    I watched the video of Ruth landing. Dad's hands were in position to take over the yoke landing the plane safely. His hands were inches from the yoke. In this video dad observed Ruth inserting data. Provided assistance & corrections when needed. Ruth was very well supervised. Many people in any type of training capacity should watch those videos to learn how to teach. Her dad is an excellent teacher.

      I agree. These videos should be a part of instructor training in general. I'm not a pilot but I have instructed a few different things. I'd like to see videos of the preflight and debrief too. I can learn things about flying from watching RuthlessAviatorGirl learn. I can become a better teacher by observing her dad.

    I just found this channel because of Kelsey’s ATC breakdown video he just posted on 74 Gear. He had me laughing as he broke down with complete satire one of your daughter’s interactions with ATC!
    So many parents these days give their kids an iPad or tablet so they don’t have to engage their children. You on the other hand spend time with your daughter at work, instead of using work as an escape from your family. She will grow up knowing how much her dad invested in her. The fact that she is having to engage her brain to think through the checklists and verify responses is impressive! I wish more parents would invest in their children these days at the levels you are doing.

    If you pulled down the vids because a complaint was filed, how about writing up a disclaimer to put into the description section of each video? Something explaining that you work as a flight instructor (listing your experience and credentials), that the plane is designed for single pilot operation, that it is a small biz jet and not a commercial airliner, that she is a student like other students you teach (not a copilot), and that there is no minimum age for students. Plus that she is an unusually mature 6 year old (she seems more like 8-10 YO!) with a real aptitude for understanding and learning this stuff and seemingly instinctual CRM. This is not something a pilot who is not an instructor should attempt with a typical 6 year old child. This might put to rest most of the complaints/concerns?

    • @beachbum77979
      @beachbum77979 Год назад +5

      A disclaimer in the video might help. But a lot of comments seemed to be from jealous, angry and uninformed people just spouting that the videos demonstrated dangerous, irresponsible and illegal behavior. Those people exposed their ignorance. I don't know if a disclaimer would help them. And he might have taken them down to protect his daughter from that anger and stupidity. I wouldn't blame him. I do hope those videos come back even if he chooses to disable comments, and I hope we can continue to watch RuthlessAviatorGirl grow as a pilot and as a person.

      Wonder if he got in trouble with the FAA or if he was warned that he could. Aeroflot flight 593 came to mind, where a pilot let his teenage kids control a plane under supervision and they crashed it, I can't imagine the FAA would approve of a 6 year old having access to flight controls. The only complaint can be that a child is at the controls. Obviously she doesn't have a license to operate an aircraft. Their concern would be that she can potentially put the aircraft in a dangerous situation with its passengers, the aircraft around it and people on the ground. I personally don't think it's an issue, because she is under strict supervision and she seems to handle everything quite well. Children nowadays are a lot better with technology than any of us.

    • @k1productions87
      @k1productions87 Год назад +2

      @@The_1_Assassin Plus the fact there are no passengers, and the traffic at the small landing fields is nice and spread out, as small fields generally are.
      In fact, except for major international airports, traffic isn't even an issue, as any ATC worth their wage could easily keep everyone nicely and safely spaced out, even ready to redirect and reassign any time it is needed.
      So double the level of strict supervision. Now, I wouldn't DARE have her in the cockpit by herself at any time, even during level flight with the auto-pilot on. That would be irresponsible in the worst way. But that is clearly not what is happening here.

In my opinion, parents and teachers are way to quick to dismiss abilities due to a child's age. Which I guess is easier and more convenient for them, because otherwise they'd have to put in time and effort to actually being a good teacher. Being a good teacher is exactly what the dad displays in this (and many of the other) Video.

    So she wrote nothing down, and only parroted back what you said, in small chunks, and ate up tons of time on freq, blocking other aircraft, and then had to apologize and feel like crap for failing daddy. Are we supposed to be impressed that she can push buttons and parrot back words? This is some sick stuff. And there’s zero situational awareness of the PIC, he’s focusing 100% of his attention on double-checking everything she does. Wow.
