I"m glad I found Knox a few months ago! He may pause a lot but he really explains things which helps people like me who have trouble hearing what's said in raps and can't really imagine things very well.

Welcome! Glad you found our channel 😃🥳 we are new to ERB so still finding our groove on how we want to react to them but yeah, we don’t like to interrupt the flow when we watch. Takes us out of it. Especially because we watch everything on screen for the first time. Not everyone enjoys our style but for those that do, we are grateful. 🙂🤟🍻🥂

Totally agree, other channels pause sooo often it's annoying.
I gave it to Joker when i first saw it, and i still give it to him. There is some stuff that went over my head till i saw Knox Hill break it down more. He gave it to pennywise but its all of a matter of opinion for ERB.
If there is bars you missed, they can be explained. Look at the trilogy battle, Darth Vader vs. Adolf Hitler. Those battles are fun to watch
To me, part of winning is people understand your insults. If it goes over most people’s heads or has to be broken down then it’s not as effective. Not that “low brow” humor should always win, but super inside jokes don’t win it for me either 🤗 just an opinion obviously 😝

I personally think this one was *the best* battle ERB's made to date. It's very well rounded with hardly any redundant bars, and a very healthy exchange of fire from both camps. I'd give the win to Joker, but objectively speaking it could really go either way.
Joker was winning, until Pennywise made The Cask of Amontillado reference which basically called the Joker a jester.
Freddy Krueger vs Wolverine is one of my favourites also James Bond vs Austin Powers is another really good one~!

The great thing about this battle is the depth of some of the lines. If you watch that "rapper reacts to" video you mention he points out all the hidden double meanings you don't necessarily catch on a first listen.

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames i think they should bring you guys some decent returns, and while it may not be one of the better ones they have done, they do have a mario bros vs wright bros, that could be a bridge, but if i had to suggest one, pretty much anything from season 5 forward is well done

I can see either side winning but that Heath Ledger line is difficult to beat. Thanks for the videos, I'm enjoying.
Yeah the Heath Ledger line was cold.
They both went all out. As you say, I could see calling it for either side. For me, I think Penny JUST edges out because of how layered the “John Doe in my Deadlights” line is, because of the savagery level of the Heath Ledger bar, and because he got Joker on the defensive over “his Bat” for a moment, which meant a pause in his burns / attacks.

The cool thing about these ERB is that they can be entertaining if you don’t know a lot about the characters but knowing more gives a much deeper appreciation to lines obviously 😊

How about watching Death Battle? My recommendations would be Guts vs Nightmare, Hulk vs Broly, Wolverine vs Raven and Darkseid vs Thanos.. there are a lot good ones actually but you guys get it, it's like epic rap battles. Different animations and a lot of dc /marvel and anime characters.

Honestly not sure. Because things change with new trailers being released and pushing things back. We do try to get to new franchises when we can though
this battle had a metric ton of deep cuts tho. def approachable, but its really damn hard to catch most of those.
"Rapper Reacts" is Knox Hill. His breakdown of hip hop videos are amazingly thorough. By the way, Pennywise won this. Bars were more savage and EpicLloyd was eerily creepy playing Pennywise.

Not sure. We have them on our list. Right now AC and MK are the two main franchises we focus on week to week and then we try to get through our request list with other franchises and the Star Wars games are definitely on there 🙂

if Films are your thing, Hitchcock vs Spielberg is good as are a few others, but in order to catch most of the references, you have to REALLY know the subjects. Lloyd and Peter (the main channel artists) do their research before writing the raps.
This one sounds interesting. Fans of both but not experts on them by any means

I LIKE the Joker character better - he's more likeable, and I've watched him off and on since i was a little kid in the 60's, and Pennywise has just always creeped me out, (he's supposed to). I gave it to Joker, at first. Re-watching it now, i honestly think it was a tie.
Pennywise's reference to Poe's Amantillado, plus his reference to Gacy, (the real life "killer clown"), are missed by some. In fact, i wondered, at one point, if JW Gacy was Stephen King's inspiration for Pennywise - he dressed up as Pogo the clown, was often photographed with a bunch of balloons, and preyed upon teenage boys. He then buried them in the crawl space under his house, (33 of them).
I recommend Romeo and Juliet vs Bonnie and Clyde next, or Western philosophers vs Eastern philosophers
