This fucking song makes me cry every damn time. "Ain’t somebody gonna tell me what I’m doin here Aint somebody gonna tell me where I’m goin Aint somebody gonna spend a blank minute with me" Gets me everytime, tired of walking this path alone.
Beehive Production , Thank you ....I have listen to several of his recordings on u-tube ......FINALLY he is using a disant mike and I can actually understand every word thanks to the fabulous mike and excellent sound engineering .
I want my son to have this when I’m dead It’s a book I always start, but I have never read And I was bound to follow in the steps my dad tread And if I’d have known back then, I’d have fled Chorus: Ain’t somebody gonna tell me what I’m doin here Aint somebody gonna tell me where I’m goin Aint somebody gonna spend a blank minute with me Won’t you pray for an old hobo’s gone wrong Now everyday I wake up is a new day And every song I sing contains a new refrain When I see you again, will it change I’ll remember your face, and maybe your name -Chorus- Now this life is made up of long hours That last about as long as you can breathe And if you close your eyes and just let it roll on You’ll wake up and find you missed out on many things -Chorus- The woods around my house have no ending I really don’t live there - stoves And the lake around my town has no bottom I know somebody who dove in and never came home -Chorus-
Sitting here at the Cedar Lounge/Earth Rider Festival Grounds listening to Charlie sing this song. Free concerts - at least the 5th time I've seen him this summer. One of the few good things during the Covid19 era.
I adore him- my daughter went to see him last week in Montana- ?new to me? anyway - I love you Charlie Parr- my daughter said not only are you talented but genuine & down to earth- When are you coming to New England?
@@robertwynkoop7112 Hi Robert, any chance could share a tab of the picking pattern ? I'm really struggling to learn it even slowing down the video to 0,25.

Hang in there❤
So glad I found this man
Heres a man who put in his time to learn his craft. A picker with a voice and soul that keeps the 'folk' in the music. I really enjoy his stories.

this guys' badass!
I want my son to have this when I’m dead
It’s a book I always start, but I have never read
And I was bound to follow in the steps my dad tread
And if I’d have known back then, I’d have fled
Chorus:
Ain’t somebody gonna tell me what I’m doin here
Aint somebody gonna tell me where I’m goin
Aint somebody gonna spend a blank minute with me
Won’t you pray for an old hobo’s gone wrong
Now everyday I wake up is a new day
And every song I sing contains a new refrain
When I see you again, will it change
I’ll remember your face, and maybe your name
-Chorus-
Now this life is made up of long hours
That last about as long as you can breathe
And if you close your eyes and just let it roll on
You’ll wake up and find you missed out on many things
-Chorus-
The woods around my house have no ending
I really don’t live there - stoves
And the lake around my town has no bottom
I know somebody who dove in and never came home
-Chorus-
I really don’t live there - just dont
so beautiful and powerful- brings tears to my eyes
this song really connected with me for some reason
You wouldn’t happen to be homeless would you?
yeah, i've not been homeless, but i feel i know what he's talking about
Ive not been homeless physically but I grew up in a bad situation and spent years soul searching and studying so I could make a home that wasnt broken

Does anyone know what tuning this song is in?
I play it in standard with capo at the second fret, just like him..... the picking pattern is tricky and that is what makes this song!
@@robertwynkoop7112 Hi Robert, any chance could share a tab of the picking pattern ? I'm really struggling to learn it even slowing down the video to 0,25.
I think he is tuned a whole step down and then capos everything at 2nd fret except the top D strings
