Despite their name, they're not actually worms but rather the larvae of fungus gnats. These small larvae emit a blue-green light from their tails, attracting insects towards their sticky silk threads for food. This natural illumination creates a captivating sight, especially in the dark caverns of places like Waitomo, where thousands of glowworms create a starry spectacle, enchanting visitors with their magical glow.

Quick question are we able to book these the day of or do they sale out?
I would recommend booking these experience in advance, they tend to sellout, especially during peak travel seasons
