I think King's Island needs to first do RMC Son of Beast. I'm all for a strata (launches are one of my favourite sensation) but it would be poetic to reincarnate the legendary wood coaster.
@@LegendForsaken That’s true but if Magnum and and Gemini was to go they could definitely squeeze a massive B&M giga in that spot. These arrow coasters are going the way of the dodo they are not many left.
Kings Island needs to build a record breaking coaster to take that top spot in thrill park fanfare. Their ride lineup is fantastic in itself, but what’s the signature ride if you had to choose? I would pick Diamondback, which is a great coaster in itself, but just imagine if they had another big coaster to compliment it that wasn’t as long and drawn out as Orion
Banshee the best drop at Kings Island???? I have to COMPLETELY disagree with that. Orion is my favorite drop in the park... with Diamondback a close second.
I think KI should develop something higher than Top Thrill 2. It would bring in more crowds! Where do you think they would put that though? As for that Vortex plot of land, I could see something like an RMC there!
Rougarou is phenomenal if you hold your head back, and as a guy who was there almost every weekend it gets a pretty long line midday. Still very popular. Because of the conversion, the front row feels more out of control than when it was mantis. And the little pop of airtime before the MCBR is awesome if you're on the far right.
I doubt it will ever happen. The park needs other things right now like a hotel, new pavers around and under the Eiffel Tower, Scooby-doo to come back in some way, the old sign that used to be used for the restaurant where Grain & Grill is today, little things that made the park great.
If Kings Island ever does build a stratacoaster I could see it being similar to Top Thrill 2. I could see the station being where The Bat currently is and have the ride go all the way to Invertigo’s plot of land and have the tower part of the ride right beside the front gate. Now if that were to happen that would mean 2 coasters would get removed as well as Congo falls and the amphitheater however it would be an insane and epic way to start the day at kings island by looking straight up a 400ft tall coaster next to the front gate!
As a Cincinnati resident, id love to see a coaster that big at my home park. But I honestly would be just as excited about an RMC coaster at kings island.
Great video, absolutely love your content, I think Kings Island could build a strata coaster if they wanted to I mean look at what Six Flags Great Adventure did when they built Kingda Ka I’m still wondering what they will do with the Vortex plot of land plus you mentioned all the land that Kings Island owns great video once again!!!
Not a chance, they wouldn’t even let them build a giga taller than millennium force. The one thing that they might give them is most inversions in USA in the vortex plot.
Kings Island has the space for a strata but I honestly don’t see it happening. Cedar Point has always been the flagship park of Cedar Fair. Now that both parks are owned by Six Flags, MAYBE it has a chance…but I still doubt it.
I would like to see the reincarnation of the Son of Beast. Perhaps not as a wooden roller coaster, but as a steel roller coaster, in the exact same design, including the height and with a loop!
What is like to see happen at KI is adding a world class RMC. I’d then like to see Intamin add a top 10 coaster to the park. That appeals more to me than adding something super tall. Just my opinion.
I think it might be possible for Kings Island to build a 500ft stracoaster with an intense layout with multiple inversions and a twisted spike especially with the new Six flags-cedar fair regional theme park chain happening so maybe they would want to do something to get international attention to show people the merger is a positive thing for capital investment. The New Six Flags changes everything and after they pay off the debt they might be more flexible with investment.
I really wish people would stop discrediting Orion--it IS in fact a giga coaster. For those who do not know, a hyper coaster has a height OR drop between 200-299 feet, whereas a giga has a height OR drop between 300-399 feet. Orion's drop is exactly 300 feet, which makes it a giga. Brandon, you owe it to your audience and potential audience to not spread misinformation.
AGREED. It's structure height and/OR drop height must be between 200-299 feet to qualify as a hyper (so Magnum, Phantom's Revenge, Apollo's Chariot, and even Steel Curtain and the Big Apple Coaster all meet criteria as a hypercoaster) and a structure and/or drop 300-399 feet is a giga (Orion most definitely is).
I think the chances are fairly high for KI to get a strata. Mostly because they do have the space for it....at least more so than CP. One of these days I'll make it to KI. I've had three trips planned there for the past three years and something always comes up. :(
Good video! Totally agree about Rougarou. I don't think K.I. would build a strata. If they did, Cedar Fair would scuttle the stats to be inferior to TT2 like they did Orion to be sub Millennium Force stats. Not one Orion stat is better than 20 yr old MF???? I'd rather see a Mack spinner like Time Traveler, Velocicoaster or Pantheon style ride through the woods.
I love Rougaru. I dont agree with Tony Clark, ive never heard anyone call Dragster just Top Thrill. Not even when I worked there. I can agree with this prediction
RMC son of beast will make the list in 2025 And also ki is not building anything over 400ft they have better things to do like build elite thrilling coasters
Since the 90's, I've understood the definition of a hyper coaster to be a structure height exceeding 200 ft (like Magnum) and/or a drop exceeding 200 ft (like Phantom's Revenge). I realize this also means that the Big Apple Coaster at New York, NY in Las Vegas qualifies, too. This also means Steel Curtain qualifies for its structure height exceeding 200 feet (wow - Kennywood had a "hyper-looper" in the 90's-2000 and then opened another 18 years later)!!
Yeah, I say Magnum is hyper because it is over 200 feet and other rides like you said but in my mind, I'm like is this a true hyper because of the drop then I'm like Orion is 100% a Giga you drop 300 but the height is 287.@@PRMurphy171
I don't see it happening, especially now with the merger. Too many opportunities to put a standout coaster in another part of the country instead of piling them all in Ohio.
If kings island would start the lift hill down in the valley by the bat and build a strata lift hill then they would have a strata coaster that does not have a strata drop. That would have people saying that it’s not a strata because the drop is not over 400’! Lol!
If I had $35-40 million, I'd build one just to irritate ungrateful coaster enthusiasts!! A 401 ft lift structure height and a 299 ft drop - heads would explode... HAHA
Never will happen. Even with all the land to do it, it seems there is a hierarchy in Cedar Fair land. PKI sits below Cedar Point. Well that may change in the world of Cedar Flags with Great Adv, Magic Moutain, the Texas parks could even push PKI further down the upgrade list.
KI does better attendance than great adventure and that is a bigger market. Magic mountain does better attendance because it is open year round and is the second largest market in America. Six Flags Texas there is no data out there so I can't say what they do. I think KI will be okay
Great video! Ohio has some of the best roller coasters of all time!
And yes, I also agree that Rougarou is underrated! 😝
It really is!
I think King's Island needs to first do RMC Son of Beast. I'm all for a strata (launches are one of my favourite sensation) but it would be poetic to reincarnate the legendary wood coaster.
Not a bad idea! Maybe you could go down and pitch it to staff! 😊
I feel like they could build a hyper mack Xtreme spinner. Crossing fingers!
I feel like there is a pretty high chance the kings island builds the worlds tallest. Cedar point just doesnt have the space
Cedar Point has the space they would just have to sacrifice magnum and Gemini. Those to coasters have reached their service life in my opinion.
@@darrylellis4809magnum is a hot take. I think magnum is great.. but Gemini could be gone and I wouldn't miss it
Ya they do. They have the parking lot to expand the park and build parking in land and have a massive tram system to bring people to the park

Can you make a video on the new season passes for Cedar Fair Parks? (Are the new Six Flags parks a part of this, etc)?

As long as Kings Island and Cedar Point are owned by the same company I don’t ever see KI overshadowing Cedar Point
My thought as well. No matter how much potential KI has, CP will always be the golden child.
Quality or quantity
