    My favorite thing about my old CB500X was the engine and gas mileage. It was a beast on a tour. I was thinking of gettin a new CB500X but this NX500 is a no-brainer. This after having gone from CB500X to Africa Twin; I'm going back. An outstanding commuter bike, that you can take out for a weekend road (even dirt road) adventure. It appears to be more of a baby TransAlp then a baby Africa Twin. I love the accessory package and would still add a bash-plate and side cases.

    I know you've only just posted and there will be more reviews on this bike but this is the best I've seen so far. Like the double act and like the criteria put up on screen throughout. Taking my full test this year and seriously looking at purchasing in white with the adventure pack extras. You've confirmed a lot of what I thought about it , a good do it all bike with Honda tested reliability. Already subscribed. I'm watching your 'likes' mount up as I type , 88 in 32 minutes. Well done son !

      That´s so interesting for me. I would like to know, why do you mean it? First I thougt the Honda managers/designers went crazy, but it’s not obviously true. There are many people who like this new look. From my point of view, the new head lights, it’s like for kids, good for those plastic small bikes. Actually, it’s the reason for not buying this bike. CB500X looked much better and Transalp looks much much better too, of course. I dont understand NX500. Maybe new generation or more focused on Chinese consumers, I dont know. Compare it with design of Italian bikes or Triumph. NX500 is terribke. Just my opinion.

    Greetings from India! It's a welcome update to a proven bike for its target market, so may sound like an ad indeed, but overall a nice summary. My two cents about the updated switchgear -
    the joystick like backlit switchgear pairs well with Honda Roadsync app, and simply transforms your connectivity experience while riding.
    I have been using this combination on their CB350 series launched in India, for the past 3 years, and I don't want to go back to a motorbike that doesn't have it! Not having to lift your arm to reach intercom mounted on your helmet, when cruising at 100km/hr or more, is a big relief.
    The app is thoughtfully designed, controlled using the joystick or even voice and allows to pick or dial call, dictate or send preset texts, switch on/off music, start navigation by picking from set favourite destinations etc. Really helpful when touring long distances.

      Honestly, no. I feel like I'm wasting my money if I have cheap plastic factory handguards and go about replacing them with barkbusters, better off keeping the initial price as low as possible and let the buyer decide what extra parts to get rather than force them on everyone. Same with skidplates, factory ones are mostly no good for the job and you end up replacing them anyway. Better off if Honda keeps the standard price down by say $200 instead of throwing useless extras on. 12v plug should come stock though.

    Honda just needs to put the Transalp engine in this style of bike with cast rims and tubeless tyres, throw in cruise control and the thing will outsell everything on the market.
    The big 'adventure' bikes are just too heavy and thirsty.
    For real world motorcyclists what we need is a mid sized do it all bike, Suzuki have it now with the Vstrom 800re,haven't tried one yet but I'm hoping Honda step up before I make the change from my DL650.
    this is an open goal for Honda, they have to produce an NX750 now.

    Also like the look, but i even think in the other direction. Give it a single with around 40HP but assuming bike weights even 20kg less! THEN TAKE MY MONEY :D
    PS: very nice condensed review!

    I have a 2020 500X which looks great, but the updated front end looks horrible! Very square and boxy compared to the sculpted look of the previous model.

    This really came across as a promo vid. If Honda are not paying you ... they should be !.

    I bought one last Saturday. The white color model is sold like hotcakes. It is sold out in many countries. The next batch is in September. My initial thoughts: it is a Honda what else? Pros and cons are in your mind and how many hours have you been influenced on RUclips 😂. Though, who compare CFMOTO with Honda, i guess that those folks have never seen any of them or they had never had a honda product in their ownership. If you don't know, I cana tell you right now. It is expensive, it is ugly, it uses mostly OEM parts but each time you uses it, it gives you a deep feeling of satisfaction, almost a smile on your face and that you weren't ripped off by a marketing scam, and you wouldn't mind to pay even more for what you got. Not many products can give such genuine satisfaction.

    • @sameerkharade7750
      @sameerkharade7750 9 месяцев назад +1

      I test drove this bike a week or two ago and the cons imo are as follows
      - slightly underpowered
      - strong midrange but the low and top end leave a lot to desire
      -non-adjustable suspension (factory settings are stiff)

    Other than the TFT, this doesn't strike me as a noticeable improvement to the 2022/2023 CB500X. Wind protection is likely worse, with that smaller windshield. The adventure pack is too expensive, there are better aftermarket alternatives for less. Disappointing that Honda didn't take this platform to true ADV status, which they could have done with more ground clearance and a better rear shock.

    • @1966johnnywayne
      @1966johnnywayne 9 месяцев назад

      Everybody wants more ground clearance, but Honda knows how many riders they loose for every inch of increase in seat height...if you can barely tip toe the bike in the showroom, most riders will choose something else.

    • @karoslif9818
      @karoslif9818 9 месяцев назад +1

      And also, the 2022-2023 had a adjustable windshield which honda decided to leave out on this model.

    the chinese are now making this type of bike fully laden with accessories for the base price of this Honda. Some people will always rather pay extra for the Honda brand, but there's nothing on this that stands out.

  • @twowheelpilot

    Call that an adventure bike? Honda better start looking at the CF MOTO 450MT
