Sweet vid! Curious if there was a specific reason as to why the original cover was made with just black plastic?

Thanks Ilan. I'm not sure why they made the decision to just make it black plastic. The interior of the car is very considered with some really nice material choices. Perhaps they just thought most people would use the app and so they cut costs on the key.

It’s a thing people complain about even internally at polestar. I guess you would have to ask the design team for a definite answer, but my guesses are that:
1. They do not use any animal products, while the original Volvo key fob is in leather (at least for the premium models)
2. They wanted to differentiate themselves from Volvo. They are a bit quirky in that sense, but still could not make much changes to the cover since it would not fit the internals of the Volvo key fob, thus the boxy design.

I have a Polestar and I honestly don't know what all the fuss is about the key fob. It never leaves my pocket and why would I care what it looked like anyway? Is anyone in the world actually impressed by what someone's key fob looks like? Does anyone sit and stare at the key fob admiring its beauty? It all seems very weird to me.
