than 92 Jordan? Don't be stupid.
*The ending with Isiah and Mike was priceless.*
I was born two years after this all star game, and watching it now, gets me real emotional especially when all the players go and give love to magic...a real beautiful moment in nba history
Even today I cry in emotion.
They just had to just stop the game after that last shot.
The great ones ALWAYS understand the moment.
Lol Jordan wouldn't let him get the ball😂😂😂😂😂 Magic is the greatest
Magic has shared the greatest and the saddest moments in NBA history
But he's still here, and he's still healthy. Not even HIV can stop the Magic
This game showed us the very best of the best in talent and in class, but let us not forget that with all those legends out there on that court, Magic Johnson was and will always be the best player and the classiest of them all.
I remember this epic game. Great Magic Johnson.
doesn't matter how many times i watch this, i still get goosebumps.
The Greatest of all time hands down
Magic Johnson the greatest NBA Player of all times
Was watching Celtics/Lakers 30 for 30 and had to come back to relive this moment again. This and Kobe's final game...you can't write this stuff better than they played out. Magic is taking the Lakers back to the glory days. Championship in 3 years. Lakers are the 2020 world champs!!!
Yep. I was never a huge kobe fan (dont know why), but his last game was hollywood. Good call comparing the two.
when the NBA was still MAGIC
My pleasure. Glad you enjoyed it.
RIP Dick Enberg!
That was the all time best ever all star game, I'm a huge Bird fan but this was so fun to watch. This was when basketball was worth watching although I do enjoy golden state basketball.
No i love MJ but this was the best moment in the NBA history better than T mac' s 13 points in 35 sec
I was a kid when this happened and still to this day this still gives me goosebumps, Magic has always been my favorite player and this just truly showed his greatness
This was the BEST way for Magic Johnson to go out. Like they said "You just can't orchestrate it any better than that."
But he came back
Magic Johnson is really using magic I believe and how beautiful with both his parents there to enjoy the show in person live my Respect
I lived in Sarasota back then, a two hour drive from Orlando. I was 11. I begged my mom and dad to take me to this game. We just didn’t have the money to go. Magic and Michael were my favorites. I would’ve given anything to be there.
we are all standing for Magic - Jordan challenge forever
Thank You Magic! You are the best!
Esto es único Magic dando cátedra a Tomas y Jordan, fue increible ver ese partido en vivo
Could watch this over and over again..
this was tha best n.b.a all star game ever cuz, there were legends playing against each other. this is wat tha real n.b.a should be like and magic is richer and doing better now than before i miss
One fo the 2 greatest players of all time. Magic was clearly one fo the greatest
the best moment in the sport. memorable
Wish allstar games were like this nowadays
Watched it live. Was jumping up and down at the end. Haha
Simply awesome
Golden..Magic is the real Midas..everything he touches turns to Gold
This was my first NBA All Star Game that I saw as a kid. Just great game, despite the point differential, and much love for one of the greatest players to ever play the game.
Brings back great memories. Those that watched this live watched one of the greatest eras in sports. 80s-90s was magical for the sport. I remember watching this game having a hard time understanding how one of the greatest wasn't going to play anymore after seeing that display. He did what he wanted with that ball. Was never a laker fan but loved watching magic play. He's my first pick on my all time team. Our generation was blessed to see his career. NBA sucks now, LeBron, curry, Westbrook, Joel, KD wouldn't have made it back then. Bunch of overpaid bed wetters.
0:14 Isaiah with his classic 2 step move oh yeah if nobody gonna talk about that I am my favorite point guard ever
Dude is underrated
I very vividly remember watching this live on TV and seeing how much controversy and tension there was on account of Magic’s very recent announcement that he had HIV. The big fear was checking Magic too close, gettin’ hit and getting infected because at that time, most of us were still iffy on how it was spread and even how he, himself, contracted it.
As you can see, however, people stepped up at the end, not only to challenge him, but to congratulate him at the end.
It was a very interesting time.
Classic!!! I remember watching this live on my 13 inch tv
The part where jordan sets up to iso...
Also, little history. David Robinson was the first one to approach Magic and shake his hand, before the game..that was when everyone else "relaxed" a bit
I thought it was Thomas and Jordan in the middle of the court with the refs since they were the captains Isaiah even kissed magic
More history: While the first opposing-team player that called Magic after the announcement was likely Bird, the first player in the league that reached out specifically to play alongside Magic was the greatly underrated Rony Seikaly.
NBA on NBC had the best All-Star Game moments
A man amongst kids during his time in the nba!!
Facts
Still got this game taped on VHS. Time flies
He wanted back in so bad. He trained so hard to get back in. He proved he was the best in the world that day.
I remember people watching in amazement. I remember the tears in peoples eyes. Knowing how he was treated, what some said bout him. He didn't deserve it.
I remember the things he did giving back to the L.A. communitee.
"Everybody have a good time, good time"!
- Ervin "Magic" Johnson
That last shot that Magic threw up there was crazy, truly legendary moment
Yo vi este juego en el 92, tenia 15 años, extraño el basket de los 90's
Watched it live, amazing game by the Magic Man
I'm a young dude who watches hardwood classic and I tell people all the time watch magic Johnson people don't know how good he was
One of the most important sporting events in the history of sports
This was such a great moment, players showing they love him and aren’t “afraid” anymore. Was such a great ASG.
"Magic." He is...
Magic being magical in this all star game.
Me too!!! I remember watching this on my 13 inch tv in my room!!!
This was classic. The days when the NBA was fun. I am lucky to tolerate a couple minutes nowadays
thank you ! for posting this video
I remember watching this live. i knew at the time i was watching something special that i would never forget.
Hard to forget a cooler moment in NBA history.
Younger fans wont get it. Times have changed. HIV used to be a death sentence. And Magic/Bird/Jordan were "bigger" than any current guys...before cable, the internet, etc, we all watched the same things.
So when Magic retired, the whole nation was punched in the gut. Like the JFK moment of our generation (pre 9/11)
The ending of this game was storybook. And hasnt aged a bit. Still cool as hell.
The 3s are cool...but that one armed pass through traffic under the basket...classic magic
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Always brings a tear to my eye. Okay fine several tears.
This was storybook shit.
This should have been Magic’s perfect exit. I love how the game just ended; East didn’t bother to run out the clock.
Not a fan of basketball...
But when legends like this play one another--you WATCH! :)
Seriously, if the NBA was like this...
If His Royal Airness was wearing #23 again, and not "King James"...
If a Bird were taking flight once more...
Who wouldn't watch THAT?
And who agrees--the NBA needs just a lot less bickering and a lot more of the MAGIC back?
Just saying--not a fan, but I'd watch that...who wouldn't?
Magic is superstar for superstars in all star game
i miss these legends tha n.b.a will never be tha same witout em, magic johnson, micheal jordan, larry bird, isiah thomas man this how great tha game should be again but. they'll never be guys like these again.
WONDERFUL!
Amazing.
We need this in HD
god damn that was a very great game for magic
Magic is real artist👌
this was in my opinion the greatest un-stigma (if there is such a word, ive ever scene. 1992 AIDS Hysteria well in swing and look at all those guys hugging a sweating Magic Johnson. What a moment for the AIDS epidemic
good stuff here
I think I realize now why Magic was taken out of NBA Jam
This is the best all star
Last Magic invited everyone to the magical world
0:19 i didn’t even see his face because of the pixels but I could immediately tell that that was michael adams just by his jump shot lol
Magic just dropped the mic after his last 3 to end the game
Another Magic Time!
Storybook Ending !!!!!!!!! MY GOAT
Best all star game ever
Pure Classic
What a great ending to Magic's NBA career.
i wish today's all star game are like this
