I worked at Lowes as one of my first jobs in the Lumber department, which is huge. Inspired by this film me and the entire lumber/milling department made our very own version of this in our large store. We set it up and had made a makeshift bed, welcome home mat, and an ice chest where we stored food/drinks. So young, dumb and fun. It was an amazing experience and even fell asleep there once for 45 minutes. Good times, thanks for the inspiration!
The old plumbing shower displays used to have a lot of room behind it where we could hideout, we even had chairs back there. We never got to use it much because of how many customers come in there needing help cause they were clueless
Had one of these in the racking when I worked stores in a factory. Was right at the very back in the far corner of the enormous stores. We had to use the Man Riser forklift to get to it as it was about 100ft up in the racking. 4 of us would hop on the truck, all the way up, and vanish into the racking for ages. Nobody knew about it, not even the office managers. They all thought that when they couldn't find us it was that we'd left site for our lunchbreaks or were moving around the factory doing our jobs. Only thing we had to remember was to make sure we always came out of the racking holding boxes. Even if they were empty boxes... just make sure you're carrying something in case a manager is about. We told the officer managers that leaving the Riser in that corner with the cabin at the top of the mast was a safety precaution in case anyone unqualified tried to use it so they didn't think anything of the truck being parked in that corner for literally hours at a time. Had a nice wee hide up there. Little heater as it was cold up there... kettle with tea and coffee, 3 old couches, table and chairs, a TV with built-in VHS (it was the old days so we didn't need set-top boxes and TVs didn't have DVD yet)... and a microwave and one of those little fridge-freezers as well. I remember us all laughing our asses off when one of the lads appeared with the TV, fridge-freezer and microwave in the back of his car. He said to us the day before to get in 30 minutes early, but didn't tell us why... 5:30am he rocks up, opens the boot of the car and we all cackled like maniacs and immediately knew what to do... We'd play cards, drink coffee, smoke cigs and munch on microwave meals while watching old VHS tapes for about 4 hours of the 12 hour shift xD Such a great place to work. Miss those days.
Probably but they saved themselves when their corporate manager glenn Ross was inspecting the place they had no choice but to cover up their secret lounge
Standing in a sams club as I type this and showed my kids this scene. They loved it lol! They're always trying to climb behind crap...anyways, gotta keep shopping, dreading the damn bill!
When Walmart was cool for that time the higher ups made this type of clubhouse in the back aisle one two many people went up and it winded up collapsing on a nightshift. Needless to say they put the blame on the forklift. Back before myspace was a thing. Good times.
@@Supernova-ew1yg Yes it was a long hard fought battle, But I retreated to lick my wounds and now coming up with a new strategy. (I wasn’t there that day they got caught)

I've always thought about this but now that I'm LP I can see the freaking danger behind it. I'm literally trembling thinking about a couple co-workers getting hurt. This s*** looks so fun! I didn't realize how stupid though. Good luck you guys
The secret space in this clip reminds me of a retail store I worked at that had an abandoned stock room basically filled with trash. We cleaned it up and turned it into a secret office/lounge. My direct manager knew about it, but it was otherwise mostly a secret. It was good while it lasted until one day during an audit the district manager found it, asked wth the room was, and the store manager was embarrassed because they knew nothing about it 😂. The store manager made us clear out our stuff as punishment, so I just filled it back up with the trash that we cleaned out and said if they want to use it, then they can clean it out like i did. It went back to being unused for years.
I am the kind of weird that finds that space extremely cozy and would want that kind of location in a zombie apocalypse (slow, dumb zombies, anything else we are all dead).
I had my own secret break area at work when I was 19. Worked in a live theater and there was a ladder that went up to a maintenance room with a bunch of machinery that no one ever had a reason to go to during show hours. I would sleep up there on break.
Why are they sitting right at the entrance where some nosy customer can spot Dane sitting in the chair IF they look up at the right angle. Move the table down some, and you're good! 😅
Clubhouse layout literally makes no sense. Because when he is being raised up on the forklift you can clearly see there is only two racks deep from his side of the aisle to the other side of the aisle. And when it jumps over to the view of the clubhouse, the clubhouse is, like, 3-4 racks deep. Lol.
we did a similar thing in our old wheel storage room where we took a few of the top ones out and we hid on top of them shelvs sleeping for like 30 mins and then alarm and back to work lmao, sometimes when someone asked where if beed because they needed me or sum i just said shit like "oh yeah i was just talking with the boss because i wanted to know when i get my vacation" always worked. never caught. (i heard the young mfs that started working there after me had a spot under the stair literally 30ft away from my spot like what is this man xD)
@@AlexandarHullRichter Oh Ok it all makes since now I thought it was all fake products and filmed in a studio? man I wonder how long did filming take sucks for the customers even if it was only for a week?

We have a chill spot just like that at work I actually been chillin in there all day smokin with my homies so far only a small few people know about it two managers included everyone respects this spot and is always alerted by walkie talkie if needed I think we all need a stop like this at work I mean we spend more time working then actual resting at home as long as the jobs done no complaints and honestly you can finish everything in like a hour so every 1hour I’ll make a round to see if everything’s good been here for 4 years now
It takes a titanic weigh shift to knock the shelving those pallets sit on over. They are built to hold tons and tons of stock and pallets are stacked to be evenly weighed and solid. There is no danger here at all except technically the guy should have worn a harness when on the lift
The only thing i want is to have a store like this owned by me and a couple of friends we place some beds up on the rafters have a couple beers plays some cards etc eat some food, in my mind this is all i could want
That looks like a better chill spot than the actual cashiers lounge. Hahah
In all the horrid retail places I've worked, this place actually looks cozy.
Gotta have coops
Of course it does
the actual cashiers Lounge was provided by management which might as well be government
and everything government does sucks so...
And it's also inventive.
a cashiers lounge?? you mean the lame break room everyone uses?

Made a clubhouse when I worked for Morrisons in the warehouse. Wasn’t as big but it worked.
Only thing that would make this scene better is if they had something to hide the entrance, like a fake box or a pallet.
Yes... And also love the idea of a camera monitor. Its like my happy place a secret hideout away from all the troubles
a plain brown box with a sharpied drawn door on the front would’ve been the cherry on top
