@@MissRaineTravels Thanks for your response! We probably won't apply until after Nov. 30 because we are not physically there yet. This means we'll still have to pay for December, but otherwise it's OK to apply a bit late, correct?
@JanPBtest Late would be 3 months after your arrival in Switzerland. Best to apply right after you've registered with the city/Gemeinde as some insurance companies require the confirmation of residence from the Gemeinde (Wohnsitzbestätigung)
@@MissRaineTravels Yes, good to know! I'm assuming the Wohnsitzbestätigung is not the actual final residence permit but only a confirmation that we filed the application and started the process? Thank you again for your time.
Anyone in the family can sponsor. Is the sponsor in the Schengen Area? Officially, only one person can sponsor (and his or her wife since in some countries, they need the spouse's signature) Other relatives in the Schengen Area can write an invitation/sponsorship letter. If the sponsors are traveling with you, they can also write an invitation/sponsorship letter
Thank you for the information. So You pay the health insurance by month, not pay for a year when you arrived in Switzerland right?
Yes, it's a monthly payment
So for a married couple, with one Schengen area member: that member can apply for both people? Your video is great BTW!
Yes, that's what we do/did.
Are you changing insurance companies? If yes, remember the deadline is Nov. 30. :)

Yes, the Wohnsitzbestätigung is not the residence permit.
