Sign me up! However, driving by myself I dont mind having the cupholder where it is. I often rest my arm on the left side of the center console, which is not too bad when you get used to it. I want to buy the cupholder for my passenger.
I’ve seen these posted on a forum previously, the designer has done a great job, my solution to sun glass storage was to buy the Volvo sun glass holder and replace the handle over the driver door, works a treat
In the market now and looking at this. Storage is an issue but fwiw I think it’s far and away one of the best looking consoles/interiors in the EV space. I’d prefer more physical buttons too but again, I think they pull off the aesthetic better than most. Love the cockpit feel, love the materials, screen placement is reasonable. Gets an A from me on aesthetics/feel.
The reason for the poor storage and high console is almost certainly that all of that space is used for battery/technical space. Looking at the XC40, which I'm guessing has the same limitations, it looks like the problem has been solved in a better way there, by moving the selector control to the side and placing the cup holders alongside it, instead of behind and into the armrest. I'd almost be tempted to replace the Polestar console with one from Volvo, except that the volume knob/hazard and demister controls would also need to be moved/re-housed, which is not practical for DIY. It would be great if Polestar could completely redesign the solution, bringing it closer to the Volvo approach.
I would buy all of these, also there is a pocket on the side of the console, I’d love to have a cover to hide the contents. Living in a city any way to not display contents in the car is a plus for theft deterrence. I even a cover option for the center console chargers would be plus.
Wow-excellent video, Kris, and I’m so glad that someone out there came up with this idea! That sure solves a lot of problems. We can only hope that when it’s time to update the Polestar 2 in a few years (assuming they do a mid-cycle refresh), the designers will revisit their questionable center-console layout and come up with something better. In the meantime, ingenuity wins! 😀
Is there any rumour out of Volvo/Polestar that they will redesign the centre console? Would hate to get one and then they radically change up and address the issue.
This reminds me of the German cars when they refused to install proper or ant cup holders. I really don’t like the battery pack going up the center tunnel, because it completely takes away the open feeling that you get in an EV. I think that it’s platform sharing that would enable a petrol engine, transmission and driveshaft to fit down that huge tunnel. I haven’t seen a design like this since the Chevrolet Volt / Opel Astra (I think).
You don't like the quite large compartments on each side of the console? Outside, close to your right lower leg, and also on the passenger side...? Sunglasses (and more) fit very nicely there. Cup holder was nice, though.
Kris, I own a 2022 PS2, with the same colors in/out, how do I purchase the cup holder set? Unfortunately, I do not own a 3D printer. Thx for the video.
I actually don’t have a problem with the original cup holder and I also like the Center console it kind of feels safe. But that 3d printer stuff is pretty genius all the same .
I don't have my Polestar yet, but when I test drove I didn't see the storage as an issue. I don't store much in the car though - phone, keys, wallet, sunglasses and some usb cables. Plenty of room for this with the storage compartments. Agree 100% on the cupholder though
What is this cup holder fixation all about? Everyone has missed the point. This is a VERY cool car and so naturally the cupholders are designed for Espresso Ristretto, obsv.......
When I was considering buying a Polestar 2 in December, I couldn't believe how UTTERLY STUPID the cup holders were. There should also be 2 wireless phone chargers, side by side, and put the tiny USB ports somewhere else. It seems like the cup holders were added as an afterthought, instead of doing a redesign. The person who designed that should go back to school and the person who approved it...well, I don't know. I bought a 2021 Tesla M3 LR. Problem solved :-). No, it wasn't the only reason, obviously. I love the Polestar 2, but it has a lot of refining to do yet. Heat pump would be a big one.
Sign me up. Jeg hadde kjøpt både koppholderen og hyllene. Ser ut som de du har er printet i den lys grå fargen. Håper man kan lage en mørkere for å passe inn i min bil med det mørke interiøret.
Geez how much stuff do you need to carry inside the car?!?! I only have masks, a microfiber towel, tissues, and USB cables. It doesn't have door bins?? It doesn't have a overhead sunglass storage?? What about the storage on the sides of the center?? Wow those locations u used for that Pepsi can is just DUMB!! LOL!!!!
polestar 2 would be EV of my choice if i would be buying/have money on EV... but what we can see in this video is a result of looks over practicality. there is no reason to have that central tunnel so huge and without almost zero storage.... yeah, there are batteries, but not higher than ankles of the passangers. there could be a big space behind the tablet, make shifter smaller, relocate it, etc etc... there is literally space for one cup holder between the shifter and actual cup holder.... and delete that gloss black BS around shifter and on the steering wheel buttons(would matte black from volvo xc model fits instead of them?)
I've had several vehicles that had bad drink-holder accommodations up front, which is why I always pull down the back seat armrest and used those cup holders instead. I've grown so accustom to doing this, I get annoyed when there are drinks in the front, and default to the rear ones which are easy to reach. Of course, if you have a full compliment of passengers, then the cup holder(s) up front serve as an overflow for a limited stint of inconvenience, but 99% of the time, it's just me in the car, so it's fine! I do like having bottle holders in the door pockets, so that would have been nice, but overall it's been a non-issue. Also, apparently many Europeans think Americans are weird for needing drink holders, as in their minds, driving is an activity in itself. I'm not saying I necessarily agree with this, but that seems to be their common thinking.
Give this comment a like and comment “I would buy one” if you would actually buy a finished cup holder 😊 This way we can gauge the actual demand!
I would buy one!
Now Kris you have to buy a polestar!
I would actually buy one. Thanks Kris
I would buy one!
I would buy one

If (when) I get a Polestar 2 I will be getting these accesories.............well done to the guy who came up with these.

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313402632272
That was the product I purchased
You forgot the two spaces on the sides of the middle area. There is a lot of space for sunglasses and facemasks. :-)
The cup holder is not too bad.
Now that we have solved this huge problem, let us tackle world hunger. Btw, i'm getting my PS2 in 3 weeks.
Haha 🤣🤣

So Kris, this post has been up for a while now. Is there a place yet to buy the cup-holder? I would buy one instantly.

Bring it on!
Possible yo buy the shelves somewhere yet?
I definitely would buy a cup holder and a shelf for my polestar 2 here in the US; thanks!!!
great idea would buy the shelves and pair of cup holders when and if available
Thanks. I'd go for the cup holder for my P2...
I would buy all of these, also there is a pocket on the side of the console, I’d love to have a cover to hide the contents. Living in a city any way to not display contents in the car is a plus for theft deterrence. I even a cover option for the center console chargers would be plus.
I’d definitely buy both of these!
I would certainly purchase all 3 items, thank you.
I’m interested in the final product 🖐
Is this available? The link provided only shows how to 3D print. Thank you
What exactly do you need to store in the car?!? The registration and manual..what else do you want ??
Sunglasses, bags, wallets, clean whiles, dry wipes, a bottle of two of water etc. somebody obviously hasn’t been on a road trip with kids 😅
That is cool , I just reviewed the polestar - - I thought the cup situation was odd!
I would buy the cup holder for sure.. how do I get one?

Love the doubleshelf and cupholder. How can I buy them?
Not going to get a 3D printer to do this. Anyplace it can be purchased?
Really great vid man ! Keep it up !
Mucho Gracias Mi Amigo!
Is there any rumour out of Volvo/Polestar that they will redesign the centre console? Would hate to get one and then they radically change up and address the issue.
I would buy one. the set that is shelves and especially the cup/waterbottle holder.
Wow, makes the Polestar 50 % better instantly. 😁
Exactly!
Please. If a cup holder makes any car 50% better, might consider not driving. Really.
Hi Kris,
What's about having a bottle there with the passenger airbag flying off in worst case??? Is it not in the way?
In a crash everything can happen, but I'd wager a guess the airbag sits higher, and that it would just push this cup holder down into the foot well.

How about the Airbag ?
What are they made of? I’m here in south Florida and the sun gets things really hot in summer. Any risk of melting? I’m definitely interested though.
Where can I buy the shelf and the cup holder thanks!
Can I buy a finish cupholder yet?
Is there a place I can buy the cup holders and not the 3D print? I don’t have a 3D printer. Thank you!
is the arm-rest not able to go up like on most cars, just back and forward?
You don't like the quite large compartments on each side of the console? Outside, close to your right lower leg, and also on the passenger side...? Sunglasses (and more) fit very nicely there. Cup holder was nice, though.
Perfect Solution Kris! I would buy all of them👍
Are these products available? I would purchase all of these
Kris, I own a 2022 PS2, with the same colors in/out, how do I purchase the cup holder set? Unfortunately, I do not own a 3D printer. Thx for the video.
The cup holder is great. Well worth getting
I would definitely buy one ... the whole pack actually :)
Wow that solution was great! :)
I would like all the storage options please 😀
If available I would like to buy shelfs and cup holder.
Surely Ikea has a practical solution for the lack of central storage?
I’m in the UK have a black interior please let me know if I can order a cup holder and the 2 split console space savers please?
I’d like to purchase a set of storage boxes and two cup holders thanks
Dette hadde jeg kjøpt!
Yes please partner i want those finished pieces.
I actually don’t have a problem with the original cup holder and I also like the Center console it kind of feels safe. But that 3d printer stuff is pretty genius all the same .
same here
I cannot find the link to buy the 3D printer files? Anybody have it?
I´d buy that cupholder, for sure!
Hi, following all your videos and insights to the Polestar (ours arriving in June 2022), I'd definitely buy a cup holder! Best, M.
I would like a smartphone holder next to the tablet since Waze is still not available.
I would absolutely buy one. Are they available yet?
I am interested in these products
Would certainly buy the cup holder (if reasonable priced)
OMG, I should choose this interior package,it is so good to make PS2 from a toy to a real car!
Siberia is watching you :) 🤳🙏
Great solutions, but it would have been good if the cup holder was a few centimeters higher, considering the bottles.
I don't have my Polestar yet, but when I test drove I didn't see the storage as an issue. I don't store much in the car though - phone, keys, wallet, sunglasses and some usb cables. Plenty of room for this with the storage compartments. Agree 100% on the cupholder though
Great video 👍 I would buy one 🙂
I would definitely buy one!
I'm in Canada where you can't even buy a Polestar, but I do think it's really cool and I hope that it sells.
There are polestar spaces in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver with more to come.
@@seanderasp8653 I stand corrected, thanks!
thank you kris, another great video !
i would buy one (shelf and cup holder, but do you ship in canada ?
Kjøper gjerne dette
Not too much of an issue if you have a no food and drink policy for your car. I like the little shelves though.
Absolutely, the Polestar 2 center consol is just beyond stupid!
I would certainly buy a set
Can I purchase these items?
Would like to buy all three items
Great video 😃👍. I would buy one😃.
I would want one too!
Hi! I would definitely buy it. Very nice improvement of the interior! 👌🏻👏🏼
What is this cup holder fixation all about?
Everyone has missed the point.

Jeg vil veldig gjerne kjøpe koppholder 🙌

Super , like to get it from your shop Pls :-)))

I don't have a 3D printer. Please sell the cupholder on your site.
Anyway I can buy the cup holder, shelf from anybody... I don't have a 3d printer.... Thanks
I would buy one!!
I would like to buy!
I want to buy one!
“I would buy one” and also the storage tray. Tell me where to pay.
For me, the lack of storage is a big +. No rubbish....
I would buy one.
Don't drink and drive!
That solves everything 💡
The sides of that centre console seem to cut off the bottom of the screen. Most odd decision by Volvo, sorry Polestar.
Kilo- metre as in kilo-watt!
Pass på pianolakken, Kris :D
I don't get what people would want with a cupholder in a car thats so nice it deserves a no food and drink policy.
I would buy one
I like to order these items
If you sell them I will buy them!
polestar 2 would be EV of my choice if i would be buying/have money on EV... but what we can see in this video is a result of looks over practicality.
