Found my first yooperlite using a Convoy C8 365nm UV flashlight 🔦.

Last weekend, I went up to the beaches of Lake Superior to prospect for gold and hunt for yooperlites. This is my yooperlite hunting adventure. I was lucky enough to find one! I used a Convoy C8 365nm UV flashlight. A thunderstorm cut the second night short. I would recommend placing a glow stick where you enter the beach. I did not and got "lost" for a bit trying to find my vehicle when it started raining. I spent one and a half hours looking the first night and about an hour th second night. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

The one that glowed red is interesting. Wonder what makes it glow red. So this is your first :) It sure is a nice bright one ! My first was smaller and bright also. Sorry it had to rain on your hunt. Congrats on the one before the rain😊

I was so excited when I finally found one. I went almost 2 years between finding the 17 in one night this spring. Thanks for watching. I'm not sure what makes the red one glow, but I kept it also. I just started learning about rocks a few years ago and find it fun.

because of these rocks the beaches are being picked clean. getting harder to find.

I have noticed more rock hounds on the beaches.
