One of my favorite reasons I watch your channel is your in depth knowledge of cultural history in Hindu mythology. (This is something I would like for you to elaborate on more frequently .) I like it how you are like a detective and pointed out that the statue could be Ravana himself. What I came to realize is how much of the mythical reptilian figures are to be found in almost the entire globe. From Anglo Saxon Knights fighting dragons to the Quetzal Qatal in the Americas, this is the constant of our ancient past. However the stone paws are the smoking gun to something much deeper than we realize. Those are clearly NOT lion paws. It would be naive to assume that a culture with the ability to create sophisticated and mathematically complex structures make the mistake on forgetting to add a toe on each paw. It is safe to speculate that they are indeed reptilian due to the extensive amount of references found in Hindu mythology. How many carvings on ancient temples and megaliths are found that depict long extinct prehistoric animals? Wasn't there a stegosaurus found in one of your videos? I think you should make a video on Reptilian OPA's. Keep up the good work my friend. ALSO!! Why is there bricks around the structure? Was that a restoration project? Appreciate your interest, however, its our "Hindu History" and not mythology. Atleast with hard facts of temples and fossil artefacts which correlate with the scriptures. The same is also shown many a times in this channel. The terminology needs to be corrected first.

Calling it history requires a substantial amount of evidence especially when you are talking about a deity In which its skin is blue about or talking about an army of weaponized monkeys. You could see why people gravitate towards calling it mythology. I speculate however that there is a lot of truth in ancient Hindu texts. One could argue that they are speaking in metaphors though I must confess that I also perceive them as literal but I won’t call it history for lack of empirical evidence. One little point though, .... the feet of the statue show the pinkie toe on the outside of the foot, whilst the Dinosoar image, had the pinkie toe on the "inside" of the foot. Clearly they are some kind of lizard feet, with the small toe on the outside. Lions claws wouldn't protrude. If someone said, its dragons feet, Id believe them!
Brilliant video! So glad you've covered this. I went there a few years ago and it's an absolutely amazing site. When I was at the halfway platform, I remember being in awe of those 'lion paws' - they're huge and incredibly detailed.
I doubt if it is Ravana's feet. However the place (Sigiriya) could actually hint to us at VYAGRAPADHA (the saint with tiger feet) and ADISESHA, two of the greatest devotees of Lord Shiva. IMHO. Great video as usual. Thank you!

I have lived and explored this area for a long time, we bought land around this as we are mesmerized by this place. From talking to people, old monks, reading different history books and personal explorations, I definitely agree king kashyapa had no chance of building something this incredible in 15years. This construction would have taken much longer than 15years. I was told by several village elders that these are dragon/bird or reptile feet of Ravans flying reptile.

All sri lankan and even the indonesian lion statues only have four toes, its a common depiction in asia, even in chinese murals and such, their dragons were closely inspired by cats in some way aswell.
Artist license is always a problem when observing art. Attention to detail is subtle. The thing I noticed was the bevel of the nails ,more indicative of a running animal not hooked like a grabbing animal

But I do agree with you that the lions gate doesn't refer to lions' paws because there are different definitions about that. I wonder, if someone would let his statue carved at the gates of his house. No way it was Ravanas statue at the gates. Could be a national bird/animal of mayanagari Lanka. Also CEYLON officially became Srilanka in 70s and was known as Simhala desh as per ancient texts. Now if u check geographical features, it was a part of mainland india centuries ago while Ravanas Lanka and simhala dweepa were one of the 8 islands that surrounded Bharath. I think we should stop using English words for the beings in Ancient texts to properly understand who those beings were. Because the word 'Demon' doesn't give us the proper definition of those beings. We should know the right word and what each word describes about those beings. We could misclassify two different kinds of beings into one calling them 'demons', just because they are unknown to us. We should understand the name of a being and the properties and features ascribed to that particular being from the Ancient texts. That way we can get a clearer picture.

Very interesting Place. The thing is after watching that video i do have the strong feeling that the rock do have a secret cave system. By looking at the claws - i do see something that is similar to acient american sites. You do have different type of struktured Stone work that older ancient part is not build by bricks. So if i want to cover the antrance or cave System - i would create something like that around the Claws. The structure doesnt make any sense and if you do watch carefully to pictures in the internet you will see openings that are not able to the public. But the real stuff that stand out is - is looks like a erosion of a huge monument that show a Snake surrounding that animal with the claws. There are brickstone structures all over the place sometimes with "doorways" - to me it looks like those bricks do cover the real thing. Like: we dont want to let anybody see what is there so we build brikstones and change the look of the stage. Like overdrawing the entrance. On some Fotos you will find evidence of at least 2 different stone Building Blocks. NONE is like that the claws are. So if i have to set a bet - i would bet that the WHOLE Place was a giant Sculpure destroyed over perhaps 7k-12k Years ago. Before the great flood. Perhaps ice water and erosion let it broke down. But the Claws were save under the ground. Then the forgotten and lost was recoverd but not understand. So the lokals do their primitive work to save what was holy to them by building up the brickstone Structure. I believe that it could be an entrance to a cave system. Or something like that. Some one sould do research to it. And if there are bats in that region they could be the guides to the entrance of the cave system. That leads to the inner Strukture. Just think - what could do better hide an entrance than a brickstone figure. That is sleeping. If you wath to the pool section on top - it looks like erotion and dirt has closed thone kind of entrance to. There are Steps that go lost unter the dirt. What is there? Has anyone ever dig out that carefully to see how deep it goes? Becourse if i want to have a secret cave no one should enter - i will place the entrance on top of a strukture that is very hard to climb. And i would just fill up with dirt like a seal. So some Brickstones over it and do some other stuff and say that is a holy place.

I am absolutely with you! All these others are trying to understand or describe Sigiriya per their current ignorant sort of knowledge, or biases. Sigiriya should be studied with references and attention to ancient histories and mysteries that today’s logic cannot fathom. This is Ravana’s palace, later used by Buddhist monks and Kashyappa.

One of my favorite reasons I watch your channel is your in depth knowledge of cultural history in Hindu mythology. (This is something I would like for you to elaborate on more frequently .) I like it how you are like a detective and pointed out that the statue could be Ravana himself. What I came to realize is how much of the mythical reptilian figures are to be found in almost the entire globe. From Anglo Saxon Knights fighting dragons to the Quetzal Qatal in the Americas, this is the constant of our ancient past. However the stone paws are the smoking gun to something much deeper than we realize. Those are clearly NOT lion paws. It would be naive to assume that a culture with the ability to create sophisticated and mathematically complex structures make the mistake on forgetting to add a toe on each paw. It is safe to speculate that they are indeed reptilian due to the extensive amount of references found in Hindu mythology. How many carvings on ancient temples and megaliths are found that depict long extinct prehistoric animals? Wasn't there a stegosaurus found in one of your videos? I think you should make a video on Reptilian OPA's. Keep up the good work my friend.
ALSO!! Why is there bricks around the structure? Was that a restoration project? I am curious to see what was behind it. I am curious to see what the whole thing looked liked untampered with.
Appreciate your interest, however, its our "Hindu History" and not mythology. Atleast with hard facts of temples and fossil artefacts which correlate with the scriptures. The same is also shown many a times in this channel. The terminology needs to be corrected first.

Calling it history requires a substantial amount of evidence especially when you are talking about a deity In which its skin is blue about or talking about an army of weaponized monkeys. You could see why people gravitate towards calling it mythology. I speculate however that there is a lot of truth in ancient Hindu texts. One could argue that they are speaking in metaphors though I must confess that I also perceive them as literal but I won’t call it history for lack of empirical evidence. Praveen seems to be well versed in the ancient text. If anyone could sniff out true history it would be him.

About this video, if you remember the Assyrian-Babylonian goddess "Ishtar", you'll see she also has paws and three toes if i'm right. Now, there must be a real history about intelligent reptiles in the universe and also on earth whether pacifist or warlike. I've learned more from you than from school. These things are more interesting than history.
I have lived and explored this area for a long time, we bought land around this as we are mesmerized by this place. From talking to people, old monks, reading different history books and personal explorations, I definitely agree king kashyapa had no chance of building something this incredible in 15years. This construction would have taken much longer than 15years. I was told by several village elders that these are dragon/bird or reptile feet of Ravans flying reptile.

All sri lankan and even the indonesian lion statues only have four toes, its a common depiction in asia, even in chinese murals and such, their dragons were closely inspired by cats in some way aswell.
Artist license is always a problem when observing art. Attention to detail is subtle. The thing I noticed was the bevel of the nails ,more indicative of a running animal not hooked like a grabbing animal

Mr Praveen, Ravana's mother was not of the naga tribe, therefore he is not a reptile. But I do agree with you that the lions gate doesn't refer to lions' paws because there are different definitions about that. Don't just put videos about our history without discussing it with an official in that field or investigating about it.

Now if u check geographical features, it was a part of mainland india centuries ago while Ravanas Lanka and simhala dweepa were one of the 8 islands that surrounded Bharath. Surya sidhanta mentions Lanka to be 23 degrees from Ujjain and it is said , hanuman traveled 100 yojanas around 1300kms from Mahendra parvat. While CEYLON is hardly 200kms from India. Something doesn't add up.

I think we should stop using English words for the beings in Ancient texts to properly understand who those beings were. Because the word 'Demon' doesn't give us the proper definition of those beings. We should know the right word and what each word describes about those beings. We could misclassify two different kinds of beings into one calling them 'demons', just because they are unknown to us. We should understand the name of a being and the properties and features ascribed to that particular being from the Ancient texts. That way we can get a clearer picture.

Very interesting Place. The thing is after watching that video i do have the strong feeling that the rock do have a secret cave system. By looking at the claws - i do see something that is similar to acient american sites. You do have different type of struktured Stone work that older ancient part is not build by bricks. So if i want to cover the antrance or cave System - i would create something like that around the Claws. The structure doesnt make any sense and if you do watch carefully to pictures in the internet you will see openings that are not able to the public. But the real stuff that stand out is - is looks like a erosion of a huge monument that show a Snake surrounding that animal with the claws. There are brickstone structures all over the place sometimes with "doorways" - to me it looks like those bricks do cover the real thing. Like: we dont want to let anybody see what is there so we build brikstones and change the look of the stage. Like overdrawing the entrance. On some Fotos you will find evidence of at least 2 different stone Building Blocks. NONE is like that the claws are. So if i have to set a bet - i would bet that the WHOLE Place was a giant Sculpure destroyed over perhaps 7k-12k Years ago. Before the great flood. Perhaps ice water and erosion let it broke down. But the Claws were save under the ground. Then the forgotten and lost was recoverd but not understand. So the lokals do their primitive work to save what was holy to them by building up the brickstone Structure. I believe that it could be an entrance to a cave system. Or something like that. Some one sould do research to it. And if there are bats in that region they could be the guides to the entrance of the cave system. That leads to the inner Strukture. Just think - what could do better hide an entrance than a brickstone figure. That is sleeping. If you wath to the pool section on top - it looks like erotion and dirt has closed thone kind of entrance to. There are Steps that go lost unter the dirt. What is there? Has anyone ever dig out that carefully to see how deep it goes? Becourse if i want to have a secret cave no one should enter - i will place the entrance on top of a strukture that is very hard to climb. And i would just fill up with dirt like a seal. So some Brickstones over it and do some other stuff and say that is a holy place.
Alot of what you said makes sense. Without proper evaluation it's hard to say. Plus so many so called archeologists and academics hide and disinform and flat out lie to the public about everything. Also, dude use auto correct for spellings. 🤣

I am absolutely with you! All these others are trying to understand or describe Sigiriya per their current ignorant sort of knowledge, or biases. Sigiriya should be studied with references and attention to ancient histories and mysteries that today’s logic cannot fathom. This is Ravana’s palace, later used by Buddhist monks and Kashyappa.
