Thank you SO much to our guides Logan, Pippin and Callie for sharing this incredible place with us! I will forever be obsessed with glowworms. You can learn more about all of the awesome experiences available in the glowworm caves at www.waitomo.com/
Claire! Thank you so much for an incredible virtual travel experience. Everything is just so beautiful and awesome. I have never seen a glow worm in action! Wow! Very cool! Wheelchair accessible caves?!?!?!?! I am DED! YAS! If ever I am blessed with the opportunity to travel overseas, I must visit these caves. I never knew such beautiful adventurous spaces were available for those of us who need an accessible travel path to experience parts of the world that are generally reserved for more athletic, mobile bodies. This is such exciting information to learn! Thank you!
HUGE thank you to Logan, Pippin, and Callie, the Legendary Black Water Rafting Co and Discover Waitomo! Experiencing the glowworms in person was truly magical!!
Need Goop Dingle Dangles on a glow in the dark T-shirt or stickers. Also Logan the guide, was amazing. Loved hearing all the history. Glowworm cave going on my bucket list. ❤
I went there last November with my husband, brought Sony 35 f1.4GM and 135 f1.8 lenses with 2 cameras. We went through all 3 caves Ruakuri, Aranui and Waitomo cave. But we were unfortunately not allowed to photograph the glowworms though our cameras had no flash at all. Later on I went to the "glowworm tunnel" in Sydney and got some proper photos.
Yes, thats true! We were fortunate to be invited and allowed document the experience in a private setting. They want to protect the cave formations from backpacks/tripods plus the safety/enjoyment of everyone during the cave tubing tours, which I totally get! I think Cameras, tripods, and headlamps are allowed in Ruakuri in their photography tour. For me, these caves would still be worth it even without my camera (my phone actually did a great job too), I really enjoyed them! The Ruakuri Bush Walk is free and tripods/cameras are allowed there, so that's what I would recommend for photographers wanting to document the glowworms in Waitomo👍 I'll have to look up the glowworm tunnel in Sydney now that I'm obsessed with glowworms haha
@@justinblacktravels Welcome. It's name is simply "Glow Worm Tunnel walking track". It's an open wilderness area with no restriction of access. There's another glow worm tunnel in Helensburgh too near Sydney.

What are your camera and lens to capture the video in the cave, please
All our gear is listed in the description but I mainly used the 24mm 1.4 in the dark
I don't like any worms but they are so beautiful
that is terrifying😂
Mmm i thought you not allowed to photograph in the caves
We were invited there for private excursions specifically to film them and share! It was a really special experience.
