If ram sethu is not the one near rameswaram, then where ram worshiped shiv before crossing for Lanka? Makes no sense that he worshipped shivji at rameswaram and walk all the way to kanyakumari and build a sethu for 100s of kilometers in open sea. I don't think so. If current Sri lanka was refered as sinhala dweep and not Lanka, may be it was close to Srilanka as an island. May be a tiny island which is now submerged.
This hypothesis can be totally wrong. If Srilanka is not actual ravan's lanka, it will defeat the several myths and legenda surrounding the temple nomenclature in Tamil Nadu. For example , the 'Ramar paadham - Rama's foot' in Kodikkarai , TN - Intitally Ram thought, this is the best place to cross to Srilanka, before going to Dhanush Koti. The several temples near rameshwaram - which talks about Ram's legend. All will go for a toss , if Srilanka is actually not Ravana's lanka. Even from a geological point of view ,the presence of Coral reefs and floating rocks will further defeat the argument.

Sri Lanka was called Lanka in Sinhalese before 1972 and the prefix *Sri* was given to Lanka only in 1972 following the party name of then ruling party, which was called "Sri Lanka Freedom Party".

Sri Lanka was part of South India during Tetra Yuga. Nobody needed to build a bridge to go to that place. Ram Setu was formed by tectonic movements and sea levels changes during the last deglaciation period.

I think this refers to SiwHelaDweepa not SinhalaDweepa. Siw (means 04) hela Dweepa consists of Jabu dweepa, Lanka dweepa, Kuru dweepa and Giri dweepa. Lanka Dweepa was located in east of Sri Lanka.
Present Srilanka can’t be Ravana’s Lanka. When Vanaras were debating who can cross the ocean to reach Lanka the distance mentioned was 100 yojanas. One yojana is 8 miles. This means present Srilanka is not Ravana’s Lanka as the distance from Rameshvaram (close to which is the Gandhamadana mountain from which Hanuman Ji leaped to reach banks) to Srilanka today is about 30 miles. One cannot rule out catastrophic events causing tectonic shifts in landmass bringing lanka closer to India.

Hence it is not unreasonable to infer that the sea level would also be subjected to periods of rising and falling throughout the history of the material creation including the time during and after the Ramayana." kindly refer the Srimad Bhagavatam (especially 3rd Canto) and the puranas which give exact descriptions of all ages right from the beginning of creation and even of the future ages and even of what is beyond the domain of Time, Kala.If anyone who objects must in turn be able to give a credible answer to the question of why "Sri Lanka-Ceylon" is not found where the sastras say Lanka should be? At least 100 yojanas (1287 km) away, on or near the equator, and at the meridian passing through Avanti. What I have shown closely agrees with sastra but the location of modern "Sri Lanka-Ceylon" does not." If the same distance has remained from Treta yuga, then you should also be able to show the mountains from Ramayana which are 1287 kms high or at least 2 yojanas high that Lanka is on the same meridian.

Please highlight the facts about Ram setu.... actually the Valmiki Ramayana says that the setu formed was 100 yojana in length, and the distance between india and sri lanka is not that long, and when i came to know this thought, it created some doubts to my mind, but this video clears my doubts, however if you can give some highlights on particularly the ram setu, i would be greatfull. The Rama Setu, Bhagwan Rama's bridge is specifically mentioned in Ramayana, Yuddha kanda, Chapter 22, text 76, to be 100 yojanas (1287 kms) long and 10 yojanas (128 kms) wide and was built in just 5 days. Presently, the Rama Setu from Dhanushkoti in India to Talai Mannar in Sri Lanka is only 48 kms long. This apparent and huge difference in the distance has led many scholars to propose that Lanka of the Ramayana may be a different place than present day Sri Lanka.Actually, the difference in distance can very easily be reconciled by understanding the principle of yuga bheda and kala bheda, differences that occur in material manifestations by the influence of time and the changing millenniums. Here are a few examples: It is clearly mentioned in the Srimad Bhagavatam 10.52.2 that when Muchukunda, who had been in deep slumber since the satya yuga, woke up in Dwapara yuga, he noticed that the size of all the human beings, animals, trees and plants was severely reduced (samviksya ksullakan martyan pasun virud-vanaspatin). In Srimad Bhagavatam 10.52.12, when Jarasandha was chasing Krishna and Balarama, They climbed a mountain named Pravarshana. Jarasandha set fire around the mountain and Krishna and Balarama jumped from the mountaintop from a height of eleven yojanas!!! (88 miles or 142 kms). The Pravarshana Mountain, which probably may not be the highest mountain in Dwapara yuga (as the Himalayas may have been the highest), located somewhere in North or Central India, is mentioned to be 142 kms high. The tallest mountain in Kali yuga according to modern scientists is Mount Everest, which is only 8.848 kms, or less than 9 kms (not even 1 yojana). In Ramayana also, there is a description of a mountain 100 yojanas in height (800 miles or 1288 kms). Even if it may be argued that the mountain might be submerged in the sea, scientists say that the deepest point in the sea is the Challenger deep in the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean, and it is 10.994 kms deep (again less than 1 yojana). Thus in kali yuga, there is no mountain more than 1 yojana in height whereas in Treta yuga, we see mountains over 100 yojanas in height. Even at the end of Dvapara yuga and beginning of Kali yuga, we see mountains 11 yojanas high. There are innumerable examples of geographical descriptions in the Vedic scriptures which are incomprehensible to the tiny brains of Kali yuga. The faithless outrightly reject these descriptions and brand the scriptures to be mythology, legends or epics. Those with some faith try to adjust these with some interpretation or try to connect with some scientific explanation as if Science is of absolute credibility.

Let me give you the full story of fraud Nilesh Oak. He came up with a fraud date for Ramayana which is 12K BCE. He then realised that at that time (12K BCE), sea water level was that low that a bridge to Sri Lanka was not needed. Bhagwan Rama can just walk to Lanka, no need Rama Setu. His ego did not allow him to admit that he's wrong. So, he did the next best thing, tell lies to cover up the original mistake. So, he comes out with first lie, which is Sri Lanka is not Ravana's Lanka, it is lost in Indian ocean. Then, 2nd lie, Rama setu is a replica, the real Nala Setu is lost in Indian Ocean. 3rd lie, Vibishana has died. Vibishana that met Sahadeva during Mahabharata is some other Vibishana, not Ravana's brother. He ignores the fact that Vibishana is a chiranjeevi (immortal). I can give you a list of many more of his fraud. Ramayana is real, people like this fraud here is the ones that bastardise Itihasa for personal gains. For example , the 'Ramar paadham - Rama's foot' in Kodikkarai , TN - Intitally Ram thought, this is the best place to cross to Srilanka, before going to Dhanush Koti. The several temples near rameshwaram - which talks about Ram's legend. All will go for a toss , if Srilanka is actually not Ravana's lanka. I think this refers to SiwHelaDweepa not SinhalaDweepa. Siw (means 04) hela Dweepa consists of Jabu dweepa, Lanka dweepa, Kuru dweepa and Giri dweepa. Lanka Dweepa was located in east of Sri Lanka.

This means present Srilanka is not Ravana’s Lanka as the distance from Rameshvaram (close to which is the Gandhamadana mountain from which Hanuman Ji leaped to reach banks) to Srilanka today is about 30 miles.

If the same distance has remained from Treta yuga, then you should also be able to show the mountains from Ramayana which are 1287 kms high or at least 2 yojanas high that Lanka is on the same meridian.

Please highlight the facts about Ram setu.... actually the Valmiki Ramayana says that the setu formed was 100 yojana in length, and the distance between india and sri lanka is not that long, and when i came to know this thought, it created some doubts to my mind, but this video clears my doubts, however if you can give some highlights on particularly the ram setu, i would be greatfull. The Rama Setu, Bhagwan Rama's bridge is specifically mentioned in Ramayana, Yuddha kanda, Chapter 22, text 76, to be 100 yojanas (1287 kms) long and 10 yojanas (128 kms) wide and was built in just 5 days. Presently, the Rama Setu from Dhanushkoti in India to Talai Mannar in Sri Lanka is only 48 kms long. This apparent and huge difference in the distance has led many scholars to propose that Lanka of the Ramayana may be a different place than present day Sri Lanka.Actually, the difference in distance can very easily be reconciled by understanding the principle of yuga bheda and kala bheda, differences that occur in material manifestations by the influence of time and the changing millenniums. Here are a few examples: It is clearly mentioned in the Srimad Bhagavatam 10.52.2 that when Muchukunda, who had been in deep slumber since the satya yuga, woke up in Dwapara yuga, he noticed that the size of all the human beings, animals, trees and plants was severely reduced (samviksya ksullakan martyan pasun virud-vanaspatin). In Srimad Bhagavatam 10.52.12, when Jarasandha was chasing Krishna and Balarama, They climbed a mountain named Pravarshana. Jarasandha set fire around the mountain and Krishna and Balarama jumped from the mountaintop from a height of eleven yojanas!!! (88 miles or 142 kms). The Pravarshana Mountain, which probably may not be the highest mountain in Dwapara yuga (as the Himalayas may have been the highest), located somewhere in North or Central India, is mentioned to be 142 kms high.
The tallest mountain in Kali yuga according to modern scientists is Mount Everest, which is only 8.848 kms, or less than 9 kms (not even 1 yojana). In Ramayana also, there is a description of a mountain 100 yojanas in height (800 miles or 1288 kms). Even if it may be argued that the mountain might be submerged in the sea, scientists say that the deepest point in the sea is the Challenger deep in the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean, and it is 10.994 kms deep (again less than 1 yojana).
Thus in kali yuga, there is no mountain more than 1 yojana in height whereas in Treta yuga, we see mountains over 100 yojanas in height. Even at the end of Dvapara yuga and beginning of Kali yuga, we see mountains 11 yojanas high. There are innumerable examples of geographical descriptions in the Vedic scriptures which are incomprehensible to the tiny brains of Kali yuga. The faithless outrightly reject these descriptions and brand the scriptures to be mythology, legends or epics. Those with some faith try to adjust these with some interpretation or try to connect with some scientific explanation as if Science is of absolute credibility.

Let me give you the full story of fraud Nilesh Oak.
He came up with a fraud date for Ramayana which is 12K BCE. He then realised that at that time (12K BCE), sea water level was that low that a bridge to Sri Lanka was not needed. Bhagwan Rama can just walk to Lanka, no need Rama Setu.
His ego did not allow him to admit that he's wrong.
So, he did the next best thing, tell lies to cover up the original mistake.
So, he comes out with first lie, which is Sri Lanka is not Ravana's Lanka, it is lost in Indian ocean.
Then, 2nd lie, Rama setu is a replica, the real Nala Setu is lost in Indian Ocean.
3rd lie, Vibishana has died. Vibishana that met Sahadeva during Mahabharata is some other Vibishana, not Ravana's brother. He ignores the fact that Vibishana is a chiranjeevi (immortal).

And the Present structure between Bhārat and Simhala dweepa is not Real Rāma Sethu these are facts as per Vālmiki Rāmāyana, Padma Mahapurana. This present structure is only 30-40km long. 100yojanas ≠ 40km. 1yojana = 13km approximately. So 1300km is 100yojanas. Where is the 1300km between Bhārat and Simhala dweepa??
