Krystle Clark and Lois maybe? But yeh this was one of the most heartbreaking scenes ever. The chemistry between those 2 were incredible and this moment in particular got me in tears and I'm a man in tears over this scene. Incredible.
How Kristen Kreuk did not win any serious awards for her acting in this series is beyond me. She is so powerful. In this episode as well as season 5 episode 3 when Clark dies, she can make you feel the pain Lana feels.

This scene still utterly shatters me.. I remember watching this for the first and sobbing even if i knew it was coming it was still hard. Kristen and Tom did a beautiful job here. Folks can say whatever they want about Clana but you cannot deny the chemistry with these two.. Even though i loved clois too. Clana will forever be my ultimate couple. See Arrow should have taken notes least dealing with relationships. It went down the drain when they focused olicity killed Laurel ugh what a mess.

The acting between Tom and Kristen was always amazing, especially in this scene. You could feel their genuine emotions with some moments coming off as slightly unscripted but was kept in which I love. I hate to compare it to Superman and Lois but I feel like the acting there isn't as raw or as good like in Smallville. For anyone wondering what happened to Lana after this, she moved to Africa and is known as Valkrie/Angel of the plateau. I really wish season 11 made it to television, I would've loved to see Lana and Lois interact for one more time after Lana kicked her through the door lol.

Ik its cliche and it sucks to hear. But it will be ok. It may not b rn but know that I have faith in u and love u. Idk u personally but I feel ur pain and ik ur hurting. Its been 8 1/2 years and do i find myself thinking of her time to time. For sure. But ik shes happy. Shes wit someone else now and has been for the past 6 years. And structure helps set goals/gives you a sense of control. I feel its made me a more well rounded individual and it keeps me occupied with so many new hobbies. I practice healthy things like going for walks “If u need motivation play pokemon go or monster hunter now”. Go fishing its peaceful. I even walk barefoot in my backyard/light incense to just sit down,breath and take it all in. You will find balance in ur life but thats only if u make effort. And the cool thing is youll grow from all this,meet ppl,become more confident. And who knows u might meet someone through a hobby like i did wit my current girl. So remember your mind controls ur body. And always know u control ur mind. Ur the boss. Mind body connection. U got this :) Take ur time. Mourn. Its ok. But appreciate the bond,love and memories u have. And trust me. You will look back at this and smile to see how far u come. Keep your head up bud. I always hated this scene…..because if you don’t over think the plot and see the chemistry of these characters, it’s really really obvious that Clark ended up with Lois because he couldn’t be with Lana. Because they couldn’t physically be attached to each other. Clark didn’t realize that he loved Lois more than Lana, he realized that can’t be with Lana.
He won’t be able to take it off remember when his krypton mother came back she gave him a blue k bracelet and Clark couldn’t get it off And also if they you know Lana probably would of broke Clark’s back
This was heartbreaking! I am sure the Fortress of Solitude with Jor-El’s help could have done something or send Clark back in time to fix it like he did before.
The last time Clark travelled back in time to change something, he unintentionally traded his father's life to save Lana's. He couldn't risk something like that happening again. As for Jor-El, he would want Clark to focus on his destiny rather than get caught up in the frequent Lana drama.
No matter what as much as I liked Clark and Lana together it was always going to end up with Clark and Lois lane. As one who has followed the comics and all Superman shows I stick to the story. This episode was the end of Clark and Lana but the start for Clark and Lois.

He couldn't use the blue kryptonite. Her STRENGTH would harm him if he did that. He'd basically have the body of a human at that point, which is the same as it was before. He didn't want to do anything with Lana before because he was always afraid his physical strength would hurt her.
+Clark and lana doesnt work if you seen the episode with that doctor from krypton that wears that blue kryptonite braclet and then brainiac comes and pulls out kryptonite and he got weak
Ultimately, the fact about quantity can be observed throughout the show, not the least when Clark is trapped in the kryptonite-infused cage made by Lionel when he wanted to prove he had the Passenger and when Kara comes to save him.

Writers had to make this 'ish up to get in the way of the SPARKING chemistry between these two. I find myself preferring Lana over Lois in both Smallville and the Animated Series
I like it because it's realistic. We have one love that's just unforgettable, amazing, who you loved strongly enough to lose yourself in it. Then you move on, years later meet someone you truly love and care for, your relationship is real and good but it's never as 'strong' and life changing as that first one. Same happens with Clark and Lana. It's that first love that doesn't work out but that you remember in your heart of hearts.
No, I have watched the show closely and I know when this scene happens. And no, it doesn't work the way you think it does. It's simply a matter of quantity - 500lbs of green K Lana absorbed cannot be negated by a little piece of blue K. Lana absorbed so much of it that only a truck load of blue K could allow Clark to be near her, and that obviously wouldn't work. The hint about quantity is in the episode when Clark's ship absorbs the green K from the Lana's necklace in Clark's storm cellar.
I used to imagine when I was young watching this show that when I finally grow up and meet a girl, it would resemble this relationship between CK and LL but sadly this type of relationship is Only possible if your Clack Kent and your girl is Lana Lang lol
Well in that case it makes sense, wearing a blue K ring just like wearing a red K ring. Once it's on it goes directly into his skin. But Lana wearing a blue K necklace which wouldn't affect Clark next to so much green K doesn't make sense at all, sorry. :P Anyway, slipping on a ring every time he sees Lana was probably too much of a hassle for Clark so the producers decided to drop her. :) Which I agree with, btw, because Lois is way more kick-ass than Lana ever was. ;)
i love this series but i dont give it a ten mostly because season eight and nine seems to drag on and season ten i felt was made is a rush and they crammed to much in there at once
if there love was strong enough they would have tried anything.at least with blue k. clark could be around lana without getting sick and maybe lana would find away to train herself or be trained in order to find away to control her powers without breaking clark. maybe I watch too many shows like pushing daises where the couple on that show love each other so much that they make it work despite not being able to touch each other.

This scene is very unsatisfying to me. It seems like overkill on the destiny and tragedy theme. While it’s a heartbreaking scene and well scripted for the path they chose, I think creating a plot where she can’t be with him because of kryptonite in her is too much. A better plot I think would’ve been to have her killed off permanently (maybe by Luthor? As his way of trying to get Superman to break) this way you give a satisfying end to their relationship and show how it puts Superman at this crossroads, will he become the villain he always feared or would he be the hero he’s destined to be. You can have them declare their undying love show how Lana really played a huge role in his development as Superman, but you can show how Lois was always meant to be because she could handle his secret and she could handle him being gone to save the world. But that doesn’t mean Lana didn’t really love Clark or couldn’t handle his secret because she’s terrible, but it would be because of her own trauma that she couldn’t do it. And Clark at an immature point in his life feels like he can’t tell her because of his parent’s view that stuck with him that his enemies would come for his loved ones. But with Lois it’s representative of him leaving his parents’ view and being his own man who trusts Lois fully.
it looks like despite what clark said to lana he learned to accept the relationship being over.clark could have went back in time to prevent the bomb from being built if that could have been possible or he could risked being human with lana giving her blue kryptnite to cancel out the green kryptonite.i think it would be hard for clark to be superman with lana as his girlfriend anyway.
there was nothing Clark could do. he did not have that kind of power to reverse it at the time. if he could do something he would of. he loves Lana more than Lois, more than anything. if She ever came back to him cured by some scientist, or some force, Clark would drop fugly Lois in a heartbeat to reunite with his first true love Lana.
Lex made the bomb out of green K, what is there to think through? Even if Clark had blue K (which he hadn't) and even if he imbued her with it (which probably wasn't possible anyway) then what? That bomb would've gone off and destroyed Daily Planet along with half of Metropolis and then what? lol Tell you what - don't quit your day job just yet because your screenplay writing skills need a bit more honing. lol

Writers had to make this 'ish up to get in the way of the SPARKING chemistry between these two. I find myself preferring Lana over Lois in both Smallville and the Animated Series
I like it because it's realistic. We have one love that's just unforgettable, amazing, who you loved strongly enough to lose yourself in it. Then you move on, years later meet someone you truly love and care for, your relationship is real and good but it's never as 'strong' and life changing as that first one. Same happens with Clark and Lana. It's that first love that doesn't work out but that you remember in your heart of hearts.

No, I have watched the show closely and I know when this scene happens. And no, it doesn't work the way you think it does. It's simply a matter of quantity - 500lbs of green K Lana absorbed cannot be negated by a little piece of blue K. Lana absorbed so much of it that only a truck load of blue K could allow Clark to be near her, and that obviously wouldn't work.
The hint about quantity is in the episode when Clark's ship absorbs the green K from the Lana's necklace in Clark's storm cellar.

Well in that case it makes sense, wearing a blue K ring just like wearing a red K ring. Once it's on it goes directly into his skin. But Lana wearing a blue K necklace which wouldn't affect Clark next to so much green K doesn't make sense at all, sorry. :P
Anyway, slipping on a ring every time he sees Lana was probably too much of a hassle for Clark so the producers decided to drop her. :)

i heard that annette who plays martha on this show might have played the best lana lang.
if there love was strong enough they would have tried anything.at least with blue k. clark could be around lana without getting sick and maybe lana would find away to train herself or be trained in order to find away to control her powers without breaking clark. maybe I watch too many shows like pushing daises where the couple on that show love each other so much that they make it work despite not being able to touch each other.

This scene is very unsatisfying to me. It seems like overkill on the destiny and tragedy theme. While it’s a heartbreaking scene and well scripted for the path they chose, I think creating a plot where she can’t be with him because of kryptonite in her is too much. A better plot I think would’ve been to have her killed off permanently (maybe by Luthor? As his way of trying to get Superman to break) this way you give a satisfying end to their relationship and show how it puts Superman at this crossroads, will he become the villain he always feared or would he be the hero he’s destined to be. You can have them declare their undying love show how Lana really played a huge role in his development as Superman, but you can show how Lois was always meant to be because she could handle his secret and she could handle him being gone to save the world. But that doesn’t mean Lana didn’t really love Clark or couldn’t handle his secret because she’s terrible, but it would be because of her own trauma that she couldn’t do it. And Clark at an immature point in his life feels like he can’t tell her because of his parent’s view that stuck with him that his enemies would come for his loved ones. But with Lois it’s representative of him leaving his parents’ view and being his own man who trusts Lois fully.

it looks like despite what clark said to lana he learned to accept the relationship being over.clark could have went back in time to prevent the bomb from being built if that could have been possible or he could risked being human with lana giving her blue kryptnite to cancel out the green kryptonite.i think it would be hard for clark to be superman with lana as his girlfriend anyway.
there was nothing Clark could do. he did not have that kind of power to reverse it at the time. if he could do something he would of. he loves Lana more than Lois, more than anything. if She ever came back to him cured by some scientist, or some force, Clark would drop fugly Lois in a heartbeat to reunite with his first true love Lana.
