How to play My Sacrifice by CREED on guitar

- Опубликовано: 13 июл 2024
- Created for guitarists with prior experience learning and performing cover tunes. This video will present all the riffs from My Sacrifice by Creed in a quick format. The song is arranged for a single guitarist.
Pardon the handwritten "guitar tab", this is a quick hand format which presents the notes being played, but relies on a musicians's ear to remember patterns and dynamics when playing the part.
The clean parts of this songs are great places for a little bit of improvisation. This version will not be note for note perfect to the record, it will present a version of the song intended for live performances in cover / tribute bands.

I agree with that first statement: Say what you want about Creed, but Mark Tremonti is an amazing guitarist
The BREAK on this track is LEGENDARY
I can't be the only one who thinks this sounds better clean. Even acoustic, this is a beautiful guitar arrangement. Great video, thanks!
Thanks for the comment. I agree, a lot of songs sound great acoustically. Personally been hooked to "Outside" by Staind recently. I think it comes down to song writing, when you remove the extra stuff the song and performance is still there.
Gotta admit; doodled out tabs are a nice human touch to seeing the music
No kidding.! I hav been searching for someone to help me with this song and finally ! Thank you so much! Loads of positivity to you!
Thanks for such a great video - would be great to see more videos like this!
Nice job! Thanks for the gear setting knowledge too
Cool lesson! Thanks for uploading! 🎸
I broke my guitar string trying to tune it right for this song 😂
I just did too, only moments after reading this. shoulda taken you more seriously man
Thnx this tutorial bro!very concise!!!
This is a awesome song love it
Underrated channel right here. Subbed! My only critique is play what you're teaching up front. At least a sample of it so we know what we're getting into.
Good comment! I will start doing that
Dude.. he's not playing the song correctly lol.
CREED is an awesome band
Very thanks man!!!
I'm amazed! One last breath next😁
That was sick
cant blv the guitar sounds so good
Thank you bro...
Awesome loved it!! great tutorial. Love your PRS!!
Thanks! I wasn't planning on buying the PRS until I played it and the action was smooth as butter. I LOVE the coil tap on it, especially for Creed tunes because they switch between those light chimey notes and heavier chords like nothing.
@@TaberTouring How do you like the Floyd Rose Trem system on there? I had one once a long time ago when I was real new to guitars. It made for cumbersome string changing. Then again, it was like my second guitar... I just thought it looked cool at the time! Haha
@@SheepDog1513 to be honest I wish I'd bought the version without it. I don't use it and it makes changing tunings impossible. I ended up blocking my trem bridge to keep it still, much better.
@Michael Taber I have the same PRS SE Custom 24 Ltd. Ed. (has a roasted maple fretboard). I love it but find myself playing my LPs more often. I took it off the wall to clean it yesterday then again when I came across your video today! I was looking for a reason to play it... Fount it!
Nice video by the way. I really like how you explain how you're achieving your tones. A lot of people don't do this and I think it leaves the newbs hanging a bit... Thanks for the tabs too!
Lastly, Creed was friggin awesome! Mark is my guitar god. I own a Tremonti Core PRS. It's autographed by Mark (back in '03)! Take care....KEEP JAMMIN'!!
Mark tremonti is the best 🤘thx for the 🎸 lesson
Thank you
Nice job on the video !!
Hopefully our socal venues will start opening sooner rather than later. Even if we aren't playing, so we can go to shows. Videos aren't the same haha
Nice man 🤘🏻..... Thank you !
Rock on!
Wow 🥰 love it ya ..
Thank you guys... and im suscribe you
What do you mean when set up your guitar when using open tunings? Have one guitar only with that tuning?
This looks like the same guitar from the music video and the one they used live
Damn dude your good!
Great video man 🤘
Fkn awesome
After watched.. you are awesome man
great sound, great video, bty, have same guitar on the back
Which one!? The JA-90 telecaster?? I LOVE that guitar
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
The tabs for the intro are correct? Or you play something different from what is written?
Great video! I would like to know what you added to the Jack... That made me feel thirsty
Angostura bitters
And a sugar cube (not on video)
Nice handwritten tab sheets. Would have appreciated markers for the section in the video. But pretty clear apart from the break which seems to have a moving low part on the original to my ears but is not picked up in the chords.
Still a good watch, thanks.
Markers added, great recommendation!
Mark tremonti is awesome guitar player he uses alot f alternate tuning
Its h drop d right ?
Hi great playing, just wondering why the weird tuning and can it be played in standard tuning
That open tuning is how Creed played the song, they have a few songs in that tuning actually. I've had luck playing it in drop D just focusing on getting the main bits to sound right. The little fills and embellishments only work in the open tuning.
This song has so many resonating harmonies it wouldn’t sound the same in other tunings. It’s what makes this song great
The first video I watched was from the cifra club in dadgad tuning. Too painful to play. Thanks for this!
Isso!
Not exactly correct but i got the general idea. Thanks
Maybe you can help me, @11:02 that very small guitar Riff spot sounds very similar to another older rock song can anyone help me and figure it out?
Kashmir by Led Zeppelin.
@@adrobestia262 you just finally ended my headache of like the last hour trying to figure this out. Thank you dude.
@@Zjlax9 rock oooonnnn
Patch?
3:45 There’s something wrong on this second chord, the bass note isn’t right… at least to my memory.
Great job although I would say in the intro it sounds better to play open d (e string)- open d (b string) on the up pick rather then playing 2 notes on the same string 5-5 👌👍
So would both strings be the same tuning? Sounds like they’d be double just like a 12 string high e is.
@@thetribalist6923 exactly 👌🏻👍🏻
@@rickmorty7170 good to know. That tuning always confused me haha
hate re-tuning my guitar 😤
so you need to replace the b string with a high e string???
no, just tune it
Hola, ¿Usted utiliza pedales para esta canción?
Hola! I would use the pedals: overdrive, reverb, and delay. Rock on!
Coil split not coil tap...
FFS was that one or two dash’s of warshtittsters sauce?
You look like the Spider-Man guy from movie bro
But which one dude?
So.. whats with the "Old Fasioned"
sounds fuck like it
Great video .. but be nice to your guitar especially when you switch pick ups ❤️
Thanks! Yeah that switching looks pretty agressive hahaha
thats moody tone arghh
Im a moody man...
Your right hand is way off on the verse, especially here at 4:45. Not tying to be a jerk, its just wrong and you're showing people how to play the song. Its incorrect in other areas as well. The way you play it sounds like the result of someone who learned how to play it from youtube..... from a guy who teaches it incorrectly. Not being a wise guy just being critical, this is a great song and deserves more.
Yap, They write great songs and than butcher them good.
To much talk
Cool channel, I came here after seeing Rhett use it on Instagram
