Yeah I was pretty badass then...if I had fought Bane then, I pretty much would've destroyed him. Eight years of sitting around screws your body up you know?
tdkfangirl CIA knew about Bane we see that in the beginning of the movie (Plane heist scene) so why wouldn't the worlds greatest detective and his (ex-army) butler also know about him? So here are two ways: Alfred probably could know about Bane: 1. Alfred had contacts from his army-time. 2. He hacked CIA and found the info about Bane. Pick whatever you like the most. I'm sorry, but sometimes these questions answers themselves if you just pay alittle attention. ;-)
1:54 that single statement completely explains the self sabotaging nature of depressed people and how it affects the people around them. Makes me too emotional.
After watching this movie multiple times, I thought I watched enough of this movie to know everything about it. Now while watching this video from a random recommendation I realised something.....when Alfred say 'Sometimes a man rises from the darkness', that's exactly when the suit emerges from beneath. This is a subtle foreshadowing of the events in the movie. When Bruce Wayne dons the batsuit for the first time in 8 years, its Bruce Wayne that's going out there to fight crime. He is the same depressed Bruce Wayne, that had a gun on him when he went to confront Joe Chill's hearing. He is broken, afraid, reckless and he has lost his sense of purpose. Only when he is thrown into the pit and made to suffer, he is able to find his real strength, which is his indomitable spirit, embrace his fear and is able to climb out of the pit. The bats flying out of the walls just as he is bale to make the jump signifies this. That is when Batman rises for one last time to save his city once and for all. Hence, the title, ' The Dark Knight Rises'.
Gotta love how Alfred sometimes spoke way too poetically about real issues often requiring a direct and to-the-point explanation. It’s actually quite refreshing to see a supporting character who likes to provide euphemistic context like this. “But sometimes, a man rises from the Darkness... Sometimes, the pit... sends something back,” and “And anyone who’s too extreme for Ra’s Al Ghul, is a man not to be trifled with.” I mean, DAYUMN, Alfred! That’s all so ominously poetic, and gives me an emotional context to the problem that Bane poses!
0:23 to 0:25 - you can see the fear in Alfred's face as he knows what road Bruce is looking like he's going to go down again - but, very reluctantly, he knows he has to accept his decision and can't force him to change his mind either way
Loved Michael Caine's Alfred. He had the perfect blend of a moral parental figure combined with witty sense of humour, just like how Bale nailed the balance between the characters of Bruce Wayne and Batman
I love the way when Alfred says, "But sometimes, a man rises from the darkness" and you get the shot of the suit coming up, almost foreshadowing that Bruce himself rises from the pit.
Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack in the background of this scene, is so well done. It perfectly fits the scene and the eerie darkness of the storytelling, whilst at the same time also promoting Bruce’s determination to return to Gotham as The Dark Knight. His duty, to save the city.. No matter the cost.
Bruce :" You are afraid , that if I go back there , I will fail" Alfred : "No...I am afraid that you want to" Alfred knew that deep down Bruce felt somehow responsible for Rachel's death and that he was not longer afraid of dying . In fact when they fought for the first time Bane said to Batman : "Victory has defeated you".
What could Bruce Wayne have done as Bane took over Gotham? I can see where Alfred is coming from about Bruce needing to move away from Batman. He can't be Batman forever. I get that. But Gotham needed Batman to take on Bane & his Army. Batman is brutal but he is inspiring to the ordinary citizen because he takes the battle to the villains. He gives the people a symbol to rally around, to believe in. Look at the kids, some of the cops throughout this film. The minute things go south after 8 years of manufactured peace due to Dent's persona being full of propaganda, there is no resistance to Bane's rise bar Batman. When out of Gotham in the ancient prison, the city is helpless. There is no way Bane's threat & plan can be countered by Bruce Wayne the civilian making technological & infrastructure improvements to Gotham. And ironically, it's Bruce funding technological innovation that led to a villain weaponizing a Wayne Industries project.
this kind of scenes is what makes you understand why Nolan's trilogy is in another level. i like every iteration of Batman in cinema, but The Dark Knight Trilogy is just unbelievably good.
Alfred: "But sometimes a man rises from the darkness. Sometimes the pit sends something back." And then, the bat suit rises from the ground. Superb writing.
Batman vs Owlman: O: “You’re like me. We’ve both looked into the abyss.” B: “Your right, we both looked into the abyss. But when you looked…you blinked.”
Dark Knight & Dark Knight Rises are just top notch movies if you forget about them and rewatch them again. You see all these little nuances and things you didn’t notice in your last watch.
Michael Caine has this ability to tell a story and make me want to listen. Most of the time, I start to tense up because it usually sounds lame when other actors tell a story.
Nolan is mastermind to pick the actors as character wise , initially he choose cillian Murphy for batman but changed his decision and give him scarecrow role undoubtedly he done perfectly😎😎😎
What I want to know is this: The Dark Knight Trilogy was beloved by all, and Batman didn't kill in it (not on purpose at least). 'Man of Steel' suffered a massive fan backlash because Superman killed one guy. So what do Zack Snyder and the other people working on 'Batman V Superman' decide to do? Have Batman kill fucking EVERYONE!
The scene where Batman goes to save Martha Kent makes up for everything. It was the best bat-fight in any movie, ever. If you notice at the end, he didn't adapt his creed not to kill until after he felt he'd failed Superman (hence, the branding of the wall in Luthor's cell instead of Luthor, indicating he was changing his ways to be less brutal). I like that Batman and Superman were killers in these movies. I get that people expect them to be the same characters, but they've been the exact same characters for 50 years a piece. Let somebody come out with a darker take on them just for the sake of "what if Batman was a killer?"
The symbolism here is so subtly loud that sometimes it gets completely ignored and sometimes you just are awe of it ! Nolan is just another level ! Instance bat suit rises up with dialogue that pit throws something back !!

justinjacquez766 I literally thought the same thing!😄😂
I'm not playing games Slade.
all the arkham games borrow ideas from the movies
Yeah I was pretty badass then...if I had fought Bane then, I pretty much would've destroyed him. Eight years of sitting around screws your body up you know?
Bruce Wayne lol
That’s because you took the blame for Harvey dent’s crimes that he committed and didn’t go back during 8 years
@@MrStevenstacy he could've still kept his body in shape
Jahmel Brewster depression can do dangerous things to you man
@@MrStevenstacy correct, but I still think he should've trained some more before going back into the field cause we all saw how that ended
Michael Caine as Alfred build so much of the emotional stakes in this movie
0:39 “Where men are thrown.. to suffahh “
"And doye"
God! I nearly cry about how much I love these films!
Definite signs of "The Dark Knight Returns" in this film, and that is no bad thing.
CinemaShredder "If it's suicide you're after, I have an old family recipe."
+CountArtha Funny, that was almost quoted in the recent Batman v Superman trailer
CinemaShredder who said it was a bad thing?
@@batnick7230 You don't get it.
It's like a mix of Dark Knight Returns and Batman: Knightfall.
How does Alfred know about Bane? Did he Google him or something?
tdkfangirl He followed him on Twitter.
tdkfangirl CIA knew about Bane we see that in the beginning of the movie (Plane heist scene) so why wouldn't the worlds greatest detective and his (ex-army) butler also know about him? So here are two ways: Alfred probably could know about Bane: 1. Alfred had contacts from his army-time. 2. He hacked CIA and found the info about Bane. Pick whatever you like the most.
I'm sorry, but sometimes these questions answers themselves if you just pay alittle attention. ;-)
Det ErMig
Damn, must have missed the part where Alfred was a hacker lol. Guess I'll have to pay more attention next time.
tdkfangirl It would save you for alot of questions, yes.
+Callutts Alfred was a SAS, not a hacker. SAS's usually are trained to be comfortable with anything.
1:54 that single statement completely explains the self sabotaging nature of depressed people and how it affects the people around them. Makes me too emotional.
That's why it's called depression and why it's hard to treat.
Best Batman ever
Alfred: "Sometimes a man rises from the darkness"
*Batman suit rises up*
Imagery!
“Is it really painful”
“Well your very welcome to try it Alfred”
😂😂
Happy watching thank you sir
The soundtrack of the Dark Knight Trilogy is magnificent and just perfect.
Yeaaa
Some people just dont know how badass Bruce Wayne is
"sometime ...the pit sends something back"
I love all of the meanings in Alfreds line "Sometimes a man rises, from the darkness" as the Batsuit rises up.
Brits are the masters of understatement.
Man!! Its 2024 and this scene still gives me chills❤
That's So True!!!!
0:23 to 0:25 - you can see the fear in Alfred's face as he knows what road Bruce is looking like he's going to go down again - but, very reluctantly, he knows he has to accept his decision and can't force him to change his mind either way
*Leg cracked sounds*
Alfred:is it really painful?
Bruce:youre very welcome to try it Alfred...
Loved Michael Caine's Alfred. He had the perfect blend of a moral parental figure combined with witty sense of humour, just like how Bale nailed the balance between the characters of Bruce Wayne and Batman
1:13. His face is so handsome
Yeah Michael Caine is handsome
Bruh, but he looking skinny and worse jawline like a joker to me😢
I love the way when Alfred says, "But sometimes, a man rises from the darkness" and you get the shot of the suit coming up, almost foreshadowing that Bruce himself rises from the pit.
Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack in the background of this scene, is so well done. It perfectly fits the scene and the eerie darkness of the storytelling, whilst at the same time also promoting Bruce’s determination to return to Gotham as The Dark Knight. His duty, to save the city.. No matter the cost.
alfred really cares for bruce
I love TDK trilogy
Bruce :" You are afraid , that if I go back there , I will fail"
Alfred : "No...I am afraid that you want to"
Alfred knew that deep down Bruce felt somehow responsible for Rachel's death and that he was not longer afraid of dying . In fact when they fought for the first time Bane said to Batman : "Victory has defeated you".
Which is why Bane chose to break the Bat rather than kill him out right.
Btw : how does Alfred know about the pit in a far remote place ? did He just check it on Wikipedia? 🤣🤣🤣
Man. The music is so good in this trilogy.
Can we take a second to appreciate the soundtrack? Amazing!
This was the best DC trilogy ever. No doubt.
the 3 best dc movies and the last 3 dc movies before that hack drove into the ground,
best trilogy ever.
Alfred hasn't aged since bruce was a kid till this moment
this kind of scenes is what makes you understand why Nolan's trilogy is in another level.
i like every iteration of Batman in cinema, but The Dark Knight Trilogy is just unbelievably good.
Alfred: "But sometimes a man rises from the darkness. Sometimes the pit sends something back." And then, the bat suit rises from the ground. Superb writing.
The chemistry in this scene between Caine and Bale is amazing. The whole series to be honest
Black Orchid : You exude pain. Your life is a patchwork of blackness with no time for joy. How do you cope with it?
Batman : I have a butler.
Batman vs Owlman:
O: “You’re like me. We’ve both looked into the abyss.”
B: “Your right, we both looked into the abyss. But when you looked…you blinked.”
This video is now eight years old showed on my recommendation, coincidence?
Dark Knight & Dark Knight Rises are just top notch movies if you forget about them and rewatch them again.
You see all these little nuances and things you didn’t notice in your last watch.
And Batman Begins too
Michael Caine has this ability to tell a story and make me want to listen. Most of the time, I start to tense up because it usually sounds lame when other actors tell a story.
0:24 dat face you make when you just swept the floor but someone makes a fucking mess again
Michael Caine's delivery here is epic. "Sometimes...the pit sends something back...."
"I Have No Wish To Fill My Few Remaining Years Grieving For The Loss Of Old Friends Or Their Sons."
0:44 best foreshadowing ever
The best batman ever !!
Hit like if you are Christian bale fan !!
Nolan is mastermind to pick the actors as character wise , initially he choose cillian Murphy for batman but changed his decision and give him scarecrow role undoubtedly he done perfectly😎😎😎
Smart going to hospital to have an alibi that secures his secret identity
These two gave us some masterclass acting stuff. Incredible actors. I Miss them together so much.
"A pit, where men are thrown to suffa, and doy!"
When Alfred said "but sometimes a man rises from the darkness"
We see the batsuit rises
Caine made this whole series a legendary trilogy
This is our legend christian bale who if Didn't accepted the act of bruce wayne Well batman movie Didn't existed what a legend❤️😭
best and perfect man for batman .. miss you all the time
Batman going all "Mad Max" with that knee brace!
Wtf was Synder thinking going against this masterpiece? He committed career suicide more or less!
What I want to know is this:
The Dark Knight Trilogy was beloved by all, and Batman didn't kill in it (not on purpose at least).
'Man of Steel' suffered a massive fan backlash because Superman killed one guy.
So what do Zack Snyder and the other people working on 'Batman V Superman' decide to do? Have Batman kill fucking EVERYONE!
+Cybermat47 he does kill in the movie! 😂😂😂
Batman v Superman was a great film but Christian Bales Batman Trilogy either.
Let somebody come out with a darker take on them just for the sake of "what if Batman was a killer?"
no one should make a batman movie anymore
Alfred saying “Sometimes a man rises from the darkness” as the batsuit emerges from the the cave floor
The music in the last film was incredible, id still listen to it wherever i go
The symbolism here is so subtly loud that sometimes it gets completely ignored and sometimes you just are awe of it ! Nolan is just another level ! Instance bat suit rises up with dialogue that pit throws something back !!
respect the past embrace the future
