Whether the O'Regans were entitled to the estate or not, they certainly uncovered corruption on the part of Brennan the administrator, it was his duty to ask where the decades of rent for those properties had went, and get a fair price for them, he did neither.
It baffles me that with approximately 30 properties at the time of the father's passing, with four children, how did anyone get to legally take charge of any of the properties? I know that after so many years of probably buying and selling over that it may be tedious but this should have been traced and investigated. Also, Mary wasn't aware of these properties or was it that she didn't want to have to deal with people as is evident by the way she lived?
@@gracemunich1476 well in the USA if you do not pay the property taxes even if the property is paid in full the state gets it back, and doubt that this lady paid any of them, in Spain happens the same even if by mistake you do not receive the bill the property is put in auction and sold, I know someone that did happen and she was living in the house when she found out that it was sold and she had to vacate the property, she is fighting it but no luck
That American female lawyer comes across as a liar ... as for the priest, there is nothing wrong with exhuming to prove something, because RIP on a gravestone does not mean a person rests in peace eternally
Completely agree with you. The priest is biased and ignorant against wanting to establish fact and truth, as per his duty and obligation in his priestly office .
Wouldn't surprise me of the systemic corruption that the O'Regans may have uncovered. Super interesting episode Also, the dubbing of the Irish claimants is so funny. I mean, I'm from NZ and find their accents aren't even that hard to understand. The dumbing down of the intelligence of US viewers is kinda sad
Absurd and rather insulting to have a voiceover for people with Irish accents - and especially so when the replacement voice has an English accent, eg at 21.30.
Ohhh I’m so glad the Irish speaking it’s covered with clear speaking… no offence I love Irish people very much but very hard for me to understand them…
@@katerinagiannioudi401Exactly! I speak 3 languages but there are some accents in my first language I can’t understand. My also American buddy who speaks 4 languages including German cannot understand British accents.
Unbelievable.. A cop accumulates millioms of dollars of real estate, has four children whi never marry and no decendents. And an irish catholic family at that. Some thing un natural about their situation. Do the cousins or nephew take prior claim to the riches.
It is wrong that they were all referred to as Will hunters. They asked for relatives to come forward so what were the O Regans meant to do? Mind you they would have saved money by not going but that’s not the point.
Perhaps there are birth, death and marriage records somewhere that were not consulted because they formed part of an unknown archive located in another geographical area.
My nan always said she was twenty one, When asked she said she was born in 1908, the same year as my grandad. It was only when I researched on Ancestry, I realised I couldn't find her or my gt grandparents. I had a dream the night before my daughter was born. My nan who had died years before said call her Emma, its a family name. So I did, then remembered that dream years later. Found Emma Powell, realised virtually everyone was called by their middle names and Nan, known as Dora was officially Agnes Dorothy, born 1902, not 1908. There are six missing years in her life before she married grandad that no one knows where she was etc. Not on the 1921 census either . It's a mystery
I'm also a sheehan ( I have 1 aunt, 2 cousins and 5 second cousins ) that have the first name "Mary" and last name "sheehan" , that's just the ones I know of . I have never known most of my father's cousins , big family's 6 to 17 children family's so I guess there's a few more Mary's.
Money it can’t buy you everything but as grandma said you could go rough times in comfort though this lady clearly an illness like OCD I don’t remember hearing about hearing about hoarders a few years ago make that 2 decades thinking about it
Doesn’t the US have heir hunters? They are companies who when an estate when no heir is found they go through ancestry birth and death records or here the money also goes to the state
It's not about the Money, it's about finding the Truth. Hmm.. what IF that Lady leaves nothing? well.. maybe just some clothes and some tablecloths. Are they going to spend Millions to do all those tests? ☺
a properties that is likely Ill-gotten , it wouldve been tragic if its hard-earned. , also this is why private companies illegal or not wink wink have control of the government so they can do whatvere they want also they shouldve hired an expert to test it as well and theres many factors that it doesnt match is it possible someone was adopted etc or its not their relative why not just test the whole 2 generations with the older o'regan.
it´s very interesting that the DNA test was done only by sampling the femur of the deceased person. The people requesting it should have asked for it to be taken also from the clothing and other parts of the skeleton, to avoid fraud. It´s very easy to replace one or two bones in a skeleton.
I believe that Mary had a sour soul… living like that it’s a mental issue… for the relatives to go through so much even exhuming bodies from the grave, I don’t blame them for a sec… we are talking millions of dollars… but Mary’s will was different… no one gets anything… so many rich people around the world has no heart in them, let alone soul… that’s why they rich!!!!😢
If the eccentric old lady had just made a will, then there wouldn't have been a problem in the first place🤷♀️ so the only people in this story getting rich were the lawyers 🤭

sounds strange that comment.
Digging up a body is not disturbing the dead as the soul left the body at the time of crossing over. The dead know nothing but the Spirit lives on. 🔔

exactly. What happened to those properties? 😊
The people in charge of the will somehow managed to sell the properties underhanded for $10 to some club, those in authority

DNA is the only way....and this priest seems rather crooked to me.
No surprise there😮
You’re right on the money there!
And we all know what sort those priest were... I 'm sure there was a handy donation to the parish and something else overlooked in return

Glad you said it, It was hilarious 😂
Why on earth would you dub over Irish people speaking English. It's annoying. People understand accents. Goodness.
Agreed! Reflects badly on the programme makers’ view of its audience.
And the other, younger one was translated by an Irish voice.Ridiculous not to use him,if Americans,of all people can’t understand the Irish.
I have lived next to my Irish neighbour for ten years and can still barely understand him 😊
Well said
No. Not all people do. Irish is very diffucult to understand.
Why the voice overs? they just as easy to understand as the voice over
the thick irish accent, its a public doucumentary so its unlikely its not what they said.

Surreal story 🤔
What 10 dollars for selling a house smacks fraud

The Dna sample of Mary was swapped out. No doubt.
You mean Ellen. Mary wasn’t exhumed and tested.
Without a doubt! If the real story was uncovered a lot of unsavoury characters would have been taken down!
