Mission's Brother Griff

- Mission Vao encounters Lena, her brother's girlfriend. Lena tells Mission that she and her brother broke up, and that leaving Mission behind on Taris was really Griff's idea. This launches the party into a search for Griff on Tatooine. The person they find is less than ideal.

Griff is the only minor character of the game that makes an appereance in the comics. That's REALLY an achievement, considering that even main characters like Canderous and Bastila didn't appear at all.
Gadon Thek and Brejik appeared in the Taris Siege arc.
@@elanhernandez They were secundary and relevant characters. Griff had a really minor role and you can avoid him in the entire game.
I really need to buy those omnibuses these days.
People still upload kotor videos! 17 years later! I love it!
18. 🤮
@bard Ouch. Wait...it came out in July 15. So close. 😭
griff was KOTOR's greatest villain
I hate no one more
Believe me if there were more despicable characters (like that Twi'lek that enslaved Juhani). Griff was only a poor bastard
@@TetsuShima Wrong. Griff is the ultimate evil. The actual antichrist.
UPDATE: Apparently, in my book, Griff Vao redeemed himself and was given hordes of credits by Revan and was eventually a member of the Orion along with Channa Mae and Kobayashi.
That's to be expected from the Prophet of Regret. Actually, that's one thing I like about him, the voice actor. Robin Atkin is surprisingly good at playing a gangster.
Greatest villain would be Vrook, actually.
Poor Lena, she seemed really nice
The fact that I have met many Griff's made me painfully appreciate this type of character in the game, its nice when Star Wars puts flawed characters that aren't necessarily "evil" just flawed and poor personality.
I mean, he got really close to the evil side of things XD
Just a shame Zaalbar couldn't chime in since he's more of a brother than Griff could be.
Funnily, Lena's (not to mention the Tatooine Czerka Corp. rep) VA is actually Grey Delisle-Griffin a.k.a. Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender (honestly, a bunch of KotOR female voices just ooze that crazy fire princess's voice), Mandy from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Catwoman/Selina Kyle from the Batman: Arkham games, Moon Butterfly and Jackie Lynn-Thomas from Star vs. the Forces of Evil, and Daphne Blake for the current Scooby-Doo iterations.
Also, she and Catherine Taber (Mission's VA) became co-voice actors in Nickelodeon's The Loud House (Grey is Lola, Lana, and Lily, while Cat is Lori), all while they voiced Padme Amidala for the two Clone Wars series (Grey for the 2003 micro series alongside her Shaak Ti role and a few others, Cat for the 2008 CGI series).
These voice actors all have a lot of history together. Tom Kane is in these games a lot and later became the narrator, admiral ylaren and lots of others. Cool little click they all have
Recently replayed KOTOR. The art of making interesting companion characters seems to have been lost. The story of Mission and her brother is a relatively short one, but it's well executed and we get to witness character growth. It's not the happy ending we might've wanted, but Mission emerges stronger for it. This is true for most of the companions, but I feel like Mission has the best story of them all. It's so down to earth and very relatable.
I felt so Sorry for Mission Vao during this Sidequest. She Deserved Better.... and Thankfully Mission got a Better family with the Crew of the Ebon Hawk....
... Canderous excepted.
@@timonsolus True
Gryff is only character as a light side player I wish I could find a way to kill without gaining dark side points.
I felt bad for Mission. She thought her brother was a great guy and that Lena ruined his life and took him away from her. With you, Mission reunites with Griff after many years, only to realize her brother really was the sleazy sack of crap that Lena said he was and he had abandoned her
Griff is definitely a Grifter.
Marty McFly’s Star Wars persona
Mission's brother's name should've been Quest not Griff :D Nice video Papito :)
Thank you. As you can no doubt tell from the length, it took a while.
@@PapitoQinn Yeahh most people don't how long it takes to make a video, it's like going in a restaruant, you may finish your dinner in 15 minutes but it took 45 minutes to cook it for someone.
Yeah. You might even lose your appetite by then.
3:36: Gotta love abusing Force Persuades, even if KotOR II shows the darker aspects of it.
Revan's really stingy here, huh?
So much for being a Jedi...
And Tarisian ale will come back in the spotlight in 40 ABY... 3996 years later!
Here because Star Marshal's Light Side playthrough didn't include this for some reason (maybe a game bug); there's also my need to watch more KotOR content lately.
If u ever find griff hmu bro owes me 15$ on venmo
I'm playing again after years. I forgot almost everything about the game, it's almost like playing for the first time. In 3:43 I chose the second dialogue option, and maybe that prevented the Mission side quest from not being triggered in my gameplay. Am I right?
I'm actually not sure.
I’m playing it on my iPhone sick game
They ported the sequel too. And I heard there's a way to get the cut content mod even on mobile.
Why the Tusken had that weird respirator only in this game?
They were Tuskens from 4,000 years before the Battle of Yavin. Even Tusken fashion can change in that amount of time, I guess. Although the Jawas looked the same.
Where do find find the tach gland?
On Kashyyyk.
@@PapitoQinn Yea I found it. Sometimes I speak too soon.
Where's Sarge?
Who?
@@PapitoQinn Red vs. Blue joke.
Please explain the reference?
Sorry, I’m from Sulon… she broke up with Griff months after? What In Bantha poo is a month? Speak Basic. It’s galactic standard.
