      Thank you very much 😎. I really miss the Android OS. Everything about Android Automotive is so intuitive and integrated that I did not need my cell phone the entire week I had the car! I also miss some of the features mentioned in my in-depth review, like the auto-unlock door handles, no need for a button to power on/off the car, the full one pedal driving experience, and the power... I love my Niro EV, but I miss the P2 😉

    I'm sure we'll se more apps in playstore soon. Google is making it easier for 3rd party developers to make apps for both android automotive and auto 👍 also, more cars with AAOS are being released. More users means more data, more bugfixing more apps 😁 can't wait to get my Polestar in november!

    charging at 95% is not a bug, just as cell phones have battery protection protocols also some electric cars, this is because the consumer usually leaves the cell phone connected and the battery drops from 100% to 99.99% again to 100% in a way constant so there is a system that blocks the battery to protect it

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  Год назад

      I think you misunderstood what I was talking about. The Polestar 2 allows you to charge to 100% capacity and the software bug stopped the charge at 95% even though I had selected 100%. It never reached 100%. Also, for context, I own a Kia EV6, I have been an EV owner for over 3 years with my previous one being the Niro EV, my wife also has an EV for over 3 years now, and I know how the charging system works on electric cars 😎

    • @EV-olution

      Pas besoin d'Android Auto, le OS de la voiture est Android Automotive intégré au complet avec 100% des fonctions, et plus qu'Android Auto. Le cellulaire Android synchronize les contacts, historique d'appels, etc, par Bluetooth. Pour la semaine que j'ai eu, et conduit la voiture, je n'ai pas touché à mon cellulaire une fois car tout est déjà dans l'auto 😎. Pour CarPlay il semble que ça va venir mais c'est Google qui décide.

    I'm an Android phone user, but I absolutely hate Android Auto. Google really dropped the ball on this and looking at Apple Carplay and how it works in my Kia Soul EV, I can see that Android Auto is years behind. This is why I find Android Automotive so compelling. I hope other manufacturers will adopt the tech and that Google keeps improving it (something they don't consistently do with Android Auto). Thanks for the detailed review.
    Quick question: does Google Maps on the Polestar 2 include route planning in Canada? I believe they have this feature in Europe.

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  2 года назад +2

      Thank you very much, and yes, Google Maps in the Polestar 2 is very complete. I did not go over it in the video because it is pretty much like Google Navigate from your cell phone, but it is better because it integrates with the car's state of charge. I used the integrated system the entire week I had the car and never touched my phone, it was excellent.

    • @LeftCoastEV
      @LeftCoastEV 2 года назад +1

      @@EV-olution That is excellent news. One of the features on the Tesla cars that makes it easier for new EV owners to get used to driving an EV is the route planner, especially on extended trips making sure you know where and when to charge. Good to hear that a similar system is available in Canada on the Polestar 2. Now Google needs to sign contracts with other EV manufacturers and integrate this system into other cars, would love to see it on my Kia.

    Good grief, Andre! After all that programming, I'll be too tired to drive. I don't need all that Yuppie-techno-gizmo stuff that adds to the price of the car, and then drains your bank account when it needs to be repaired. No doubt Volvo has come out with a nice car, but for me, I want electric propulsion with the simplicity of a '98 Escort. All the same, its another great video, thanks!

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  2 года назад +3

      You don't really need to adjust, or program anything, you can just drive it like a normal car if you like. The Polestar 2, like my Niro EV, has tons of menus and things you can adjust, but a non tech person can simply get in and go with out ever worrying about any of the menus. This video is for nerds like me who like to know all of the details 😎

    • @sweetbon76

      I agree with Andre, I rented the Polestar 2 this summer and it's just to step in, press the brake pedal and put the gear to drive and go. It's easier than the Renault Zoe I drive now.

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  2 года назад +2

      The app for the Polestar 2 is not ready yet and is the reason that Polestar does not talk about it, so you can't expect much from it. As for bugs, yes, there are bugs because Android Automotive is a very young OS, but it is being updated regularly. It is a great OS and will only improve over time. With that being said, the "issues" I experienced are minor and did nothing to take away from the excellent experience I had with the car.

    • @artemzhdanov7119
      @artemzhdanov7119 2 года назад +1

      The app is a beta version, i have mine since june and it much better now . Polestar 2 was the first car with Android Automotive and it s take time to fix everything , they start from scratch for the app instead use old volvo technology. With all other car manufacturers who turn to Android automative it will be just nicer in future , thanks to OTA . The little software bugs what's happened occasionally are not enough to not enjoy the car because for the rest it s a really great car.
