In this video I show you and advise you how to build a replica of Luke Skywalker's lightsaber from Return of the Jedi out of wood!
From marking out and turning the wand on a wood lathe from a beautiful piece of teak wood. Then deciding to remake many parts from contrasting colours of wood by using the wood turning lathe, belt sander, rotary tools and hand tools. Each part was a really fun challenge with the multiple parts that make up the hand grip, the activation plate, the belt ring and the entire emitter assembly at the front. Finally I varnished the lightsaber with four coats of clear satin wood varnish! :-)

U usually make wands, but this is a very nice surprise and i love it. not really a star wars fan, but it looks good.

I had no interest in Star Wars for my whole life and then watched it this year and love it so wanted to make a prop but in a different way from how it is in the film 👍😀 Thank you, glad you like it 😃
