A correction, the ground clearance of the Honda NX500 is 181mm.
I own this bike and have done 6000kms on it till now and still watching this review ❤
Ground clearance shown in the video was wrong. It is 181mm & not 168mm
At 7.5L onroad, the NX500 is a very poor package. Yes you can argue about its reliability, engineering and badge value, but for what the bike offers at that price Honda is just trying to make money.
It’s not honda it’s our government taxes
@@rikupatra1452 our government taxes also apply to other bikes like KTM 390 Adv and Aprilia RS 400 still they manage to get in an excellent price bracket offering all the features you can ask for..
Honda is actually costly be it the NX500 or Transalp 750 ,Transalp costs around 14.2 lakhs on road in Mumbai...does not even offer quickshifter...
it's taxes bro
Pray to Ola that original janeudhari came to power after election, Then everything will be free along with inheritance taxes @@rikupatra1452
Taxes are there for a reason ..to discourage manufacturers from completely importing units and rather build them here in India and export them to other countries.
This is also to ensure we earn foreign exchange and balance out our trade deficit.
So the next time you say taxes.. it is there to earn revenue for us Indians so as patriots let us support it.
So from when 6lakh Ex-Showroom become affordable????😂😂😂
Shayad uska pagar badha hai 😂
It's CBU unit bike but still the price is low compared to cb500x
Compared with other tourers it's quite affordable. Plus Gariobo ke liya nahi hai ye.
@@RDd188 Himalayan and 390 ADV: What about us?
Thanks for the price, just saw the first 20 sec of the video. Will not see the rest😄
I am glad to see that Honda is finally making efforts to provide the journalists with a long term fleet. Kudos Honda! Thanks Autocar India for this review. This was helpful.
It wasn't part of a long term fleet. We had the motorcycle for less than a week during which we clocked 500kms
@@GavinRodrigues Nonetheles, great review! Thanks.
As much as the internet screams about launching higher cc bikes here in India they are never going to achieve mainstream success because of the duties cgst sgst and what not. Sad state of affairs.
Cb300x at 3-3.2 lakh on road would have made more sense and pulled many first time buyers towards Honda. Honda is always Honda 😅
it's in development with CB 350 engine
@@mg1721 350 is a long stroke engine and doesn't suit adventure tourer, they have 300 CC engine in two different tuning in cb 300r and cb 300f
@@saravanaganesh8748 That 350 is what most people will be happy with if they figure out the gearing. You can barely hit 100 kmph without risking collision with a cycle or cow.
honda should start making 500cc platform in india
Great review Gavin! Glad to see you with Autocar 😁
Thank you!
Another Gavin at Autocar, nice.
Hi Gavin 😅
Us Gavins gotta stick together 😌

@@adarshshivam2096 hello Adarsh :)
Half of the folks commenting here can't even afford a Himalayan or 390adv
😅😅😅😅😮😮
Well said
It would have been really great if the bike cost one lakh less, at this price point, you could get two Himalayas and two 390 adventures and need to tell the cost of accessories are really high. If it is properly speced , then it’s gonna be 10,00,000.
Then go buy it. . . Who's stopping you? It's a CBU unit, of course it costs that much n what's with the comparison with Himalayan and 390ADV, they both aren't even close to this, this bike competes with the likes of TRK502 and the bigger 650cc out there, not single cylinder 390-450cc bikes. . .
Review was great, but at this point if you are taking a dig at the Himalayan 450 maybe a comparo video would have been great.
There were no digs taken in this video
Where is Rishad Mody?
Sleeping
He was doing Transalp review
That I know! I made that comment so that AI knows that we expect Rishad to give two wheeler reviews.
Don't like me already? 🥲
Ur review was good. Good nice voice u got unlike his@@GavinRodrigues
i am interested in road version of 400 adv that hero used in dakar, that is if they ever make one
Welcome Gavin❤🎉.
Thank you
Glad to be here
This 500cc engine is a very old engine the Honda's line up overseas. Mainly available with the A2 or Beginner bikes there...for the lerning purpose...so its easy and forgiving. But its also feels tasteless to the seasoned riders...the old 180 degree cylinder firing order...To the sound lovers also ...it will still sound like Hero Splendor even if you add a custom/ full system exhaust..it sounds like a single Cylinder. Today when 270 degree crank is a norm for the Parellel twins...Honda should make this also with the 270..like TransAlp and Africa...
Funny thing is Bonneville and Interceptor are also following the 270 pattern, forgetting there historical legacy of 360 crank
This one returns 36KMPL that's why they won't change
plzzzzzz review the indian scout lineup 2025
Hi bro can u do a video on Honda rebal 500 😊
Ex-showroom price itself 5.9 lakh it’s too high..
I think it's not worth spending 7L for a Linear powered 500cc twin Cylinder. Better to buy a used Versys 650 at 5L for road trips (it will have all accessories) and a new xpulse worth 1.5L for city and offroad. U still left with 1.5L amount (saved 1L from buying all touring accessories for Nx500 i.e. guards, light, top box ) use that amount for fuel and wear n tear parts.
Countries impose taxes on imports to not compromise on their sovereignty, to increase local employment and to develop domestic R&D capability. As a biking enthusiast, I am more excited about the KTMs, the Royal Enfields, the Aprilias and the Triumphs which are going to come out of India and are going to be affordable for Indians. Honda has just not done enough for the premium segment, in India, unless they are content to sell Activas and Shines, which they anyways do in huge numbers.
7g Activa kab lunch hoga
Does it come with traction control?
Yes it does.
seems like all gavins are grouping up at autocar 🤣😅😂 to take over autocar
😂😂
Honda doesn't appear to be serious about India. Just encashing the 'reliability' tag for decades now. They killed some good products like CB300 with initial premium pricing.
The price is down but no one seems to be interested. The Japanese have a reputation to live upto.
They killed cbr 250 r. That was enough for me to move from them as a bike company
@@gnanasabaapatirg7376 I have one and I can relate to you
No slipper assisted clutch?
It does have slipper assisted clutch.
Great Premium class Bike
In my opinion, it's still expensive. 5 lac ex showroom would be great. Given that KTM 390 ADV and Himalayan around, Honda should be price conscious. Even if it's twin cylinder. Price shouldn't be double. Max 1.5 X. as in most of the countries, Honda NX 500 is only 1.3 X more than 390 Adventure
well 5.3 in thailand. so we can expect similar pricing. 60k less so that they can sell more units and make profit.
@@rv6569 yup.
It returns 36kmpl... It is worth purchasing
@@shahrukhshaikh2737 yes mileage is good. But can can compensate for 2.5 lacs from 390 ADV with just mileage. 25 for 390 ADV vs 35 for NX 500 ?
@@barun9665 I own CB300R for 3yrs. When comparing newly launched 400cc bikes with similar pricing, I understand why Honda demands premium charges.. Its engine refinement and reliability 🙂
An RE Himalayan would be a sensible choice over this any time. It’s half d price, almost half.

Its a premium pricing.
How tall is driver?
About 6 feet
You don't drive a bike you ride a bike
In price conscious Indian market and recently launched RS 457 n Pulsar 400 VFM pricing, it looks overpriced
Honda should manufacture here for VFM or this would also fade away like other Hondas
Or
Honda try launching NX400 with right price n options for standard n featured deluxe models
Great Bike - Overpriced for Indian Market
36kmpl aur kya chahiye😂
Remember the CB500X? first a step price cut, then sudden withdrawal from the market. This time, again the bike has disappeared from the showrooms. They are saying no more deliveries this year. Can't trust Honda, the are just NOT serious about this bike. It IS an awesome bike....But just not woth it. Leaning towards the desi H450 at less than half the cost....and that ain't half the bike, 80% maybe but certainly not half. Good luck selling this , Honda. You've screwed up..again.
I will go for eliminator 450..and i can afford it
Bajaj launch 400cc for 1.85 lacs ex showroom.....
Wait for 5 more years we will get 1000cc for 6 lacs 😂
5 lakh at best
Honda's USP was VALUE-FOR-MONEY. This CBU simply isn't. It's good, but not 7.4 lakhs OTR good.
In my opinion, the new Himalayan 450 makes this bike unnecessarily expensive and only appealing to someone who REALLY love's Honda bikes. I'd trade a cylinder and some of the performance for what the Himmo has to offer at less than half the price.
It's an experience brother. Like xiaomi and apple.
That feather clutch that pull through all rev range, that dual cylinder grunt, with 30kmpl mileage , the chasis it's an experience.
Cylinder trade kar ne alawa bhi bohot differences hai😂
@@saikatdas1139well put together..100 % agreed
Since when has Honda's USP been value for money, they have always been expensive
Honda VFM when ?
Looks are subjective 😂😂. This is far away from good looks

Llong waiting. no answer and communication w.r.t. delivery neither from dealer nor from honda india
No way this is worth 5.9 lakhs

*@ ₹ 7 Lac+ HONDA NX500 is a very poor choice for Indian riders. Though ₹ 4 Lac cheaper, 450 Himalayan is a way better alternative & 'VALUE FOR MONEY' !* 👎🏼👎🏼
I think there's a niche of premium buyers that want the extra refinement and reliability which RE doesn't seem to provide at the moment.
@@GavinRodrigues i 'm a motorcycle collector & own from Yamaha RX 100 to Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R - ain't no "refinement & reliability" worth ₹4.5 Lac premium ! Cut the crap !
@@Navyguy I beg to differ. You're only looking at the initial buy in price and not the low maintenance and quality of service people associate with a Honda. Besides how often do you ride your ZX10r?
